Cantu had a nice 2 HR performance tonight to give him 9 on the season.  Going into the game, the 23 year old had the following vitals:

AVG: .306
OBP: .326
SLG: .475
K/BB: 30/4

The big red flag reveals itself in the last category, which also shows up in the OBP.

The question is this, what does the future hold for Cantu?

Giants acquired pitcher LaTroy Hawkins from the Cubs for pitchers Jerome Williams and David Aardsma.

I didn't see this one coming.  Aardsma's stats at AA are nothing to write home about, with a low strikeout rate standing out.  But, it would likely improve upon his move to the 'pen (which will likely be immediate).  

As for Williams, I will be interested to see if he passes his physical.

Here is a thread for us to look at minor leaguers in John's book and compare their future performance with actual major leaguers.  For example, some see Dan Meyer as the next Mark Mulder, while others see him as the next Odalis Perez (that would be me!).  

Let me start off with another comparison: Marcus Giles and Chris Burke. Thoughts?
