Just wanted to send you a update on how Walker is doing so far with New Mexico State.  A huge difference with him as coach.  The entire team is playing as a "team"! It hasn't been pretty, but the results have showed a 3 and 3 record so far.  Major improvement is self disclipline as a overall team!  He is making you all proud!

As of local sources in New Mexico it seems that Walker will become the new Head Coach for New Mexico State.  He had a meeting in Las Cruces with Timm Rosenbach the former Washington State quarterback coach.  Rumors have it, that he will become Walker's Offensive Coordinator.  The announcement of the hire may take place this morning.  Nothing has become official from the school or Walker as of yet.

According to the Los Angelos Daily News, Walker is going to meet NMSU adminstrative officals on Monday, and will tour the campus.  According to the article if the job is offered to him, he will take it.  A job offer has not been offered yet. I think that he will take it, and do a great job there.  Maybe its time to start calling Rocky Long up.  However, the article also stated that Ken Norton Jr. would want the job. 

According to the Union-Tribune in San Diego, Rocky Long is the possible new DC for San Diego State. That would be a great pickup for them.  The guy really knows defense. I really think that Long will do a great job in turning that program over.  He did wonders at UNM but never got passed the Utah schools.  UNM never had problems with his defense, it was just the offensive output, and being able to beat Utah and BYU.
