The Phinsider I HAVE BEEN A LITTLE HARD ON GINN I STILL LIKE HIM

I will agree 10=14 lbs of mass will help him, but somewhere he saw someone or himself got hit hard (most likely someone else)  When I was in collage we had this cat who heard  footsteps in his sleep. Dropped balls the entire time trough his 1st 2 yrs. In the middle of his second season Coach decided to beat this dude up, now I don’t agree with all his tactics but the result was fabulist.  Basically, He sent him across the middle in practice like 10 times and he got clobbered..

The receiver was cracked, droped, hit pretty hard and not enough to kill him. Just enough, to let him feel the outcome.

The next week against West Ala he held on to the ball and had much better confidence, 7-94 yard’s best game of his life, till the fowling week. 134 yard’s. Ginn I feel has shown this same problem sure he made catches and improved a lot but FOOTSTEPS……  He doesn’t need competition he needs a mentor, like Carter to Moss.  Carter made bad decisions off field and mentored Moss at Minn. Hell Carter got better and Moss became an all pro…….

Beat him up or get him a mentor??? Bobby Engram??? Shaun McDonald. You know I’m only thinking that this kid (Ted Ginn) needs a mentor to reach his potential.  Look lot’s of fans here has a grasp of salary cap issues and I really know where the Fins stand (good) and when you’re going for the big dance you spend some cash... You get the limo, corsage, dinner, photos (bingo open sesame). I don’t know for sure but I feel this is the right move, a cheap vet who knows about lost chances.

The Phinsider LOVE THE FACT PARCELLS GET'S A REAL DRAFT FOR THE FINS

Ok two o linemen

one  wideout

two d lineman

two CB's and search the free agency, for a RB or give cobbs the chance..........

With protection any of our QB's can do it

maybe trade Porter while he's hot????? Sign Crouder??? MUST SIGN  BELL.....

pray Greg Carmello comes back 100% Martin also/ and Smilley.

Now I know alot about Pro Football..... Porter will cause a cap hit except if someone was interested with a player who we had a need for like Cinn???????? , T.J.Houshmandzadeh  Look Im not looking for a fight   so slow your roll stay in your lane.. Chad Johnson could work. This is only one team who could use Porter.. There is many more...

But this is not my post it's about Bill........and what he knows and has made his own, Erhardt - Perkins offensive system.  Run to pass, run to control the clock, run to win, Pass to score. thus the T E game... the O Line will get more help, and dont be suprised if we trade one or more of our R B's and mark my word Allen may go,

Bill Parcells is the only coach in N.F.L. history to take four different teams to the playoffs well five now....

most likely........Goodman suspect, and yey this post mentioned below right on.The Tuna will shake up the draft.. He will find Talent off the streets and more future draft picks...... Relax the Tuna has this and next year will as good with a better record and a posible AFC Championship

GREAT POST BY  NJDolphan68 http://www.thephinsider.com/2009/1/8/713869/secret-tuna-recipe

The Phinsider SHAPING UP FOR 2010 "THANKS DOLPHINS"

LETS FACE IT GOOD TYPING DOESN'T MAKE YOU AN EXPERT.............

NOW TO THE FACTS AND JUST THE FACTS.............................MATTY GOOD JOB...

Finsxfactor smart and thoughtful post thanks, Little Nickey also good post, Husk steady and consistent, Krab your a solid fan with a mean streek, Rzayo Good job this yr getting to the paper and on the  radio your a driven fan, Neo solid fan, so many I missed so many good fans,                                                                                                                                                                                           Reality now

Struggled to run the ball and protect Pennington, a reflection of an offensive line that's a work in progress. As long as I can remember (longer than most have been fan's) our O line has been shit Dan could have had the ring..........no O line......

over and over the story  goes.....If I  was in charge I would spend the bank on the O line. Could you as a D lineman stepping to the line on every 3rd ply and say to yourself who the f is this guy..I would be deep on the O line .......Ronnie and Rickey are as good as they come,  belive that, Not such a good O line.. CP and Henne desirve it, we as fans desirve it..V Carrey is getting tired but has game and a little gas in the tank..maybe a trade.. o line first

The thinnest area is receiver, with Miami's wideouts totaling only five touchdowns all year. Look Ginn will get better with competition...........Bess already gets it. Ginn needs some encouragement....... Chad Johnson??? Boldin??Bobby Engram,Shaun McDonald, ?????? just thoughts The Tuna Can spot tallent at the fish market............

The dolphins  defence needs a sack artist also and (one or two ) CB's

Ok two o linemen

one  wideout

two d lineman

two CB's and search the free agency, for a RB or give cobbs the chance..........

With protection any of our QB's can do it

maybe trade Porter while he's hot????? Sign Crouder???

pray Greg Carmello comes back 100% Martin also/ and Smilley.

These questions will be answered but not by us but Bill ..................

The Phinsider Baltimore has no choice to respect the Dolphins

“You are still searching: Who are we?” Miami cornerback Andre Goodman told the South Florida Sun Sentinel Monday. “We didn’t know who we were, but now I think we have a pretty good idea.

Derrick Mason “They were a hard team the first time.”

“We’re going to pull from the whole season and the preseason, just like we always do,” Harbaugh explained. “They are what they were last week, and you try to anticipate what they’re going to be next week.

“You can tell they work hard every day to get better, so we’re impressed with them.”

The Ravens bring it each week Ed Reed can join my team any day. He can pick the ball at the hotdog stand and take it to the house, hotdog and ball in hand, scarey...

Le'Ron McClain 260-pound fullback who has emerged as a bruising leader in Baltimore’s trio of runners, has totaled 531 yards on 133 carries in the last six contests (88.5-yard average per game).

Tood Heap and Mark Clayton have made more of an impact in the passing game after Derrick Mason dominated the receivers Clayton more than others still Ed Reed is my conceren. I will never doubt Heap.. These fuckers bring the D... I pray Martin can go 100%  The TE's are Key against the Ravens .......... The wide outs get picked the running game is stiffled. the short passing game is key to beatting these guys.........I love he way Miami spreaded the d last wk a sign of a winning team. If you think for one min that he fins can win without Martin, your in the minority.. Martin plus Fasono is our key to going all the way, sure the r&r will have there moments and some large..

QB Chad Pennington on the production rookie WR Davone Bess– "He's quarterback friendly. He understands how to get open, understands how to run routes and work defenders and is really patient. There's a lot to be said to be quarterback friendly. A lot of people don't understand what that means or how important that is to a quarterback and he does a great job of understanding angles and getting open in the spots." It's going to be a war for sure our D has to be stout our dink and dunk has to be 100% OH yey we got this but the Ravens are ready.

The Phinsider FUX THE JETS THEY NEED A ASS WHOOPPING

IM GONNA DROP A BOMB ON YO ASS..................JETS

Dolphins are benefiting from Pennington's leadership. Don't kid yourself, the Jets gift-wrapped this South Florida resurgence when they cut Pennington loose on Aug. 6. Two days later, he was in Miami and four months later he could end the Jets' season Mangini probably gets the ax is if the Dolphins slaughter the Jets,

Jets didn't even bother to try to steer the quarterback to a team they wouldn't be competing against. The Dolphins were happy to sign Pennington to help make a 1-15 team respectable.

Pennington has done more than that, and with a win over the Jets, the 10-5 Dolphins would be AFC East champions. If the Jets win, Favre and company could still head home unless the Patriots or Ravens lose one of their games.

Jets count on Brett Favre's right wing and a prayer,

Jaws dropped. Jet fans dreamed. Pennington's lack of arm strength would no longer limit the offense. Everyone wondered how many more of these throws would follow.

Well ... none.

That completion, which opened the gates for a 20-14 victory, is still the longest of the season for Favre and friends. And while Pennington has dinked and dunked the Dolphins within one satisfying win of clinching the AFC EAST  Favre's arm has just about fallen off.

Somewhere along the line, the gunslinger turned into a game manager. Now he seems just to be hanging on. In the last four games since he sliced and diced the TITIANS Favre has thrown one touchdown pass and six interceptions. His completion rate, while at a robust 67% for the season, is at 57.8% the last four weeks.  Favre even suggested this week there might be something wrong with his shoulder, and that tests would be conducted after the season. But in the Jets' see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil world, he was the only one suggesting that he's not what he once was.

It could be Favre's last, no matter what he does Sunday. All the shoulder talk sounds as though he might be prepping for his exit. In any case, the Jets wouldn't mind seeing what they saw back in September.Still The fins have so many wepons -  Bess, Martin ,Fasano, Cobbs, Ronnie , Ricky watch Ricky he showes why we keep him, were stacked belive that Polite not............coming to get u Jets.... fins win like always close and scarey  fins 28- 17YEA FISH DROP A BONG ON THAY ASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Phinsider everyone contributing

We’ve got everybody contributing on the pass rush.  We’ve got a bunch of good guys who are working very, very hard at it.  Joey obviously has got the highest number of sacks.  There are things that you try to do.  I’m not going to get into the strategy of how we try to get him one-on-one, but we’re constantly trying across the front there with everybody. At times you see two guys on Vonnie Holliday. That’s going on across the board, not only to Joey.  We just have to do a good job of what we do on third down and what we do in the pass rush.”

“I think that when it comes to interceptions for the secondary, Will and the rest of the guys back there, sometimes it’s a little bit streaky.  Sometimes you get your hands on the ball, but you’re not catching them.  Then you run into a period of time where you are doing it.  I think it gets hot and cold, but he’s certainly capable of picking the ball off.  He’s certainly capable of catching the ball.  At one point, I thought he was capable of being a wide receiver.  I think that he certainly can catch the ball.   you keep working on being in good position, you keep working on your vision on the ball.  I think eventually that will happen.”

Yeremiah Bell is not blitzing as much as he has in the past

When I talk about his burst and his quickness, and YB (Yeremiah Bell) has got that burst and that toughness about him, too.

Tony Sparano pointed the finger squarely on the defenses inability to tackle.

My rewind of Sunday’s game was accurate. The Dolphins missed tackles , and a lot of those whiffs occurred late in the third and fourth quarter when the Dolphins needed the defense to hold.

"I'm worried about number 11,'' coach Tony Sparano said. "That's the biggest fish that's sitting out there right now.''

Sparano was asked when he started thinking about the Jets.

"After I shook [coach Herm Edwards'] hands.''

Pennington / Favre won't be the first time this week you see the two compared -- also has completed 67 percent of his passes, but he is rated 18th in the NFL. Favre has thrown for more TDs (21), but far more INTs (19) and fewer yards (3,239). Favre was brought in ostensibly to stretch the field in ways Pennington couldn't, but Pennington has the lead in yards per attempt, 7.7 to 6.7.   "Honestly, without taking anything away from the Jets, we felt like we lost that game," cornerback Andre Goodman said. "They did what they had to do in terms of making the plays; the fluke play that was in the end zone and then the first play was just a boneheaded play on my part. You take away a couple plays in that game and we're on top of that game."

The compelling subplot from that first meeting has only thickened.

attitude now is expecting to win instead of hoping to win."

The Phinsider PLAY OFF'S PLAY OFF'S

Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs. Are you kidding me? Playoffs? I'm just hoping we can win  another game. Jim Mora.

This isnt 2001 But each and every week it"s a cardiac finish. I layed back on the couch and expecited a good old stat padding game, see some new guys get off.

BUT NO IT'S THE SAME OLD FINS OF THE PAST TEN YR'S (yes were winning and I love it) JUST PLAYING TO WIN  FLAT NO REAL SPUNK.

Ginn caught 4/55 how many did he drop 2-3  I like him and his pretty good no/Gadston someone needs to be clutch on 3rd downs

LOOK I KNOW THAT THE FINS ARE REBUILDING..........

BUT THEY DID THIS TO US FANS  1-15 TO 7-5 IM A DEDICATED FAN AND I WANT THEM TO GO ALL THE WAY.....Were loaded with talent  and a few stars and I can admit when Im wronge and Im most likely. But the Rams sure they were at home and Jackson was back. Good job to the coaches and players, and thank GOD that the old M.Buldger didnt show up and those 3 int's were a gift if they continioued to run at us it surly could have went the other way.

Look  Im only venting the Rams could have smashed our hopes today.

NOW OUR 5 RUNNING BACKS  YES REST RONNIE/TAKE IT EASY ON RICKEY/POLITE AWSOME/COBBS A GAME CHANGER...

THEY START RUNNING AND SUCESS..........THEN THEY STOP

LOOK IM A REALIST AND LOVE THE STOREY OF CINDARELLA, AND I BELIVE,BUT THE NFL IS A HARD KNOCK WORLD ASK (Former NFL MVP Shaun Alexander)

AND I DONT SEE US GOING DEEP WE COULD EASLY WIN OUT AS WELL AS LOSE THE NEXT 4

NOW EVERYONE BOW YOUR HEADS           DEAR LORD PLEASE SPLASH WATER IN THE FACES OF THE TUNA  AND COACH TONY WAKE THEM UP GIVE THE DIRECTION AND COURAGE TO GET GOING ON WITH WHAT THEY STARTED

AMEN

Even if Jackson is able to return, it's unclear how much work he'll get. Jackson hasn't taken a hit since Nov. 2 and he says a big part of the battle is being mentally prepared.

The Phinsider ALL IN ALL GREAT GAME

                                                                             WE UNRAVELED SIMPLE..

NOW THE GAME

  1. A SHOOT OUT
  2. SACKS
  3. FUMBLES
  4. SOME BAD CALLS
  5. BIG HITS
  6. PLAYERS HELPED OFF THE FIELD
  7. LEAD CHANGES
  8. COMMINGING BACK IN THE 4TH
  9. A BIG FIGHT
  10. THEN IT HAPPENED THE WHEELS WENT FLAT / THEN FELL OFF

THESE ARE THE THINGS WE WANT IN A GAME OF GLADEATORS

THE PATS ARE STILL THE PATS.      THE PHINS ARE BACK

                                                                   THE RIVERLRY LIVES

These guys were pissed they they came for revenge..Saprano (god bless him), didn't bring anything new to the table. I guess The coaches thought the wildcat was tired (me to) should be in the 2 min drill. But no new plays (Henning / Lee) smart yes yes       still no wishbone/stronge I  We don't have two running backs we have four. when you have the lead you throtle down or kill (control) the clock. the facts are simple, Defences wins championships.    A powerful running game kills Defences.

ok I know what your about to say our O line needs help to establish the run. True and we needed this for (Marino 90's) a long time and the new coaching staff addressed this. Yesterday when Jake went down I knew that he has no back up,

Told my partner he will return and struggle and He did. What a mother he is.

Our secondary will be addressed in the off season.

ALL IN ALL GREAT GAME awsome season. So far, My worries Bills/jets,Maybe we win one of those and the other Chiefs / niners / rams  we (should) win. 10-6 DAMM GOOD. At the begining of the yr.  I counted 5 wins maybe.

Synopsis: IM A PROUD OF THEM. SO MANY POSITIVE THINGS TO SAY PORTER,CHANNING (UP TILL SUN) ,ROTH,HOLLIDAY.C P ,THE RETURN OF RICKEY,RONNIE CHAPTER 3, COBBS, BESS, GINN  STILL COMMING ON ,FASSONAO,MARTIN,CAMARILLO(THANKS SPEEDIE RECOVERY AND GOD SPEED) CARREY,CRAMMER(CONGRATS 1ST TD)FERGASON,LANGFORD,AKIN,GOODMAN,HILL,BELL, WILL/JASON ALLEN,CARPENTER,FEILDS,

CAN U SEE WHAT THE TUNA IS COOKING.....................EVEN AT 9-7 WE HAVE LEVRAGE IN THE DRAFT(TALOR/AND OTHER TRADES) WERE IN THE DRIVER SEAT ANY PLAY OFF GAME IS PURELY A GIFT EARNED BY A TEAM, THAT BELIVES IN THE STAFF. IT'S        ALL GOOD  AND THE PLAYERS PUT UP SOME SOME POINTS

The Phinsider A showdown few saw coming

A showdown few saw coming.A chance to overtake a team that has won the past five division titles

.

``Nobody picked us to win this many games, and people thought New England would be 9-1 or 10-0,'' says Miami linebacker Joey Porter, the NFL sack leader. ``So you've got two teams where you thought one would be better than they are, and you thought one would be sorrier than they are. Good for us"

todays vagas line 2 mins ago  " MIAMI -2, Total 42"  Dolphins are listed as a two-point favorite, with a posted total of 42 points. I like the under/ big d 14-10 fins

give them hell dolphins you have made us proud and u can do it

The Phinsider Anticipation

Anticipation or being enthusiastic, is an emotion involving pleasure (and sometimes anxiety) in considering some expected or longed-for good event, or irritation at having to wait. Robert Plutchik listed anticipation as one of the eight basic emotions in his psychoevolutionary theory. See also hope. A name for pleasured anticipation is excitement.

Anticipation can be shown in many ways; for example, some people seem to smile uncontrollably during this period, while others seem ill or sick. It is not uncommon for the brain to be so focused on an event, that the body is affected in such a way. Stage fright is a type of anticipation, stemming from the actor or actress hoping that they perform well. I cant wait this week has been like a month............Please  pray, dont change your rituals. this is huge / the jets should go down to Tenn the win could give the Fins the Encouragement  to win out vary possible after the Pats

The Phinsider Porter sounds off, says Patriots 'cheated'

I LOVE IT..............................

"Why, if you have nothing to hide, would you destroy [the evidence]? That's how I've looked at it from the beginning. Why destroy something that doesn't have to be destroyed? Let everyone know what was on the tapes. Why would you destroy them so fast?  Porter called Belichick's fine a "slap on the wrist didn't fit the crime."

"They went from zero to 60 overnight and [Belichick] went from a good coach to a great great coach and he got caught cheating," Porter said on "NFL Live."

"Anybody I know that lost to them in big games, they're very upset about it," Porter said.

biggest game in 5 yrs.... Heath Evans said he wasn't aware of Porter's comments, but he gave the loquacious linebacker his due.

"I don't know, but if you've got 13 1/2 sacks in 10 games, you can pretty much say whatever you want in this league and get away with it," said Evans. "Until we do something about him, he's earned the right to say what he wants to say. They're 1-0 against us this year."

four sacks of Cassel and a forced fumble, and the Dolphins, with the help of the wily "Wildcat" offense, demolished the Patriots.  Sunday's game is about much more than perceived slights. It's a chance for the Dolphins to give the balance of power in the AFC East a big shakeup. The road in our division has always gone through New England. Perhaps enough fans will join the Dolphins' growing bandwagon to fill the stadium, where thousands of empty seats have been the norm in recent seasons

The Phinsider "There's not much to say," Belichick said. "They outplayed us, they outcoached us."

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick rubs his forehead during their      38-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins

The torch was not passed, but the Pats did get burned Thursday night. They started too late on both offense and defense, falling behind, 24-6, before halftime. That’s a lot to make up and, even though they did, they were weary and worn down by the fourth

Matt Cassel threw for 400 yards and three touchdowns, was Pats’ leading rusher with 62 yards and on several occasions bought time in the pocket to make a play. His laser-beam throw to a diving Randy Moss in the only place he could catch it tied the game with 1 second to play and was as perfect a throw

"Revenge is best served cold"  but this isnt there revenge it's ours

most painful loss L 14 - 31 vs. New England Patriots 1985 AFC championship game  we beat the bears and the bears crushed the pats in the bowl. It was Dan's yr     poff   gone. Over the next 23 yrs it went back and forth but after 1999

11-7 New England  when we had more talent. We owe the Kraft family a true a__ beating at Dolphin stadium. The stands are empty, AND THE  band wagoners ARE JUMPING ON Hopefuly the stands we be better.

The Pat's are probley feeling a bit  desparite and in this league revenge is motivation.  In the words of Romeo "They are who we thought they were" we need a solid game plan. The past 2 weeks we were cardiac. Teams we should have trumped we bearly beat. I only hope that we were planing for the Pats. Because I know that they are planning for us. There going down, were comming up. Think about it what if we were playing them today??? or last wk???? we really need to bow up...................... This is why we watch, this is why we play.

Mr Kraft Thanks for the condaments, but f     your pats

The Phinsider Darren McFadden has been cleared to play

this weekend after missing the last 3 games. Ok McFadden is back and He is a game breaker.    I'm ready to go," McFadden said. "I've been feeling real nice the last two days of practice, just being able to go out there and run and not have pain. At first just walking on it was hard on me, but then as that went away it was trying to cut the burst and the cuts." Maybe hes not so ready. Lets hope.Nnamdi Asomugha he's for real stats are  not so good , but  its the little things like tight coverage in the bump and run

True the Raiders are hot mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!           They have only 2 wins one over K.C

Then they Drug the Jets into over time and won/ Trap or what.  Al Davis is agging but he still wants to win. A pionner in our league him and Joe Robbie put the together the merger.

The riverly has been great over the years. On and off the field Joe Robbie and Al fell out a few yers after the merger and argured over who had the best record. Al even tried to get Mr Robbie to move the fins to L.A. To boost the riverly.

The Fins are are fit and ready no injuries to report. This should be a blow out.

Im sure thats what the Jets thought but were not the jets.

The Phinsider WHEN THE SEAHAWKS HAVE THE BALL

Saying the Seahawks have struggled this year on offense is a nice way of putting it. A more blunt way would be saying that the Seattle O has been downright awful. Injuries have a lot to do with that, as wideouts Nate Burleson (knee), Ben Obomanu (clavicle) and Deion Branch (knee, heel) have all missed at least seven games this year, while quarterback Matt Hasselbeck (656 passing yards, 2 TD, 4 INT) has been sidelined for the last four games because of a back issue. Things aren't getting better soon, as Hasselbeck is again doubtful for this weekend and Branch is questionable. Seattle ranks dead last in the NFL at 141.3 passing yards per game, and has averaged just 126.5 yards through the air in its last four. Wallace (484 passing yards, 4 TD, 1 INT), who has started the last three games, threw for 169 yards against Philadelphia. Robinson's (12 receptions, 1 TD) 90-yard TD grab helped him lead all Seahawks receivers with 105 yards on four catches, while tight end John Carlson (22 receptions, 2 TD) added two for 30 yards. Carlson is Seattle's leading receiver this year and leads all rookie tight ends in catches and receiving yards (244). After back-to-back 100-yard rushing games in mid- September, Julius Jones (509 rushing yards, 2 TD) is averaging just 39.4 yards per game over his last four outings, while Maurice Morris has just 131 rushing yards over his four most recent games. We should have a field day. I personaly belive the run game will get a workout, this could be a good time to work Ricky, rest Ronnie. Teams with nothing to lose can be dangerous  Go Fins

THIS WEEK  Will Allen’s INT                                                                                                                       I lived in Philly for 8 yrs win I was There I was Forced to be an eagle fan not so hard   Buddy ball  encouraged each player on the team to step up.  Each and every wk a new person became a star. The team played like nothing to lose.  We have the same kind of team, Roth/André (Dirty Waters) Chad Pennington not exactly (Rambling Randal) but close AND proficient.    Ronnie Brown better than (Sherman Williams) his career was short lived he was awesome. Holiday is aging but needs to give us something. Our secondary is not the best but it’s time for Goodman to stand up.                                                                                                                                    Get it on  we can do it  WHOS NEXT

K - 5 Matt Prater P - 1 Brett Kern

PR - 19 Eddie Royal KR - 23 Andre Hall

NOTES: There are a lot of questionable players on the Broncos' roster and the depth charts on NFL.com and the Broncos' official website don't even come close to agreeing, but this is my best guess. Based on news reports, it looks like Michael Pittman will start at running back and WR Brandon Stokley might come back, but probably won't start. The defense comes from the official website.

KEY MATCHUPS:

  1. Andre Goodman and Will Allen vs Brandon Marshall: Brandon Marshall is the kind of receiver that has given the Dolphins' CBs fits this season. But both Goodman and Allen have improved over the course of the season and Goodman, especially, had several important plays last week against the Bills.
  2. Joey Porter vs Broncos' Pass Protection: Joey leads the league in sacks, while the Broncos have only given up 5 sacks all year and 3 of those were in one game.
  3. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams vs Broncos Defense: The Broncos have a bad run defense and have lost one of their starting linebackers. Sammy Morris rushed for 138 yards against the Broncos.
  4. Ted Ginn,Jr vs Dre Bly: Bly has been one of the better cornerbacks in the league in the past, while Ted Ginn finally showed what he can do.

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Last week, the Dolphins' Ted Ginn,Jr finally looked like the player the Dolphins wanted when they drafted him. It will be interesting to see if he can keep up the production this week against a poor defense. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams will get the opportunity to show what they can do against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL, while Chad Pennington has quietly lead the Dolphins to the 6th best passing offense in the NFL.

On defense, Joey Porter leads the league in sacks, but needs to have a good game this week against one of the league's best offensive lines. Andre Goodman and Will Allen have their work cut out for them, but Channing Crowder and Akin Ayodele will also need to be stout against the run.

The Broncos' young quarterback, Jay Cutler, is having an excellent year throwing to Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal and Brandon Stokley, while all of the Broncos' running backs are playing well, even though they are very banged up. This week, we might see rookie RB Ryan Torain, whom the Broncos are said to be very impressed with.

The defense, on the other hand, has not played well. Their best player right now is LB D.J. Williams, who leads the team in tackles and has 2 sacks. Linebacker Nate Webster is second on the team in tackles, while safety Marquand Manuel is third.

The Dolphins have not really shown anything outstanding on special teams. The Broncos' Eddie Royal is averaging 13.6 yards per punt return and their kicker Matt Prater hasn't missed from outside the 30.

MY ANALYSIS:

The biggest surprise of the 2008 season for the Miami Dolphins may be the fact that Miami's passing game - without a dominating receiver - is ranked 6th in the NFL in total yards per game and 2nd in the league in yards per pass attempt at 8.4. That makes them easily one of the most efficient passing teams in football this season.

One of the reasons the Dolphins are doing so well passing the ball is that opposing teams are expecting the Dolphins to run the ball and are stacking the line of scrimmage with their defense. Miami has taken advantage of that tendency by doing the unexpected.

The other reason is the stunning play of Chad Pennington. His performance this year has exceed expectations in almost every way possible. Who would have thought that an ex-Jet could mean so much to the Dolphins this year?

Note to Brett Favre: Thank you so much for un-retiring!

This weekend, they are a facing a Denver defense that is ranked 30th overall and 28th against the pass. And if that wasn't enough, the Broncos have lost their best cornerback in Champ Bailey and an excellent linebacker in Boss Bailey, leaving them in even worse shape than they have been.

Denver is also an excellent passing team, ranking 2nd in the league in yards and 6th in passing touchdowns. To complement that, they have a running game that is averaging 4.6 yards per carry. And they have one of Miami's worst nightmares this year - a big, fast, physical wide receiver.

What this all means is that this game has the potential to be a 80+ point shootout on the level of the Dolphins-Jets games of the 1980s. But potential does not always equal reality and if Tony Sparano has his way, this will not be a record setting game.

The Dolphins, of course, will do their best to see that the shootout is one-sided. To do that, I believe you will see a return to a more run-oriented offense this week. Against the Broncos' 30th ranked run defense - which gave up 138 yards to Sammy Morris two weeks ago - this only makes sense.

Miami's best offensive weapons are still Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams, despite the recent success of the passing game. Add in the pass catching of Patrick Cobbs and Miami's running backs could be poised for a dominating performance.

Which is not to say that the Dolphins won't take their shots downfield to Ted Ginn,Jr. After his performance against the Bills, the Dolphins would be fools not to try to attack the Champ Bailey-less Broncos' secondary and the Dolphins coaches are no fools. Not this year, at least.

However, favoring the running game not only attacks Denver's biggest defensive weakness, but it also runs the clock and keeps the ball out of the hands of their high-powered offense.

When Denver has the ball, they favor the pass and will undoubtedly attack Miami's cornerbacks with plenty of passes to Brandon Marshall, their leading receiver. To counter this, the Dolphins will do their best to put pressure on Jay Cutler, who has a big arm, but is relatively inexperienced and can be forced into mistakes.

This is easier said than done, because the Broncos' offensive line has only surrendered 5 sacks in 7 games this season and Miami's pass rush is not the most dominating. However, the Broncos do have some weaknesses in pass protection and the Patriots put on a clinic in how to exploit those two weeks ago. Hopefully, Miami's coaching staff can put those lessons to good use this week. It will only take a couple of big plays on defense to disrupt Denver's passing game.

In most categories, the matchup between Miami and Denver is fairly even. However, there is one area where the Dolphins are decidedly superior and that is in the turnover department. Miami's turnover differential is at +7 for the season, while Denver is at a dismal -9. That's a net turnover differential of +16 for the Dolphins coming into this game.

The Broncos will probably be able to gain a lot of yards against Miami and put some points on the board, but if the Dolphins can control the ball on offense with their running game and get some pressure on Jay Cutler from their defense, they should be able to beat the Broncos this weekend.

The Phinsider WHAT THEY ARE TALKING BOUT IN DENVER

Heres a link to The Denver post  http://www.denverpost.com/broncos

Way back in the last row of defense, the Broncos can't keep still.

Age booted John Lynch and Nick Ferguson. Injury felled Hamza Abdullah.

Adjustment to a new team for the current crop of first-year Bronco safeties — and every one has been here less than a year — is partially to blame for the position's inconsistent performance and subsequent lineup shuffles. There might even be a new set of safeties starting Sunday against the Miami Dolphins at Invesco Field as the Broncos scramble to tighten the pass-coverage hole created by the injury to cornerback Champ Bailey.

If only the transitional state of the Broncos' safety position were confused with turnover.

this is what scares most of us on Halloween  this is what scares denver fans    thats all there news in Denver we need this win more than any to date there d is a mess as of last wk. the wild cat rus again supper Squirrel says get somenuts  go finsssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DOLPHINS vs. BRONCOS INVESCO Field at Mile High 11/2/2008 Chad Pennington continues to provide a steadying influence at the quarterback position, as he accounted for his fourth 100.0-plus passer rating performance in his last five outings. He tallied the sixth 300-yard passing game of his career, as he compiled 314 yards en route to a rating of 117.       Brandon Marshall looks LIKE A PROBLEM           WE HAVE TO PRESURE CULTER HE WILL SCRAMBLE AND   WE HAVE TO ACOUNT FOR THAT HE THROWS PRETTY GOOD ON THE RUN AND MARSHALL IS A GOOD ROUTE RUNNER WHO WILL STEP UP BIG TO STOP THIS TANDAM??? A MIX OF RUN AND PASS WILL BE CRITACAL I LIKEED WHAT I SAW FROM RICKEY AND GINN HOPEFULLY WE CAN PUT IT ALL TOGETHER THIS WK GO FINNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
