Who do we really want to play in the first round?
This has been a topic of conversation for the past month since it seemed to become a forgone conclusion that we'd be making the playoffs. After beating Winnipeg last night, that feeling seems to be welling up in me again so I think it's time to ask another question: Who should we be cheering for as our first round opponent? This question has three dynamics at play.
The first of these is whether or not this is Alfie's last season. Since we haven't heard anything contrary and I personally choose to believe that Daniel will continue to play hockey well into his 50's when he will be utilizing a robotic spinal cord and the question "Is he more machine than man?" will frequently be asked, this first factor is not an issue.
Ottawa replacing either Vancouver or Buffalo
With the deal between Vancouver and Buffalo being finalized, what do you think it would have taken for Ottawa to add either Cody Hodgson or Zack Kassian? To me both of these players are extremely attractive for quite different reasons; Hodgson for his elite skill and Kassian for his elite power forward potential
Is This a Joke Mario?
The Pittsburgh Penguins might be the dirtiest team in the league. The owner of the Pittsburgh Penguins faulted the NHL for not coming down hard enough on dirty play. Am I the only one flumixed by this? Matt Cooke was lucky to get off with only four games for his most recent hitting from behind incident. Eric Goddard is just scum. Kris Letang avoid suspension altogether for a blatant hit from behind on Spezza. Later in that game, Orpik and Goddard were good enough sportsmen to shovel snow into Chris Neil's glove after he got into a fight. Maxime Talbot, Cooke, Jordan Staal, Brooks Orpik, and Eric Goddard are all notorious for delivering boarderline hits to the head and knee-on-knee hits. Just class and dignity through and through. Maybe Mario should take his head out of his ass and realise if you're going to play like dirtbags people are going to take execption. Don't do the crime if you can't pay the time, bitch!

Zack Kassian
A big, strong power forward who is having contract issues with Buffalo. They're unsure if they want to give Kassian his entry level deal after he was charged with assualt in some bar in Windsor. A point per game player with an edge. He could be the kind of future second liner the Senators have never had and have always desired(or at least the fans have). What if anything would you trade for Kassian. Would you trade our 16th selecyion this year for #13 from last year? Would you move Kuba and third to a division rival for Kassian and the negotionating rights to a guy like Tallinder? Do you even want this guy?
Discuss.
