The schedule for next year is not out yet, but the league has announced who each team will play at home and on the road. Here is a schedule that I came up with. I think it allows for a better start than the Dolphins have had the last couple of years. It features a Monday Night game with the Jets and 2 holiday games. What would you do with the schedule for next season based on what we know so far?
What do you think this means?
It is hard to see Ricky getting many endorsements after his playing days are over. Maybe Tommy Chongs Bongs need a spokesman.
that would suck
Chad says he would be open to returning to the Jets. Do you think he means it? Could this just be a ploy to shake down the Trifecta for more $ ?
"I'd be crazy not to be interested" in returning to the Jets, Pennington told New York Daily News reporter Rich Cimini."
How much would it suck to see CP10 back in Jersey?
Some Dolphin things I am thankful for.
The trifecta. A front office that is building a consistent winner through the draft and not spending big money on over priced big name free agents past their prime. There seems to be a plan.
A Quarterback for the future. Henne makes good decisions, and does the most with what he has. I would like to see him win some games, but it looks like that will come with time and some more talent around him.
A young talented secondary. With time this could be a very good defensive back field that will make big plays.
A competitive team. You can watch this team every week, and not feel like they are over matched no matter the competition.
And last, the Dolphins no longer make Darius Rucker cry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbJU61C5VkQ&feature=PlayList&p=8B2F26C18AE338AB&index=0&playnext=1 What are you thankful for?

The tag line at the top of this blog reads:
Should I buy Mark Sanchez's jersey?
I think my son's closet may be cursed. It started years ago when I purchased a J.T. Snow jersey for him. You see...that year the Giants were in the playoffs vs. the Marlins. Snow was on base and had a chance to tie the score and send the Series back to San Francisco. Instead, he was thrown out at the plate. Due to this unfortunate play, the Giants went home and Marlins played on. Incidentally, this led to the Dolphins missing an important field goal from a dirt infield. But that's another story.
It doesn't stop there. His next jersey, one that he bought himself, was Antawn Jamison (he's a big Warriors fan). Jameson was promptly traded away. There are other examples I could list, but suffice to say, jerseys that go into that closet never turn out well for the player.
Last year's jersey purchase was for the Dolphins game we attended in Denver. The mojo took a little longer but still found Matt Roth on the "physically unable to perform" list.
This year I bought my son a jersey for our trip to San Diego, mind you, this was not a cheap replica but the real thing. You can probably guess by now whose jersey he wore yesterday afternoon at Qualcomm Stadium. Yes, that's right. He proudly wore #10.
Ernest goes back to Jax
Good luck and good riddance.
Are you Sirius?
Sirius radio will visit Dolphings training camp tomorrow (Friday). They should have many interviews and focus on some posistion battles.
Who Sits?
I read an intresting delima for the Phins on ESPN that Pat White creates. If they start Pennington and use White in the Wildpat, then Henne must be the 3rd string emergency QB. This would mean White mops up against the Pats and Jets when we are up by 30 in the fourth quarter . This gives White a big advantage as the Quarterback of the future. He will be the one getting the seond string snaps each week, not Henne

Chad Pennington | Dolphins
Indicating within his bio as that he is "a leader, not a follower" , the Twitter version of Chad Pennington has had some choice quotes over the past few months. "Cooking dinner, 40 oz. porterhouse, 2 baked potatoes, zuccini, and a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon... Chad has a big appetite." " There was a meeting of billionaire philanthropists, I had to send in a rain check...I'm that good at the stock market..." "Got my playbook in the ice bath with me, gotta study in game conditions, cold, with every muscle aching...that's how you win in December..."
As you can guess from the headline, it's not actually Chad, as the Miami Herald reports. "I need to send out a press release or something!" the Miami Dolphins gunslinger told the Herald's Jeff Darlington. "Can somebody please let the world know I don't have Twitter or Facebook or any of those things?"
Although Chad took the ruse in stride, his Twitterpostor was much more innocuous than those impersonating Ben Roethlisberger and DeMarcus Ware. Big Ben's online copycat posted a false message indicating that he had contracted skin cancer, while Ware's sent the rumor websites spinning with news that a long-term contract was close at hand; of course, both statements proved to be false.
There really isn't much stopping these false accounts from continuing to pop up, so take anything you read there with a grain of salt... and a 40 oz. porterhouse.
Does a receiver slide?
Former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Torry Holt agreed to a three-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday . The Jags have the 8th pick, does this mean they address a different posistion early in the draft? They have Dennis Northcut and Troy Williamson. They could still use some help but maybe this signing means they go in a different direction, Maybe some of the top recievers slide a little bit farther down the board. Probably not, but food for thought...
60 minutes singles out the Dolphins web site.
The story is about viruses and worms infecting the internet, The Dolphins official site was listed as being infected.
Boy's release "The Player"
The Dallas Cowboys have released controversial wide receiver Terrell Owens, sources told ESPN's Michael Smith late Wednesday.
I don't think there is any way our front office is intrested in this player. Where do you think he will land? Giants? Who has cap room and needs a big mouth reciever? This should be fun to watch play out...Especially now that teams have spent their free agent money. Could'nt have happened to a nicer guy.
CP10 is human
Chad Pennington never gave the New York media any more fodder to play up the revenge angle when the Dolphins met the Jets. Pennington, who the Jets got rid of to make room for Brett Favre
, didn’t even acknowledge that there was an extra ounce of satisfaction when the Dolphins clinched a playoff spot by winning in New York.

record crowd expected
Six years after the Dolphins failed to sell out their home venue in time for a postseason game against the Ravens to be televised locally (the game eventually sold out once it was blacked out), the Fins are expecting a stadium-record crowd for Sunday’s return visit from the Ravens.
The previous high-water mark of 73,762 was set after the 1994 season, when the Dolphins hosted the Chiefs in a wild-card game.
And, actually, some club seats remain for Sunday’s game.
Living in Ca, going is not an option, but I wish those of you going well.
Hagan a Giant
Derek Hagan signed with the Giants yesterday. I know he never lived up to potential in Miami. How do you think he will do as a Giant? How will his career match up to Brandon London's, who was signed from the Giant's practice squad?

Are the Dolphins that much better?
Let me start by saying that I am not trying to throw a wet blanket on this year's success, just wondering. Are the Dolphins really that much better than last year? The NFL seems to have no great teams this year. The teams that were suppose to be great have flaws. The Patriots numerious injuries, Peyton Manning's knee, Chargers Shawn Merriman, Rothlesberger etc.
The Dolphins lost several close games last year with many key injuries and the Chambers trade. Just wondering how much better is this years team?
update from Denver
My son and I arrived in Denver last night. I have run into many Dolfans in the hotel and around the downtown area. The weather here is perfect. They had their first above freezing Halloween in 12 years. It is suppose to be 75 degrees today. Looking forward to a great game today. I hope I can bring home a W.

UNCONFIRMED RUMOR: Ferguson tests positive?
This is the rumored list floating around.
RB Deuce McAllister (NO
DE Will Smith (NO)
RB Leon Washington (NYJ)
RB Warrick Dunn (TB
S Donte Whitner (BUF)
NT Jason Ferguson (MIA)
WR Eddie Royal (DEN)
TE Ben Utecht (CIN)
WR Malcolm Floyd (SD)
S Dawan Landry (BAL)
DT Cornelius Griffin (WAS)
Just rumors at this point, but we saw how well they stopped the run without him last week.
Has anyone else heard his name in this mess?
Let's give credit where credit is due
Many people on this site were advocating for the signing of Browns QB Derek Anderson after an impressive 2007. However Matty, the calm voice of reason detailed the drop off in the second half of last season I understand that he suffered a concussion but I think we could all agree he has better targets in Cleveland yet has posted these #s so far.

Hard Knock
Did anyone happen to catch the last episode of HBO's "Hard Knocks" and the huge hit that Zach put on Ray Lewis's little brother? I understand why he is gone but I will sure miss him...I hope there is some veteran leadership on this D.

Vincent Jackson a Dolphin?
Michael Lombardo of SDBoltReport.com reports Chargers GM A.J. Smith might be shopping WR Vincent Jackson around. Lombardo speculates that Jackson could fetch a 2nd-round pick in the 2009 draft. "Teams such as the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings would all be expected entrants in the bidding for the 6-foot-5, 241-pound receiver."
This would be like trading Chambers for Jackson. Doubt if management would give up a second round pick. What do you think?
does this concern you?
Dolphins QB Chad Henne, the 57th overall pick, admitted yesterday that he took pain-killing injections last season for a separated right shoulder. Probably no big deal, but it's funny how extra details about college injuries come out *after* the draft. Henne's completion % dropped from 61.8% in 2006 to 58.2% in 2007. His yards-per-attempt also dropped from 7.6 to 7.0.
How long do these things take to heal?
not exactly a ringing endorsement
"Look, I'm under contract with the Dolphins," Taylor told Sirius Satellite Radio. "That's where I want to be. It's where I am, and I'm not retiring. ... There's been no agreement. Is it possible that something happens in the future? They can decide to do whatever they want. They're in charge."
