I just finished reading Pittsburgh Post-Gazette sportswriter Ron Cook's most recent abomination of his trade:

I could type all day like Jack Kerouac in condemnation of Cook's piece of crap, but it's not worth the time and effort. I'm not getting paid for this.

But Ron Cook is. If you don't want to have anything to do with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Mr. Cook, then head elsewhere. I'm sure there's an opening somewhere in Podunk Township, PA for a sportswriter of your lofty caliber and pellucid prose.

There are many who care about the Pittsburgh Pirates, even after 17 years of losing.

Hundreds of them regularly contribute on the Bucs Dugout site, for example.

When the Pirates win again, we will celebrate. It may take several more years, but it will happen.

You won't be invited to the party, Mr. Cook.
