Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician "And just like that...he was gone"

From Jonny Flynn's AIM:  "Home sweet home...PEACE OUT SYRACUSE...best 2 yrs of my life..before I end it for, I gotta say thanks cause not only was it time well spent, it was splendid...F.I.N.A.O (failure is not an option)"

I'm still shocked that he left.  I know he's going high in the first round, but he really did love being here, and I thought that might make him come back.  At least he loved Syracuse more than this:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGQID66agH4

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Can this get anymore crazy?

So by now we know that Jonny Flynn is going, and that Devendorf is probably gone.  However, the one person we thought was gone, Harris, says he never said he was gone and that he's not or hasn't entered the draft, although his own coach said he was.  Now there's this: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2009/news/story?id=4068981

The article was written today, and seems to turn everything upside down again.  Seriously, JB and the PR people need to fix something.  This inner turmoil is actually a bad thing, especially for potential recruits.  I just wish we could get an honest answer as to what is going on here.

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Flynn to the draft...officially

at least according to this article: http://www.wivb.com/dpp/sports/Flynn_ready_to_test_NBA_waters_20090401

I'm not sure if it's true because Boeheim, Gross, or any other Syracuse official hasn't announced it, and Syracuse.com website or the Daily Orange hasn't confirmed it, but this report says that Flynn in person did confirm it.  Let's just hope that Lawson and Jennings outplay him slightly so that he can return for next year.

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician court in the middle of an arena

I know it isn't plausible at the dome because the walls are only about 7 feet off the ground, but I was impressed by the court setup at Lucas Oil Stadium.  I liked the elevated court (although I wish the benches were on the court) and it appeared as if most of the fans had a good view of the court.  obviously we'll see how it works next week in Detroit (although judging from this picture: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:FordField-2008NCAAtournament-MidwestRegional.jpg the seats look much further away than at LOS), and this might have been said on this blog before, but it would be cool for just one game at the dome to be played like that

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician NCAA Not Happy

Anyone else catch the short CBS pregame show (remember before commercials and advertising became so popular and Gumbel and the crew actually had a real pregame and postgame show?)?  Apparently the statement that Jim Calhoun read, which I wrote about being a joke, was so awful that the NCAA is now even more angry with him and his program.  Personally, I think Calhoun should learn how to keep his mouth shut and just avoid this problem when talking to the press.  He really can only hurt himself here, and if he angers the NCAA enough, they could make the penalty harsher.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Nate Mills is our savior?!!

Nate Mills...may he be the one?

You probably are wondering what I mean by "the one."  The one would refer to the one who finally gets rid of the annoying, grouchy, d-bag that is Jim Calhoun.  Think about it, Calhoun loses and blames his team for playing poorly, not the other team for playing well.  He bashes his team.  He shows no compassion for his players.  Just listen to his statement to the press today.  He never denies the allegations or really even references them.  In fact, he goes out of his way to say that he won't lose any wins or championships his team might win this year (because that Big East Championship they won would....oh wait, that's right, they lost in the quarterfinals and he criticized his players for playing 70 minutes of basketball).  I point this particular comment from his entire statement out because it's almost like Pleading the 5th or being OJ Simpson circa 2006-2007.  You aren't saying or confessing to being guilty, but you are saying "if I am guilty..." or "if I did it....", and thus you are pretty much saying that you expect to be guilty but look at the bright side.

While I never would wish anything bad on a human (besides Curt Schilling, Thabeet, Jeff Adrien (anyone see his pre-game huddle throat slash on TV today?), Keith Smart, D-Gross (jk!?!?!?), Martin Brodeur, Reggie Miller, Bill Belichick, and Kevin Millar), Calhoun just seems like a bad person.  He always, even in this speech, gives off a bad vibe, and seems kind of like a mafia guy, "if you cross me..."  In fact, I am shocked that he is able to recruit that types of players he gets.  I mean seriously, who wants to play for someone that is always criticizing his players, and always seems like he is about to have an aneurysm (bad joke?)?  That's a conspiracy theory for another day (going hand in hand with who is actually running the show on Penn State's football team, because we know JoePa can't bring in the talent he gets by himself), but for now we can only hope that maybe Calhoun will go by the wayside.

Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician Let's go 'Cuse/Final Thoughts on the BET

Hey guys, I am a new member to this blog although I have been reading it for awhile.  I am pumped that Syracuse is back in the tournament, and recently enjoyed being at the Garden for three of the four games.  I also recently started a blog (OrangeCuse Blog) and was hoping that some of you would check it out and possibly leave some feedback.  In the meantime, here is one of my posts that I put up on the blog.
