ptbnl???
I doubt that the player that we will get back from the Bradford trade will be a proven commodity, but does anybody have an idea of who it may be? I don't know too much about the Rays farm system but I do know that it is adverised as one of the best. I figure that the trade for Bradford had to have been more than just a total salary dump. He wasn't incredibly expensive and I feel like Andy is slick enough to pull a nice little prospect out of that deal. Also, who has an idea of when we may find out?
Classic Earl Weaver getting tossed! Great audio!
Looking for a George Sherrill flat bill pic...
Help me out everyone. I've searched the web for a picture to demonstrate to my friends just how money George Sherrill's flat billed ballcap is. I love nothing more than to see an Orioles closer seal the deal on a ballgame in the ninth, but when you've got one that rocks a rediculous flat bill like George Sherrill does...priceless. So come on people, has anyone taken a nice pic of George at OPACY?
O's win big without playing
The Orioles are so rediculously good at the moment that they were able to pick up a 1/2 game on the entire AL East tonight without even taking the field. Thats right, they all lost tonight and it was a thing of beauty to watch as I had my mlb.com account fired up and was able to bounce between all of the games. Tomorrow nights double header is huge because if we win at least the first game, than we are at least 3 games up on every team in the division and a win in the second game may put us even higher. An odd scenario after only seven games into the season. I'm guessing it's that "Orioles Magic" thing...cue the song
who's in first?/ticket price economics
The Baltimore Orioles have somehow backed into 1st place in the American League East (tied with the Devil Rays)! Everything that could have went our way tonight did and it felt damn good so ride the high while you can birdland (it even felt corny writing birdland).
For discussion, why doesn't the front office keep ticket prices stable for Sux/Spankees games and lower the price of a ticket considerably for all other games? It is flat out jaw dropping to see that in the third game of a new season, there are entire sections of the ballpark that are fanless and even the good seats are sparsley filled. If you reduce prices by 1/2 and are able to get over twice as many fans, don't you win? I understand that this sends the message that the front offices realizes that the franchise is desperate, but lets face it aren't we?
