Pride Of Detroit (4) 7th Rounders _ Coaching will be KEY factor in LIONS 2010

With all the current trades circulating the NFL these days, especially the LIONS of all teams to finally not be araid to jump to be 2-team, 3-team, maybe even 4-trade trade members in order to get someone the LIONS COACHES feel they could "coach up" and improve in the later rounds of the NFL draft. As of today the LIONS have (4) 7th round draft picks and glancing at the bottom of the board and maybe a package deal to move the the 6th round once or twice, its looking pretty atractivehaving (4) 7th round picks. Take a look at a quick look at some of the players we could get:

Jonathan Crompton QB Tennessee

6' 4" 228

Leigh Tiffin K Alabama

6' 1" 198

Donovan Warren* CB Michigan

6' 0" 182

Freddie Barnes WR Bowling Green

6' 2" 212

Riley Cooper WR Florida

6' 3" 215

Roddrick Muckelroy OLB Texas

6' 2" 230

Alfonso Smith RB Kentucky

6' 1" 208

Perry Riley OLB LSU

6' 2" 245

Brian Jackson CB Oklahoma

6' 1" 202

As you skim this list and say 'its not that bad' or 'id rather have SIMS (cause you own a SIMS jersey and now he's an EAGLE lol sorry man) and a (3) 7th rounders' i bet you could name a couple other players that would get you excited for the new season again and not really mind trades for the better ment of the team.

I BET you can name about 10 players that would be better the the damn MILLEN ERA draft picks

Okay here are my picks thru round 7, i used this website listed below to guide me in reference and to make sure all my picks would be available when i picked them. I do not want to get my head in the clounds like some other mock drafts i see and my draft would impact the entire team cause we cant load up on RB and WR cause we have some nice rookies still that just need some experience

Pride Of Detroit Stafford is no longer considered 'Joey Harrington'

Hello,

As most lions fans watching the game via 'Pride of Detriot' & scanning for good streams of the video, it has become apperant that the quarterback we drafted is no longer in the shadow of the infamous Joey Harrington. For many reasons including lack of production and ability to lead the Detroit Lions to an era of prosperity, Stafford has been compared to Joey Harrington and to me this implication would lead many to believe that all the money, time and emotions invested in him, by our loyal Lions observers, would be a total waste because of the ability of the entire Lions team to support him. But by the actions displayed versus the Clevland Browns shows the shine that Stafford is able to bring to the 'Beloved Lions Organization'. I know he did obtain a substantial injury to his non-throwing arm and is unlikey to play on Thanksgiving, but to even keep the hope alive would be a building block to this entire franchise and the entire 'Pride of Detroit' fan base. If he would even attempt his consecutive starts after the injury and his heroic play, after the peaks and valleys displayed on every rookie quarterback, i would back him for the entirty of his contract here in Detoit. This is a guy that we need, and need to show our emotions of how and what we expect out of him. With every QB trying to find their focus and motivation in the NFL, i think we as Lions faithful should turn our support lights on and make it clear that this is the team he should lead, nevertheless this is the team that wants him to lead. With every passing day we see more and more effort coming out of his lions team mates and willingness to extend themselves to be as great as they can be is a ray of f'ing sunshine, and as lions fans we need to reflect that right back to this team and be a 'ray of sunshine' for the future and especially for more courageous wins.

Thank you,

Pride Of Detroit 10,000 seasons

According to AccuScore, here were the results when Favre was the Vikings' quarterback:

  • Minnesota won 42 percent of the seasons
  • Green Bay won 30 percent
  • Chicago won 28 percent
  • Detroit won 0 percent.

Without Favre, and with Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels splitting snaps for the Vikings, it was essentially a three-way tie:

  • Green Bay won 34 percent of the seasons
  • Minnesota won 34 percent
  • Chicago won 32 percent
  • Detroit won 0 percent

That's right. The fellas at AccuScore didn't have the Lions winning the NFC North title in any of the 20,000 total simulations run. I guess there's always next year.

To kinda of extend on last weeks MADDEN 2010 ratings, this week of "Better Luck Next Year Detroit Lions" continues with Seiferts comments about the whole 10,000 seasons that were simulated with/without Farve. This shows thw Lions not winning 1 season out of 10,000 seasons!!! i still think the ratings given on Sports Games directly reflects the outlook everyone has on this team and its Expectations. To go as far as 10,000 seasons with Drafts/Free Agents/Player Development and everything the lions were still unable or not allowed to win 1 season with LUck/Skill/Ratings on their side.

This only displays the growing preception that the LIONS will not win and have very little,if any chance at all at turning this ship around. To be negative and condicending is not good but what would be an adequete move to improve...i mean a change in OWNERSHIP?change in spending HABITS (ie REDSKINS money is no thang) what would help us win 1 season out of 10,000??

What happened to the DRAFT and FREE Agents as well???10,000 season we have to hit another BARRY SANDERS again or something.......

Are these teams really that good? (not likely) Are these teams 1 player away from superbowl?? (maybe Vikings without injury)Are these teams really that good against us?Spygate or what i mean seriously lock up ALLEN PARK throw some WILDCAT/SHOTGUN/2MIN Drills and get it together!!

and even so if everyone thinks the Vikings are 1 player away from the superbowl.....we almost beat you ....TWICE...0-16 season...and still almost had your number....what does that tell you?? that they are not really the team they say they are?but i digress...

This is almost turning into another BCS ordeal with a CONCIL making the results or matchups or Schedules and not letting DIVISION-2A teams (LIONS) get a chance or given the opportunity to be the next BOISE STATE,UTAH,APP STATE...

BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR??? i would hope everyone is saying THIS IS OUR YEAR! AND NEXT YEAR ILL BE BACK EVEN BETTER!after giving you everything i got this season.

Is it just me or does MADDEN lower the rankings of players just cause they are on the LIONS?? look at LB FOOTE rankings does he deserve that? and just skimming through the roster has me scratching my head because of the disrespect shown my not only the media but fans themselves...me as a FAN always think my players are better than people rank them but thats just being positive and looking forward....

and since Coach says there is no depth chart this is the closest thing we could get to actually evaluate our players and they give us this.....even look at QB Stanton hes like 47 --with that rating drop him right now and pick up another Vet...

Side Note: I think Matt Millen used the Madden rankings to compile his rosters lol....that goes to show you how off these evaluations can be...what a joke on some of these....

Does anyone agree with me or agree with the rankings of MADDEN????

Pride Of Detroit Sports @ Work is Better than Work @ Work

hello,

good morning to all,was just checking in on the Lions FanBase of what you expect out of this next season and what other Moves you would like the lions to make such as free agents or cuts before camp or even just an attitude adjustment which has been discussed in previous articles to go as far as saying that the atmosphere is turned for the best...wining only inspires more wining! right?

me personally would like the lions really to focus on the D-Line and maybe a couple more signings for depth and competition in camp....as well would love the lions try to reach out to the fans (although really love that 'Address the Franchise' letter by the Head Coach)

why not see the lions on HARD KNOCKS? coming off of the 0-16 season and with all these new faces and coaches its obvious to see that the mentality has changed and focus is on wining! not wining the super bowl but just wining and we will see where that takes us...imagine seeing DELMAS & PETERSON & FOOTE all running their mouth about which part of detroit is the best can you imagine what type of hype that will bring to the city/fans/teams.

Of course we will get all the bad talk as well and put people in the spotlight that may ordinarily not want it or like it but when has anyone ever approached the DETROIT LIONS for anything other than there thoughts on another LOSING SEASON and who their pick is for the new head coach for next season...lol

Im just being optimistic and expanding the preverbal BOX to look at future chances and as well future NFL PLAYERS  that would like to come to an upcoming franchise....new coach new players new GM (same as Millen with less false starts haha ie george foster joke)

Let me know if im crazy or if im just drinking THE MAGIC KOOL-AID that turns colors (awsome stuff) or just the normal things will be better and nothing changes .....HOPE FOR THE BEST PREPARE FOR THE WORST

GO LIONS!!!!! 9-7 WILD CARD PLAYOFFS
