According too a lot of football analyst Brandon Weeden is a top 10 QB talent but might fall too the 2nd round because of his age.

Jeff Ireland has traded down from his pick too collect more draft picks all most every year, thats been his bread and butter move as a GM and that strategy has cost us a lot of Talented player over the year.

You know the saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks"
So based on his history I see him trading down too get more picks and since he knows the fan base whats a QB he will draft Brandon Weeden since most people have him going in the 2nd round.....

I don’t know a thing about Carl Peterson so I decided to do some research on him when I heard that he would be taking over Jeff Ireland’s duties as General Manager.

From 1989-2008 Carl Peterson served as the Head Man in charge who pulled the strings personnel wise for the Kansas City Chiefs. During his 20 year tenure with the Chiefs Carl Peterson hired 4 coaches: Marty Schottenheimer, Gunther Cunningham, Dick Vermeil, and Herman Edwards.

For the 20 years Carl Peterson was running their franchise the team went to the playoffs 9 times. The Chiefs went to the playoffs in the 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 2003, and 2006.

7 of the 9 times they went to the playoffs were between 1990 and 1997.

The Chiefs finished 1st in their division 4 times out of 20 years, finished 2nd in the division 9 times, finished 3rd in their division 3 times, and finished 4th in the division 4 times.

A Letter To Tony Sparano

Dear,

Tony Sparano, before I go into detail I just want to say that I am a long time supporter of you and this hurts me more than it will hurt you.

There is no doubt in my mind that you are a good guy, good motivator, and a heavily respected man. I am the type of guy that never wants to see a good guy like you finish last, but as a Dolphin fan I’m speaking for the fan base when I say we are tried of this emotional roller coaster and we are tried of finishing last in the division every year.

Please don’t cry, this needs to be said.

Tony you are suppose to be an offensive line guru, but by far our o-line has been our team’s biggest weakness this year. Our Defense is getting better week to week, Special Teams has been great all year, and our Offense (not including the o-line) has been getting better week to week. The one thing you WERE supposed to be the genius at was the o-line.

Stop crying Tony because I’m not done.

Tony, your game management has been absolutely ATRACIOUS. For a man who has the reputation of being a person who is meticulous you show poor judgment (to put it nicely).

Tony you are so PREDICTABLE, yes Lex Hilliard was 7 for 7 on third and short but you don’t go with him every time, c’mon man….

I don’t want to beat up on you, but you need to let go of your pride at times, Vernon Carey was a good Right Tackle but you threw him aside to find a place for Marc Colombo who could not block a snail’s speed rush.

Do you see where I’m going with this????????????

I could go into great detail but I see that I hurt you enough…

Look Tony, Bill Belichick was a terrible coach in Cleveland and look at him now.

The season for the Phins is now officially over, no more running the table talk and going into the playoffs. I was honestly one of the few members on here that honestly thought we can still have made the playoffs; I now realize I was thinking with my heart and not with my head. I guess that comes with age, fans start thinking with their heads. Oh well, now I can start focusing on our needs as a team without being blinded by false hope.

I really want to make this about our most pressing needs and issues as a team.

Without question we need a quarterback and the good news is Matt Moore is a perfect bridge to a new young quarterback, unless we sign Matt Flynn or somebody like that.

So we got the first and most important issue out of the way.

I know a lot of Dolphins fans what a new wide receiver or a better pass-catching Tight-end. I’m not being prisoner of the moment when I say that we are okay at those positions. I always liked Anthony Fasano and now we have Charles Clay who is a rookie but emerging. I also realize that Brandon Marshall dropped some several Touchdowns this season, especially early on which cost us a few games. At the same time he is not a pressing issue with me or any other receivers we have. I always like Brian Hartline and Davone Bess, I honestly believe that Clyde Gates can be a deep threat and he has gotten A LOT BETTER ON KICKOFF RETURNERS. Gates can be good. Remember not everybody can have a receiving core like Green Bay.

I’m satisfied with our running-backs; Reggie is showing heart and not going down after first contact. Daniel Thomas can be really good for us, especially since he is getting better at blitz pick-up. Our Special-Teams has impressed me this year; I thought in my heart of hearts they would cost us some games like last year.

If there is one major problem I have with our Defense is the Pass-rush, plain and simple. Our secondary has gotten better, run stopping is better, and line-backing core got better. I know people was talking about why Mike Nolan been playing a lot of zone this year or zone blitz, simple we have no Pass-rush. In my opinion our corners are not that bad, especially since Sean Smith has gotten worked this year and is still getting absolutely abused week in and week out. I have been a big supporter of Will Allen but it can be argued that he cost us at least 2 or 3games this year; Cleveland, Denver, Giants, and Dallas; in all of those games he was either sent on a blitz the last drive of the game to win or stop the moment and the Quarterbacks faked him out OR he was picked apart in the last drive of the game.

I believe Pass-rush is our second biggest problem behind the QB issue. Last year Cameron Wake teased us, he made us believe he can be a dominant pass rusher year in and year out. I honestly don’t know if Wake regressed or if nobody else is stepping up to help him out, but me I put the biggest weight on him because when I look at teams like Green Bay or Dallas that has only one legitimate Pass-rusher, the dominate Pass-rusher is effective on either side. Cameron Wake is always on the right of the Offensive formation and he is never effective on the left or when he’s doing twists and stunts on the Line like Clay Matthews or DeMarcus Ware. I’m a huge fan of Wake but I put a lot of the credit of the lack of pass rush on him and I don’t want too because I am a fan, so if anybody can give me a legit reason not too, I’m all ears.

Finally our O-Line is at least tied with the second problem behind our QB situation or is undoubtedly third behind the pass rush issue. I honestly think our Line could be easier to fix when compared to the other issues on the team. We have a good Left-Tackle and Center. We will need to address the Right-Tackle, Left and Right Guards. There will be some good Guards on the start of Free agency or Nate Garner and the rest of the Guards on our roster will have to step up. As far as Right-Tackle goes I believe Lydon Murtha can be pretty good RT.

I hope the Dolphins start to become a more Zone Blocking scheme when they run the ball next year, for no other reason than I believe that the Zone run blocking scheme is more effective than the Man to Man run blocking scheme Tony Sparano goes with.

I’m highly disappointed with our beloved Dolphins but it is what it is, I believe in letting the season take it natural course. If we win games I’ll be happy, if we lose games I’m okay with it because it helps with the draft position.

It sucks when you have no hope for the rest of the season…

What can I say ignorance was bliss at the time but when you gain some competence about the season, your world comes tumbling down…

Hello to the phinsider community. I just want to say I’m a huge fan of the community and Dolphins talk (feels like a therapy session every time I come here). I respect everyone’s opinion on here.

Compared to most fans on here, I’m a baby Dolphin fan. I was born on ’93 and started following the team when I was 7 years old (after the Dan Marino era). I watched a lot of losing seasons of my beloved Dolphins and I will never-ever lose faith in them. Nor will I root against them.

The reason for this post is the fact of this entire Suck for Luck campaigning going on. I would love to get Luck and watch him play like Dan Marino or Peyton Manning for us. I understand the take 1 step backwards and 2 steps forward mentality. It makes a whole lot of sense.

Honestly, I can never root against this team. Watching every single game and rooting for them to have a bad play or game (come on). On twitter there are some Dolphins fans that are taking the Suck for Luck thing way to far. After Chad Henne went down, this person on twitter actually was cheering and tweeting about other starters he/she wanted to get seriously hurt to insure we get Andrew Luck. I know I maybe young but people like that are not true Dolphins Fans.

I’m not attacking in body on here, or people on the Suck for Luck bandwagon, just don’t take it to far…..

Honestly, I acknowledge that we are a bad team; we can actually try our best and still be bad enough to get Luck (Depressing statement). I suggest we root hard for this team and when we get Luck and YES I SAID WHEN WE GET LUCK, we cheer that we have a franchise QB.
