The Denver Post has a quick article as to why the Dbacks are going to win the west. So not it is not only the national media but the local media in Colorado.....how great is this?

I know this was covered before here, but it looks like we have some more details on the new screen in centerfield. It looks as though the Dbacks and Daktronics are going to be able to deliver the "biggest and best" screen in MLB, if not all sports stadiums in the US.

I definitely like the fact that they can have two 16:9 screens right next to each other....lets just hope they actually show replays this year or this is a big waste of money....

Check out more info Here if you want

Is anyone going to go to an AFL game or two? I see Jim went to a few last year and was wondering if anyone else from the pit was going to go.

I would love to meet up with a few pit people and go to a game or two. To be honest my wife is burnt out on baseball (she hung tough, but just hasn't had a team still playing in October very often as she is from LA...haha) and has no desire to go see a game.

I guess I could do a game by myself, but I just don't want to be that guy.

So, is anyone going to games and/or thinking about it, but don't have anyone to go with?

I am not sure which games or what days, but I live in N.Central Phoenix so I would prefer PHX, Scottsdale or Peoria as the home location.

Let me know if anyone is down

How special they both must feel, having an open gameday thread set up by the Snakepit just for them.

Does Melvin actually deserve credit?

I am sorry if this has been covered already, but I have been away and didn't see anything recently.

I am not a huge fan of Melvin as a manager. I think he is adequate and does okay, but just not a big fan of some decisions (lineup dice, relief use, etc)

One thing I will have to give him credit for. After the Valverde meltdown in SD, he trotted the big man back out there in a 5-5 game in the bottom of the 10th. At first all I could think of was Brenly sending BK out for more abuse and a possible Donnie Moore situation, but then Jose shut them down and looked impressive doing it.

Now here we are a few days later and he has mowed through the 1-3 Dodgers on Friday and 3-5 Dodgers on Saturday in 1 run games.

Knowing how Valverde has melted down in the past, did that extra 10th inning help him get some mojo back and bring back his confidence? I guess no one knows, but at this point, I will have to concede to Melvin
