Harden, Ibaka, and '12 and '13 Offseason Strategy
More below the jump.
An Obscure Milestone
Even if they lose their final two games, this year's team's win% will make them the only team in franchise history with a a better win% than at least one of the KG-era teams. Before this season, the top 11 Wolves teams in franchise history all involved KG.
EDIT (H/T Eric in Madison): They'll just be the best non-KG team in franchise history. I forgot about his 26-56 rookie season. I think I got mixed up because I remember thinking that they had a chance to be the first non-KG team to win at least 30 games.
'11-'12 Lessons Learned
This is meant as an open thread for other people to post what they've learned about the team this year, but my thoughts are below the jump.

Should KG "Have Nothing Positive to Say"? (With Poll)
You've probably read it by now. The majority seem to be criticizing him and saying how Kevin Love is better. But I'd rather not assume that quality responses are best found on Twitter or the Strib boards.
D-Will's D praised in Pruiti's latest Rookie Rankings
Although Rubio is no longer on the list, the #4 entry reveals some things that aren't often associated with the "other" top rookie.
Wolves Trades: The Elephant in the Room
A popular topic is trades, for obvious reasons. Most speculation is based on who they need and/or who they can get, which is great in this context because it centers around being in playoff contention; however, there's an element that needs to play a significant role in a league where teams are generally hesitant to make in-season deals. More after the jump.

Q to those who have sold tix on StubHub or eBay
I just got season tickets for the first time for next season, and I'm just curious whether anyone on this site has successfully sold single-game tickets by using electronic delivery on either site. I bought one seat, and they're second level, so I know both of those put me at a disadvantage when selling. It's important to me to understand how to do these things because of that disadvantage.
The rest of this is to fill the word requirement. When I bought my 10-game pack, I was going to try selling the Heat game, but wasn't sure how to do it because the tickets were mailed to me. I'm also starting to notice that the online account for ticket holders doesn't easily show a downloadable version of those tickets, and I'm concerned that it will be the case for next season as well. The Wolves have their own ticket exchange, but it's probably not as large of a market as the other two sites. Long story short: has anyone tried selling their tickets electronically? How is it done?
3PT Shooting Problems: Exception or Rule? (With Poll)
Did Kurt Rambis do a better job at getting guys to make 3s than Rick Adelman is doing? More below the jump.
Who Should Play?
I'm nervous. You can probably guess why, but the explanation is below the jump.
Reusse: Adelman's staff brings a new atmosphere
There are some interesting tidbits in here about the previous regime and the rationale for Adelman coming here.
Success of Teams who Changed Coaches during the Last Lockout
When it comes to the effect that Rick Adelman might have on this franchise's success next season, a major question seems to be how much the lockout negatively affects teams with new teams. Though I think the lockout actually increased their chances of getting Adelman and not ending up with, say, the guy who became his lead assistant or the guy (SMitch) who was demoted from assistant coach to scout with the Nets, this question is still interesting.
What the Post-Lockout '99 Season Could Say about This Season
I've been hoping to write this for a long time, and here we are. What might the teams who significantly increased or decreased their win %s after the last lockout indicate about what to expect from the Wolves? More after the jump.

Penn State
I know this is a Wolves site, but I'm interested to hear the opinions of others about this issue. More below the fold.
Will a new CBA actually benefit the Wolves?
I apologize if this has been written about, and I missed it. More below the fold.
Should the Wolves be Contracted?

Two Lockout-Related Options (with Poll)
Options and poll below the jump.
Amnesty 2.0: Who would you drop from the Wolves? (Poll Included)
After seeing this article on Grantland, it got me thinking about who the Wolves should drop. In order to make this post long enough, I'll also include who I'd like to see dropped from other teams and see the Wolves pick up.
Adelman still being sought for in-person interview
In similar news, I'm still trying to find a girlfriend with a Master's degree who looks like Kim Kardashian.
One thing I'm interested in: does this indicate that one person (Kahn or Taylor) is more in charge of this process than the other? I'd say this news has Kahn's hands on it, but I'm not sure. The article also mentions that if/when Adelman declines to interview, they'll likely choose between Nellie and Sam.
UPDATE: Ric Bucher is reporting that Adelman will meet with the Wolves on Tuesday. My search hasn't progressed as nicely, unfortunately.
Souhan: SMitch the frontrunner?
He's mentioned this in his two most-recent blog posts, and it seems to corroborate what Jerry Z has said on Twitter: if Glen Taylor has the final say, square peg, meet round hole (the last part is just my analysis of how his hire would play out).
I'm sorry, I have to keep speaking on this one: I mean, really, Glen? Why does my favorite team have to be one of the organizations where nonbasketball people make the biggest basketball decisions? As a fan, I'm torn between wanting the team to succeed and worrying about the horrible precedent it sets to have the owner running the show. While I'm at it, don't have courtside seats next to your team's bench! In what way is that a not a negative for the coaches/players?
Kelly Dwyer is a Moron
On what planet does "Larry Brown and Sam Mitchell will both interview for the Wolves head job" mean "Larry Brown and Sam Mitchell are the finalists for the Wolves head job"? I can't believe journalism like this gets a national platform.
A Brief History of Reviving Losing Teams
Often, discussions about improving teams are based on hypotheticals or quick fixes. But I also think it's instructive to figure out how past franchises have turned themselves around. So here's the basic premise: find the teams in the post-no-hand-check era (starting in '04-05 season) that had a two-season stretch of fewer than 45 wins combined and revisit the decisions they made to return to a positive SRS (the statistical measure from basketball-reference.com where 0 indicates an average team).

Funny NBA drama right now: #2 pick is being frantically shopped, but everyone is scared to negotiate with T-Wolves cuz they leak EVERYTHING.
From Bill Simmons' Twitter. My questions: does anyone in the know whether either/both of these are true? Honestly, I don't need to know every possibility before it happens if that means the team loses value in a deal because of that.
Favorite Wolves Players Ever?
This is obviously a little different than best players ever, but it's an interesting talker and gives some perspective on who fans like or don't like, because that often affects whether they think those guys are good. The best example I can think of currently plays for the Twins: Jose Mijares. I cringe when he comes in the game, and no one I know likes him as a player, but his career stats indicate an above-average lefty bullpen guy. My top 10 are below the jump; feel free to list as few or many as you want and provide comments.
Why I Like Mike Wilbon
I'm sure at least some of you participate in and/or read ESPN NBA chats. Since Mike Wilbon started doing them, I've been reading every week, and his answers are just excellent in breaking down moron fans. Some highlights from this week are below the fold.
Basketball-Reference: Losing Your (Inefficient) Leading Scorer Hurts Your Team
As the piece says, "(I)t is a strong piece of evidence in favor of those who say it is hard to compensate for the loss of any high-usage player." Basically, it's an argument that, more often than not, a team is better off having a high-usage player on their team, even if the guy is inefficient.
Derrick Williams interviews w/Suns, Celtics?
In the Strib piece about Derrick Williams' interview at the combine with the Wolves, it's also mentioned that he also interviewed with the Suns and the Celtics. There seems to be no other logical reason than interest in him as a player that these teams would interview him. With that in mind, what would they need to do to pry that pick away from the Wolves?

How Much Would the Wolves Need to Get to Trade their 1st Pick (w/Poll)?
To me, the question isn't whether the Wolves should trade their pick but how much value they need to get back to consider it. Personally, this draft class seems more like '06 than any other class because it's possible that some guys who slip to the late lottery could use that as motivation to become great players. It's also possible that some of the better athletes who are a bit raw with their skills could end up as the best players if they are motivated to be great and end up with a team that will help them get there. With that in mind, it doesn't seem like a top 4 draft pick has the best long-term benefit, as it does in other drafts. In your responses, you can obviously assume that value is partially dependent on which pick they end up getting.
David Stern "knows where the bodies are buried"
I thought about making this a FanPost but decided against it. This is fascinating to me; what do others think about it? I'm mostly fascinated by the word choice and what it says about Stern's jovial facade, but I'm sure others also might want to comment on the potential lockout and the inevitable delay in Rubio's arrival.
The second-best quote in the article (after the one in the title) is what Billy Hunter said to Stern at some point this year: "I don’t know where you were raised, but I lived with rats. I used to kill rats. We had a .22 rifle and we would lay in the kitchen and shoot them on the floor. One thing my grandmother taught me was that if you got a rat trapped, you’ve got to give his ass a way out, because he will fight you if he has to. If you don’t give us a way out, a chance for a compromise, you’re going to get a fight."
March Madness Guide to NBA Prospects
Or, as it could be known, the Ben Woodside corollary. One of the big debates between Bill Simmons and Chuck Klosterman when it comes to pro vs. college basketball is that Simmons thinks of college in terms of pro suitability and Klosterman solely thinks of them as college players. I think I side with Klosterman: college success should be viewed on its own merits and not closely connected to pro hoops. A lot of sports fans I know watch the NCAA Tournament and come to the conclusion that NCAA Tournament success correlates directly to NBA success. Generally, these are the same people who thought Todd Bouman was a better QB than Daunte Culpepper in their primes. Here are some general thoughts about NCAA players and their NBA suitability.
