Alabama looks to continue its dominance with another route of Ole Miss, but the Rebels look to be somewhat improved over a year ago.

Apparently the knee injury to Blue may be more serious than most initially anticipated. Still have great tailback depth in Baton Rouge, but Blue is arguably the best of the bunch.

That may be a bit excessive, but we'll see. Also, in the big SEC game of the weekend, Georgia is a 14-point favorite over Tennessee.

Interesting, considering that Hill obviously did not qualify at 'Bama and was long since known to have academic issues. Schad also adds that the MSU booster provided benefits for five or six other State athletes, including JUCO transfer Denico Autry. Of course, the source is here is questionable at best and Schad is a worthless hack, so take this one with a grain of salt about the size of the south Sahara.

Four LSU football players, including linebacker Tahj Jones, have been declared academically ineligible for the 2012 football season, a source close to the program said Tuesday. Also out for the season are senior tight end Tyler Edwards, sophomore linebacker D.J. Welter and sophomore offensive lineman Evan Washington. Jones was the only player of the four who was a starter. He has been replaced in the lineup by junior Luke Muncie for the Tigers first two games.

Jim Kleinpeter: Four LSU football players academically ineligible for 2012 season Doubt the on-field impact here is too great, but very strange to have four players academically ineligible. Cupcake courses, mandatory study hall and tutoring. Almost have to be trying to mess that up.

Per the Arkansas Daily Gazette beat writer, Tyler Wilson was in street clothes for practice today. Another Arkansas beat writer has this photo as visual confirmation. Things could change, I suppose, but for now it looks highly unlikely that Wilson will play against 'Bama on Saturday afternoon. At the least, the betting class certainly expects he will miss. Alabama opened as a 14-point favorite in Vegas, but that line has since soared the past two days to 22 points.

Alabama picked up its first commitment of the 2014 recruiting class on Friday night when Northridge junior running back Bo Scarbrough committed to the Crimson Tide, according to a report from The Crimson White. "It’s been on my mind since day one and I was trying to hold out until my 12th grade year, but I couldn’t hold it anymore," Scarbrough told the Crimson White. "I just want to say "Roll Tide." "I looked at every school and I saw what types of backs they had, and I think I’ll fit perfectly in Alabama’s offense," Scarbrough said. "I want to run behind lineman like D.J. Fluker and play in the backfield with backs like T.J. Yeldon."

Matt Scalici: Five-star RB Bo Scarbrough commits to Alabama No major surprise given the location, but a major recruiting pick-up nevertheless. Scarbrough looks to be one of the top players nationally in the 2014 class, and with his size he could possibly project to several different positions.

Two LSU veteran players' status for the 2012 season opener is in limbo as an academic appeal process unfurls. Tigers' Coach Les Miles confirmed Monday that tailback Michael Ford and outside linebacker Tahj Jones have some eligibility issues to scale before No. 3-ranked LSU takes on North Texas at 6 p.m. Saturday at Tiger Stadium.

NOLA.com | LSU running back Michael Ford, linebacker Tahj Jones appealing academic status As mentioned earlier today, no real test for LSU on the schedule until mid-season, but this could be a bit of a chink in the armor if these two miss the season. Ford, the leading rusher a year ago, could probably be adequately replaced by the triumvirate of Blue, Hilliard and Ware, but the loss of Jones -- who was expected to start at linebacker -- could be a bigger problem on what is expected to be one of their weaker units.
