Silver Seven Gatorade sign makes Sens website

Before game three, I asked y'all for some sign ideas and got some great ones.

My friends and I got together and put some ideas to paper.

Thanks for the help urrybody, we made the Sens' website with "AVENGE ME!"

Missing are "PIMPLE or BOYLE?" and "Enjoy the Pressbox, Hatelin". All our signs were initially created for game three.

I didn't get to go to game four, but my girlfriend was there, and she decided to bring the sign she made (I did the ones without illustrations...).

She was on the big screen, and now is on the Sens' website!!

Thanks to all the S7S contributors for the ideas.

As I type, the sign is staring at me from across the room.

It'll be with me at game six.

GO SENS GOOO!!

Silver Seven A few videos from Development Camp - Day 2

First off, it was great of the Sens organization to host the open practice. I can't say how excited I was to go and check out the prospects this year. We arrived with about five minutes to spare and grabbed a spot right behind the goal. It was a pretty crazy spot to be in, with a bunch of pucks clanging off the glass in front of us. But it was an intimate practice with a solid group of fans in attendance.  Bryan Murray, Paul MacLean, Pierre Dorion, Mark Reeds and Vaclav Burda all oversaw the practice from a private balcony area. Paul Cameron again ran things on the ice. DaveYoung has already done an excellent write-up of the day's action, so I'll only comment on a few players and post some videos after the jump. I wanted to provide a quick glimpse of day two to everyone's favourite Sens blog, with its informative articles, biting wit and obscure George Costanza references.

And so, without further ado, I give you: the Candy Line-up.

Really deep group of prospects in this year's camp. IT'S ALL TWIX!!!

Silver Seven Will the Sens drink the Landeskog kool-aid?

I'm getting spooked at all this Landeskog buzz. Does anyone else think that there are much better players available for the Sens to draft? I think a good old fashioned high-potential Canadian centre is the way to go here. In my opinion, a player like Couturier, Nugent-Hopkins, or Huberdeau would work wonders for our team. I will say though, that I have no evidence other than stat columns and youtube highlight reels.

There are definitely reasons to believe that Landeskog would be a good fit here. He took the hard road through the OHL, he speaks perfect English, he's Swedish but plays with the edge of Mike Richards, and the fact that the Sens have a million Swedish prospects. He also has a late birthday, and is about a year older than most other prospects. But, are any of these things really relevant? To be honest I think he just kinda reminds people of Alfie. Swedish leader-type with a three syllable last name. Not that being compared to Alfie is a bad thing....

But each of those players that I mentioned earlier have at least 30 more points than Landeskog this year, albeit more games played. And one could argue that since he's older, the others are a year behind Landeskog in their development. I don't want the Sens to sacrifice a player who ultimately has a higher ceiling just because Landeskog is more likely to step in and make an immediate impact. It also seems like Landeskog benefits from hanging around the front of the net and banging in goals, whereas the other players are creating their chances themselves.

I guess I just don't understand the hype around the guy from what I've seen (stats, youtube highlights), but I trust our scouts to make the decision. I'm gonna check out the 67's game against Kitchener tomorrow and maybe Landeskog will prove me wrong.

Silver Seven Mike Fisher, the celebrity.

Well it's been a long journey for our boy Michael. We've watched him grow over the years from a modest, religious, rugged hockey dynamo to a Dolce and Gabana sunglass wearing celebrity. Not to fault him for that, Alfie was rockin' D&G long before now, but People magazine paid 2 million dollars for the exclusive rights to Fisher and Carrie's wedding photos. He had the three American Idol judges there and he's being written and read about all over North America. You think this might get to his head a little?

Poll
Will the recent celebrity exposure negatively affect Mike's on-ice play in 2011?
Yes, he will play much worse than last year.
