Nice nugget from TYI article
(The bulls are 30 and 25 this year when Hinrich plays)
"In the Bulls' 30 wins, Hinrich has made 140 of the 313 shots he's taken, a FG% of 44.7. ...in the Bulls' 25 losses, Hinrich has made only 74 of his 228 shots, a FG% of 32.5."
This is fantastic. Unfortunately the video isn't hosted anymore, but check out the PDF comic.

Quick Question (or: let's talk about something other than trade rumors)
Where does everyone go for player and team data and/or statistical analysis? I'm familiar with big names (82games, basketball-reference etc.), but are there any hidden gems out there?
Also, as long as we're on the subject: Who's into non-traditional basketball analysis? Anybody have their own adjusted +/- system or anything like that? Can a player's value be boiled down to a single number? Basically, I'm fascinated with the subject, but mostly clueless and I'd love to hear some discussion by people more knowledgeable than myself.
The image isn't particularly related, but it was too good not to share. Has anyone seen Donaghy's book?
Confirming what we all know
Surprise! We shoot a terrible ratio of 3's to long 2's. It's a shame there weren't any good three point shooters available this summer...
This is not a team built to win games by simply outscoring its opponent, but a team that likes to use the shot clock and get good looks at the hoop.
Vinny's Offensive Sets
I don't really have much to say, but I hope this fanpost can start a discussion about how the Bulls' offense works (or how it should work).
Can anyone with a better knowledge of the game explain the idea behind our offensive sets? It seems like movement away from the ball was infinitely better last night than it was for all of last year. What are we doing differently?
Also, I've always been curious about the "Derrick brings it up, passes to Noah at the top of the key and then hides in the corner for the rest of the possession" play that we seem particularly fond of. I feel like this play often results in Derrick disappearing for stretches (e.g., games 2-7 of the Celtics series). Does anybody know what's going on there?

I was throwing together a logo for my fantasy team in paint and I couldn't not share it.
