I am also a member of Talking Chop, the Atlanta Braves Blog, and one of the main "mods" over there brought up a great idea to get to know the members a little better. While I've been here, for over two years, id say, I cant remember seeing one like this; at least not this specific. :P  If there was, maybe we could update it with this one, and add some new members.

Now let me put this out here first, I'm somewhat of a new hockey fan, compared to most on this site. I started watching the caps near the end of the Bondra days, and have no way grasped the complexities of the Cap. With that being said, I'm aware of the impending free agencies of the likes of players such as Semin and Backstrom. Now seeing as we need a number one center, I'm sure we will lock up Backy. Now that leaves Mr. Alex Semin.

My question is, realistically, what are the chances of the team retaining Semin at the end of the year, or possibly trading him before the deadline. Do we have the money to keep him? And is he worth the money he's likely to be asking for?

Don't be too harsh on my lack of knowledge.

I don't know how many of you stayed up to watch the Rockies Giants game, but it just ended, and I am disgusted. The 1-1 game went all the way to the 14th inning, where Valez laced a 2-run triple with runners at the corners to go up 3-1, and they tacked on one more run before the inning was over, leading 4-1 going into the bottom of the 14th. Everything was looking good for us to close the gap, until Giants pitchers decided the strike zone was something they didn't want any part of. With the bases loaded and 1 out, pitcher Adam Eaton stayed in to bat, due to the lack of players left in the game. Stupid NL. But anyways, He walked after a 3-1 count, and Miller throwing yet another ball. This brought in Valdez to TRY and close it out with the bases loaded, but he proceeds to pitch a walk-off grand slam ball to an all-too-familiar Ryan Spilborghs to win it 6-4.... As you will all see on SportsCenter.

We were a ''mediocre'' inning of pitching away from being only 2.5 games back, but now sit almost 5 games behind this Rockies team.  I just had to vent to someone. I'm extremely pissed right now.

Are the Rockies going to let us catch them? I know they have a tough stretch of games in the coming week, but if they continue to play the way they are, what's stopping them from taking the wild card?

I mean, yes, we've only had two straight games(home games) of wretched play. And games that we've had against the likes of the Kings. When is this team going to start showing up every night, not looking at the name of the opponent on the scoresheet before the game? Im sick of them coming out lost and lackadaisical. It's getting annoying. Either BB needs to light a fire under their asses by benching players for lack of effort and disciple, or get some new players in that will go all out. Ovechkin can't do it himself. This team needs to learn how to move their feet, and keep their mind in the game.
