Chris Duncan made a spectacular diving catch prompting a standing ovation from the crowd of mostly Cardinals Fans in Spring action today. Kip Wells pitched well, getting himself out of jams in the first couple of innings and pitching to contact in true Cards fashion.
Albert looked better today after seeming a bit gimpy in Vero Beach on Tuesday according to my brothers.
Duncan looked comfortable and the dive was a true hit-stealer. He was running in from left field on a ball in no-man's land behind third base. When it seemed inevitable he would give up and get it on the bounce, he dove to our amazement and made a dazzling catch worthy of Jimmy Baseball himself. Stick that in your craw, Andy Van Slyke!
Preston Wilson, however, made a few bonehead mistakes including throwing the ball to noone in particular instead his cutoff and costing a baserunner to advance. His swing is long and loopy and he seems to be desperate at the plate.
Tyler Johnson was effective and efficient, hopefully flashing in-season form.
Spring goes fast and alot has happened to make this year very exciting!
