Just watched two games back to back.

First I put in the Gold medal game to see if my memory was correct. I shook my head as Rudy carried Spain for much of the game. Then I jumped up again when he dunked on Howard. I got that giddy feeling again.

Next I found the Summer league game against the Suns. Wow! Bayless was the best player out there and it wasn't close. That guy is just a monster. Maybe we should compare him to something dangerous and aggressive...Maybe like, I don't know...a T-Rex. Yeah, that's a good comparison!

I highly recommend replaying the games before the season starts.

I am so excited about these rookies. And I didn't even include Oden.

The Oden Minutes (revisited)

On Sept. 13, 2007, Greg Oden had surgery on his knee. Many months of rehab were in store for Mr. Oden. He has shown endless energy to get back to our team and I am very proud of him.

Shortly after the surgery, I promised that I would lose 20 pounds during his rehab.

Today I made my goal!

You might think that 20 pounds is nothing. It was difficult. I started at 189 pounds. 169 today.

Everytime that I went for a run, I had some sort of Blazer gear on. Everyday I was reminded that Mr. Oden was in there working hard. It motivated me to do so as well.

Last week, I ran the Prefontaine Classic road run in Coos Bay. I proudly wore my black Oden shirt. I did well too. 287th out of 1250 runners. It was a very satisfying day.

I know that Dave was running his Oden minutes. I'm curious, how did everyone else do?

As far as I know Gabriel has been with the Blazers as a scout since 2004. Seems like he will be missed. Portland's best drafts in years has come at a time when Gabriel was here and remember that he was voted Executive of the year when he was in Orlando. Maybe he thought that his job here was done. Now he can move on to another rebuilding project.

Happy Trails, John

I'm a little confused about when and if it'll be live.

schedule here gives you the USA channel.

But what time will it play PST? On FRIDAY MORNING

I have the whole block recorded. Is it at 7am? or 5am?

I'm really liking Rudy's game. Now that Dave has broken Rudy down defensively, what will you be looking for? Team play, rotation ability, floor awareness or something else.

This is the last game that I'll be tearing apart. For me, the gold medal game will be just for enjoyment and entertainment.

The Rookie Game (updated)

Now that we've had a chance to look at Rudy, I thought I'd ask a question that will be on our collective minds early in the season. Can the Blazers get 3 first year players to the All-Star extravaganza to play in the Rookie game?

When Roy and LMA were rookies, LMA was locked out. Will Portland be the media darling and get everyone in?

I'm betting on 2 Blazers on the team, but what do you think?

What will each player have to average in order to make the rookie game?

Here are the stats from some of last years players (nba.com):

Durant 20.3 pts. 4.4 rebs. 2.4 ast.

Horford 10.1, 9.7, 1.5

Moon 8.5, 6.2, 1.2

Navarro 10.9, 2.6, 2.2

Conley 9.4, 2.6, 4.2

Jianlian 8.6, 5.2, .8

Scola 10.3, 6.4, 1.3

Stern: Iranian Center forbidden to play in the NBA

I know that this might turn into a politics or governmental policies fanpost, but I thought it was very interesting. I don't think that Stern has a choice here.

Yahoo sports Story

I'm unsure if the Center in question is ready today to play, but how is he different than Cuban players playing baseball. Must he renounce his home country for this to change, or is he stuck.

Note to Dave: If this is something that shouldn't be posted here. Please delete this and tell everyone to go to a politics website. Thanks.

I just had to watch a game after the schedule came out. I put in the summer league game vs. Phoenix. Bayless scored 36, but I couldn't believe the impact that Hill had on that game defensively. If Koponen goes to Europe or his rights are traded, does anyone think that Hill could make the 15th spot?
I also read that Hill was brought in to work with Oden. I'm betting that he at the very least gets a camp invite.

This is from the Hoopshype rumors page. Scroll down about 1/2 the page. The link is not in English, so if anyone can translate it, I'd be grateful.

Thanks to Tominhawaii for letting me know how to link in a Fanpost. I thought this was good info to share and it also gave me some practice.

I really thought that Green would have stuck in the NBA. I was a little surprised by this news.
