So, I bought two tickets for the USSM/LL event on Saturday, and the person I was hoping could join me, in fact cannot. So, that leaves me with an extra ticket, and no other friends nerdy enough to enjoy it. It's too late to get the refund on BPT, so I'm offering it up here, to one of you!

Geoff Baker just updated his post-game blog post with some very interesting quotes regarding the Jones promotion. He ain't too pleased.

"Well, here's a non party-line quote from Jose Guillen, who pulled me aside and told me he's absolutely "pissed off'' about the Jones promotion.

"I just hope they understand this isn't Triple-A,'' he told me. "This is the big leagues.''

You can read the rest here. This pisses ME off. I understand why Guillen would be upset. Ellison was never really given a shot, and he did stand up for Ichiro which was completely badass. Maybe the two became friends. But this is to help the team win as many games as possible, and nothing else. Maybe he thinks it will effect his playing time?

Baker and USSM (maybe through Baker) are reporting that the M's will hold a press conference at 11:30am at Safeco for a major announcement. Ichiro extension? Griffey trade? Hargrove extension? Jones call up? New uniforms? The re-signing of Edgar for DH? No more dippin' dots?

The newly posted article in the Times about Felix being pushed back, has a ridiculous quote from Hargrove.

"We've looked at hundreds, thousands of feet of tape looking to see if he's tipping his pitches, what he's doing mechanically wrong," Hargrove said, "and we've all come to the conclusion that there isn't really anything drastically wrong with his mechanics; it's more of a mindset than anything, so he's altered that a little bit."
