USF vs Barry - Recap: BASKETBALL!!!

A successful exhibition in the books, and it truly was an exhibition. The game versus Barry was really just a glorified pick up game. The result was never really in doubt, nor did that really...

Softball: Big East Tournament Update

Softball has been kinda screwy this year.  USF was scheduled to play 22 conference game, but thanks to the weather (and some sub-standard facilities), 4 of those games have been canceled.  That...

Note: Outrunner33 put this on his Facebook page, and I asked him to share it here. He's 100% right. Our students got dusted by UCF tonight, and it was embarassing. /Toro Dear USF Students: After tonight, you all have lost your privilege to talk trash and brag. Shame on you. The only thing more embarrassing than losing to UCF twice in one night, is the amount of support our teams received. UCF is about 100 miles from the USF campus. That's about an hour and 45 minutes driving (depending on traffic). Our men's soccer team was playing in the first-round of the NCAA tournament, and our men's basketball team was also playing. Did I mention the fact that we were playing our rival UCF? Well, I counted maybe 15 to 20 students that made that trek across I-4. It really is sad that only 15 to 20 students out of a campus of nearly 40,000 students went to support our teams. Last year, when UCF played in Tampa for both men's soccer and men's basketball, they brought around 50 students to the soccer match, and upwards of 200 students to the basketball game. In other words, we suck and just got one-upped by UCF. How is it that we can't even come close to matching those numbers? To add to all this, I have found out that only 5,000 of the 12,501 student tickets have been claimed for this Saturday's game against conference foe Pittsburgh. This is essentially a playoff game for the Big East Championship, and we can only muster 5,000 students? It truly is embarrassing.
