Great Crennel Bio
Wanna feel good about the new hire? Check out this bio from 2005
Jerrell Powe - my new favorite chief
Sorry if this has been posted before. I liked the guy before, but jeez after this you feel like starting a fan club. If you get a chance watch the whole thing - it gets pretty darn good about the 4 minute mark. I really had no idea how how much he had been thru just to get to this point. good luck man

Any word on Tyson Jackson?
This was for me probably the biggest potential downside to last night's big win. Dorsey is (as he should) receiving some pub for his performance, but IMHO this was probably Jackson's best game to date. Would be kind of tragic if he misses significant playing time after really showing some promise last night. That knee injury looked kinda scary
Crennel and Weis have a personal history
If I could figure out the sarcasm font, I would have used it here....
Spotlight on free agents
Here's a quick/fun photogallery of some of the top free agents available next year. Who's your pick?
George Michaels dies
Not chiefs related necess, but sad to hear. Anybody else use to stay up late to watch "The Sports Machine" . Loved the way he called the plays of the month. He seemed to move things along quickly and was a bit ahead of his time if you ask me.
Anybody have a link to a list of next years free agents?
Just curious if anybody had a link to a comprehensive list of all NFL players available via free agency next year. (yes already dreaming of next year)
Quick AP Fantasy Football reminder
Check your league page, but I know Arrowhead Pride League One drafts this weekend (august 29). The different leagues draft at different times so make sure to check your league page. Generic brand, do you have all the draft times and final participants? So cool that we got 3 or 4 leagues going. I was rooting for two and stoked with the interest. Please show up if possible (always more fun with live drafters) If you're not going to be there, it might be cool to leave a message, letting us know ahead of time.

If you're not going to be there, your first look at the new chiefs!
Sorry if this was already posted. As you may know, all NFL preseason games will be on the NFL network (in HD!), of course not all live. The game is on the 15th and it looks like the replay is at 9:00 AM on the 16th
Quick trivia question
Quick and probably easy trivia for you guys - who is the oldest player to ever appear on a superbowl roster?
2009 AP Fantasy League(s)?
Ok so I am getting a little antsy but any thoughts out there about AP fantasy football leagues this year. I imagine that with so many more people around here this year, a single 12 team league would fill up pretty quickly. What about 3-4, 12 team leagues with a means of then deciding the "grand winner"? Would stink though if a bunch of people ruined things by signing up and then bailing. Thoughts?
The Official AP Pierre Walters Wolf Pack

off topic - how much is superfan addition to NFL sunday ticket?
I switched over to direct TV today so I can finally get NFL sunday ticket. Saw that superfan addition for more HD games/red zone etc was extra $, but pricing is not yet available for this year. How much was it last year? I heard that you might be able to get it for free by calling Direct TV and haggling - any truth to this?
The Official AP Sign Daniel Holtzclaw Online Petition
No need for fancy talk. We the undersigned, believe that Dan Holtzclaw has the right stuff to be a Kansas City Chief. We just ask that you, the powers that be, give this guy an opportunity to prove his mettle.

Go Mizzou!
For me the highlight of the day was how well Missouri players did in the draft:
Round
Jeremy Maclin 1
Evander Hood 1
William Moore 2
Chase Coffman 3
Colin Brown 5
Sulak Stryker 6
Chase Daniels UFA signed with Redskins
Thats got to be, if not the best, close to be best draft in Mizzou history.
Off topic, but anybody up for starting a petition to get Holtzclaw a tryout for the chiefs?!? (Somehow I get a sense that Pioli doesnt think much of petitions, though)
Mizzou Pro Day
sorry if already posted but highlighted are macklin, hood, and william moore
Why was Cassel franchised in the first place?
This is not a dig, but a question (I don't pretend to understand the intricacies of this thing). If the patriots didn't want the financial burdens of a first rounder but also didn't want to keep 2 QBs at that salary cap space, then what was the point of franchising cassel? Not like it matters but this is how it seems to have gone done:
1) Patriots franchises Cassel thinking someone is going to offer the moon
2) When they don't get great initial offers they panic a bit
3) Smelling the panic, Pioli lowballs
4) They accept the offer. At the last minute when other teams realize this is going down the put in sweeter bids, but its too late.
On another note what was the point (from the patriots perspective) of giving Vrabel essentially for free? I know that they wanted to free up cap space, but would the chiefs really have turned down a straight up trade of #34 for Cassel? They didn't even ask for a 7th rounder, conditional pick or something? Why not just cut the guy and let him go where he wants?
Its all moot, I know, but would have loved to be a fly on the wall for these negotiations.
View from the other side
Kind of interesting to see the view from the other side:
current totals
33% = horrible trade for NE
10 % = good move for NE
I know its kind of silly without knowing what they got in return, but kinda interesting
Aaron Curry Weighed in at 255??
Truly apologize if this has already been discussed, but I caught this on the SI diary article. Am I reading this right? I know these things can get inflated around combine time but thats a pretty hefty increase if true (listed previously at 240). I will very curious about that 40 time at that weight.
How about clint sintim for the 2nd round?
Yeah I know getting waaay ahead of ourselves but one fun part of the mocks is looking at folks projected for late first rounders and thinking about who might slip into the second. I've seen tyson jackson mentioned a lot here but there would seem to be a "double LSU jinx bust" possibilty. (NO, I think its way to early to label dorsey a bust, but you catch the drift.) Another name that would seem to be a good fit here is clint sintim:
What do you think?

Thanks for a great year!
Mainly a lurker here but a quick thanks to the mods for making this my one "stop shop" for all things chiefs. The amount of original content that you guys have put out this year is pretty impressive. Breaking out those stats takes time, I know. Keep up the good work for 2009. If this is what you guys are able to do in a "down" chiefs year, I can only imagine what will come when this trainwreck finally turns around!
