------Carter, Briere, and Hartnell should not be on the same line together. We have two shooters and a power forward. No playmakers and no defense. WTF is Stevens thinking putting three bad defensive forwards together. No wonder our first line's +/- sucks.

------Carcillo got more ice time than Gagne or Asham tonight. I'm not even going to explain this one...

----- Why are Coburn and timmonen together, they have not been well all season.

----- Lapierre should not be on a line with giroux and gagne, and most definitely not centering it.

The fact that we have lost our first three preseason games does not worry me. What worries me is our work ethic and the discipline. Loosing in preseason is nothing to be concerned about. Its how we lost. We have continued on a pattern of undisciplined and relaxed play for too long.Things like work ethic and discipline don't change in regard to different line mates or games that don't count.

My first thought is that Stevens is not the right coach. I've felt this way since he was hired and I don't think he is the right coach for this team. Yes, he got us to the ECF, but we really did not even compete in that series. He just doesn't seem to be able to get the necessary stuff out of the team. I also think from listening to interviews of him, he is also to relaxed.

Secondly I believe Richards should not be this team's captain. Right now a veteran captain such as Kimmo, or the longest tenured flyer; Simon Gagne would be a better fit. Neither is known for their tough play, but they are known for getting the job done. We have been fixated with the Broad Street Bullies; this is not the 70s any more. Its time to move on. Playing like the BSB won't win us a thing. The league is not nearly as tolerant as they were back then. This theme of bringing back Broad Street is one of the reasons we have been taking so many undisciplined penalties. I want a tough team but not one that is tough as the BSB.

On a lighter note, is anyone else excited for Tuesday when Gagne comes back? How much ice time do you guys think he will get?
