I was a huge bulls fan, but stopped watching after jordan left and the dynasty went kaput. Two years ago when the bulls were heading to the playoffs i began watching again, and thats where i fell in love with basketball and the bulls once again.

We Can Rebuild Them-Primer
This was at first just going to be a fanshot, but i figured id get hammered with yfbb's catch phrase, so i decided to just make it a fanpost. I could think of an idea of how to rebuild this bulls teams, but honestly I'm not smart enough. I think finding trades with teams that make sense is a lot easier as fans, but rebuilding teams is extremely tough. Most fans would suggest gut the roster keeping only key guys and start from scratch, but we all know these things are always far more complex than that (humans have feelings and things) and things dont always play out like in 2k games.
That said, for all those who are smarter than me (and what i like about this blog is that there are so many who are so much smarter than me ) who are likely going to want to hypothetically tackle this issue, here are a few great pieces of information (links), and some very important questions to tackle (my own)
Anatomy of an ACL Injury
An sbn post by dan grunfield, in which he talks about his acl injury experience, and the rehab, and getting back on track. Its a great perspective, a very good read...

how did any of us miss this gem...
Was this ever posted here and i just missed it, it may be one of the best rose interviews ever. Hes a lot more natural, a lot more relaxed, and a lot funnier than he usually is in interviews. One of the best lines

Can you guys provide a quick scouting report on Turiaf
Hi guys,
Im a bulls fan, and as many of you have probably found out, Ronnie Turiaf is signing with the heat. As a bulls fan, i'm constantly concerned (uneccessarily i might add, since im not at all connected with the bulls organization) with moves Miami makes. Miami really was lacking a big man, and now they have aquired Turiaf. My question is, exactly what is Turiaf, what will he provide to the heat, and how concerned as a bulls fan should i be?
Since you guys would know most of the answers, I thought i would come straight to the hotbed of knowledge on the subject and ask nugget fans for their take on Turiaf.
If possible please try to explain:
-His Strengths
-His Weaknesses
-His style of game
-How he might possibly fit in with the heat
-The level of impact he has on games
-A guesstimate of the level of impact he will have on the heat
I thank you all in advance for your help on the subject.
Playing around with some trade thoughts, wanted an Orlando Opinion
Hi Guys,
I know you guys probably hate any discussion involving a dwight howard trade, so i apologize in advance.
I was considering some trade thoughts off a current rumor (btw im a bulls fan) where supposedly rose asked the bulls organization to try to trade for pau gasol. Whether or not there is truth to this rumor is untrue, it was just something that got me thinking of possible scenerios of trades. I try to be an objective trade creator, which is hard to do mainly because i am a bulls fan first. At any rate i came up with a trade to which a Laker fan responded that he liked. I'm fairly certain the magic fanbase itself will not like this trade idea for obvious reasons, however i was wondering if regardless you think there was a chance the Magic organization would go ahead with this trade or if it was within the realm of possibiliity of happening or even eventually becoming fair. I ask you to be as objective in your reasonings as possible, and to go ahead and list and faults or possible corrections. I thank you in advance, the idea comes after the jump with a link to the blogabull page where i first posted the trade so you can read some of the comments regarding the entire subject.
Again thanks for your time (and a side thanks to mike from illinois who sometimes provides awesome statistical facts to blogabull, its pretty awesome and im glad he gets a ton of recognition on this blog)
Throwing Shit At the Wall or Its Trade Machine Season
First, I have been wanting to post this since last night, but sbn was acting up for me so i was unable to. Then i finally sign on and find out From the window to luol posted a kick ass trade that beats the crap out of mine...I then decided to just post my trade in his post as to not create multiple trade scenerios, but after i was done writing and i hit preview, well....it was pretty long. So i didnt want to disrespect that awesome trade thread with my own crappy trade that takes up an entire window, so i ended up making this fanpost anyway...
so without further ado, here it is
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=839bf6o
Its Oj Mayo and Sam Young for Cj Watson and Brewer.
How Blogabull Game Previews are supposed to be
hey guys, remember that one fanpost that was the bulls gamepreview for the wizards that y'all disliked. I kinda tried to explain how our game previews work, and of course how most of them were better, and often there were great attempts at humor. Well, just a game later, here is another game preview, and hopefully you guys can see a little of what i like about blogabull. Hope you guys get a chuckle out of it.

J.R? Is that you??
i couldnt emb it, so i had to link it instead, but...stephen a. smith was talking about the chris paul trade. The main gist of his argument comes down to business basketball vs the game basketball...anyway while listening to the rant, this nifty nugget came up. And...a sudden sadness. If i did this right, the link should take you right to the line. If not, fast forward to the 9:56 mark
Bulls Fan Here With a Potential Trade and Wondering Your Thoughts
Hi All,
You probably have read a few of my posts here, i visit this site every now and then to see whats up. I had a trade that i came up with, and I wanted to gauge your reaction on what you would think of the trade. I'm one of those fans who loves churning out possible trade ideas, dont know why really...
Trade is after the jump, but let me set some presumptions. First off, the bulls have like many teams, the full MLE to use, which is a little over 5 million. The bulls have been searching for a two guard (as you may know) and one big potential player is Jamal Crawford, however since he is technically going to be a free agent, in order to trade him would involve a sign and trade.
You probably have already heard about that rumor, and how the trade is meant to be based around Crawford and the Bulls wingman Brewer. The thing that intrests me about this rumor, is the fact that no one seems to mention that if Jamal Crawford was signed and traded, it would have to be to a deal above the MLE. Brewer, makes less than 5 million so if Crawford was being signed and traded for brewer, somehow the difference would have to be made up by chicago.
Another big aspect is how much Jamal Crawford would want in order to go through with this sign and trade. So for this excersise I am going to assume that Jamal Crawford is wiling to sign and trade for the amount of 8 million, which seems to be about the market value for scoring wingmen right now...
Some numbers
Jamal Crawford-8million
Kirk Hinrich-8.1 million
Ronnie Brewer-4.7 million
Cj Watson-3.4 Million
Pargo-1.3 million
JLIII-0.9 milllion
MLE-5 million*
(*approximate)
Now the trade....
Larry Coon on new CBA vs Old CBA
The guy with a MBA in the CBA (okay....maybe not) adds his take to the new cba agreement. With more details being trickled down, Larry Coon compares the new facts of the current CBA against the past CBA. Theres a ton of good stuff here and its certainly worth the read for anyone wondering about not only what changed in the CBA but also he adds commentary on who benefits from the changes. I wish he wouldve done a similar thing with the proposed CBA agreement that was declined by the players before they dissolved. It would have been nice to show all those pro owners how one sided and biased that agreement was. At any rate this is extremely good stuff from the master of all things regarding the Collective Bargaining Agreement. As you guys can probably tell I am making this more wordy thanit should be, mainly because I feel this should be a fanpost rather than a fanshot. Okay, hit the word limit...link after the jump

Hypothetical Question from a Bulls fan: What would it take to get Afflalo?
Hi All,
As the title suggests, I am a bulls fan, but I am one who enjoyed watching your team play last year, namely Aaron Afflalo. With the nba already started, as a Bulls fan, like many fans, Ive been contimplating what my team needs to take the next step. Really the biggest need is a good wing man to pair alongside Derrick Rose. I believe Afflalo fits the description of the IDEAL wingman for rose. So I would like to ask you guys if, hypothetically, A.A. did tell Nugget Management that he would like to go to chicago through a trade if possible, what would it take for Denever Management to Accept a deal?
Henry Abbotts take on System Issues; or; The idea of Parity Revised
Hi All,
I'm not one of you, I thought i should come out and say that much. I am not a fan of the Blazers Team (though i have liked several players on your team, Rudy Fernandez and Brandon Roy being the two biggest) nor do I live in Portland. So perhaps on that merit i can never possibly understand some of your positions on this recent Lockout and the issues that reside in it.
I post on this site right now to present an argument, or rather, to seek a possible rebuttle or just simply to observe your observations. I have in the past, and will probably continue to, lurk on this site and observe this Fanbase's reaction to several league wide issues or news. It was through my lurking that i eventually found a topic, or rather a reaction to a topic that intrigued me, so i inquired. While i dislike generalizing, it seemed to me that a majority of the members here, who i find are certainly intelligent, were very much pro-owner in the current lockout debate. While i do understand that everyone deserves their own opinion, i still wondered why were Portlander's so fond of the owners stance for Parity.
No, i dont think parity is wrong, in fact i am all for it, however, i felt the owners idea of parity, or rather their changes to create parity were flawed and in fact unfair. However (if you follow the link above) it seems there was a school of thought within B.E. that did not feel the same.
I dont come here to change your minds, believe me...i tried , but now more to query the B.E. mindset. So then i found this article (hat tip to Bullets Forever, a wonderful site even if you arent a Wizards fan) Written By Henry Abbott.
And it is here where I have a request. Please, read the following, and let me know what you think. I'd like to know if I am simply mistaken with my generalization that most of B.E. is for the owners idea of Parity, and if you honestly believe a Soccer like system would somehow create Parity, or if perhaps the article changed your mind.
The article can be found here: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/33268/the-offer-that-should-have-been-accepted
I thank you for your time, and to any of those who wish to comment and explain a stance (even if you agree with me or just want to needlessly bash my attempt). I thank you all, and love the community of people on this site. Thanks for letting me post this long strange fanpost.
CSN to air 'Chicago Bulls Classics' telecasts featuring 15 of the greatest games in franchise history
This is extremely cool, mainly cuz ive been begging nba.com to release some of the older bulls games (circa 2006) for us fans to purchase. I'm not so interested in the championship games mainly cuz nbatv has been showing them, and they are easy to find due to jordans dvds. Im more interested in watching full games from the baby bull era...those were some fun games.
Anyway this is cool, and i hope this continues throughout the lockout, and not just once a week, but ever single day

Offseason Drull? How about Video Game Talk?
This offseason, sucks. Mainly cuz it hasnt even really began. However, 2k12 has already released its commercials and a release date. That got me thinking, what can 2k do to make their games better? Jordan Mode might remain in future installments of the game, but that alone wont cut it.

Free Agent Class of 2011
I posted this in that "know your fanposts/fanshots" post on the front page, but i thought it might deserve its own fanshot. Its basically a compilation of all possibly available players in 2011 free agency. I think the list might have been from april so some of the free agents might have already extended...anyway its a good page to think about when drafting. I think theres plenty of bigs that can serve as backups for cheap, and the sgs are far less...in terms of bulls needs that is (pesonality and talent wise)
I know...I know...but you realize...I had to....
A trade You'd Never Expect, Might Save Both Teams
Hi all,
Ill start off by saying im a bulls fan, but i am also a fan of the nba. I was watching the dallas okc series last night and I began to think about the state of affairs for the okc, and immediately i began to think of your current predicament. What I am going to propose will not sit well with you, I understand this, but I think you guys need to realize it really is a great if not simply THE BEST move for you. From a basketball point of view, it makes sense for both teams, but because of the culture of the two teams, I believe this will never happen, mainly because of the way the teams are viewed in the media. This isnt like many of the trades for Dwight Howard or CP3 i keep reading around here, in a sense, its more realistic, and perhaps due to culture, just as much impossible...which is a shame....
A part of me believed this was discussed in this season, when the jeff green trade took place. But due to cultural conflicts more i believe on the boston side this simply didnt go down. The trade is, rajon rondo for russel westbrook.
BLAKE IS AWESOME!!!

For those were wondering how rose was raised, this is it.
PodCast With Hollinger
Good stuff, made yesterday morning. Go about halfway in to get to the conversation with hollinger. I now believe that hollinger doesnt buy into his own bs.
My Nba 2k11 Game sliders
To be used with 12 min quarters on All-star difficulty Ill start by naming them, in order by screen (at least how it appears on the 360). The sliders are the same for both Human Cpu. After the jump ill explain some of my reasoning and what the sliders are supposed to accomplish.
First, just in case there were some who had no idea how to change sliders, this is how you access them. During a game (quick game, season, association, playoff) or through the main menu at the start-up screen, go to options, gameplay and then gamesliders. The first screen should the be the offensive slider screen which is where i will start. From there hitting the rt button (or on ps3 id imagine its the r2 button) should shift you to the next screen. Here are the sliders
Offense
inside shots-42
close shots-43
mid-range shots-45
3pt Shots-45
layup-53
dunk-48
dunk in traffic-23
pass accuracy-50
Contact Shot Success-32
Hit RT(R2 for ps3) for the next screen
Defense
Driving contact-100
Inside contact-100
help defense-46
steal success-40
RT/R2 for next screen
Abilities Sliders
Quickness-50
Vert-38
Strength-93
Stamina-45
Durability-50
Hustle-83
Ball Handling-50
Hands-50
Dunking Ability-34
On-ball Defense-76
Stealing-50
Blocking-48
Off. Awareness-50
Def. Awareness-73
Off. Rebound-34
Def. Rebound-38
The rest of them should be left at default 50 value
RT/R2
Tendency Sliders
Take Inside Shots-48
Take Close-55
Take Mid Range-50
Take 3pt-48
Attack Basket-46
Look For Post Up-50
Throw Alley Oops-48
Attempt Dunk-10
Attempt Putbacks-70
Throw Flashy Passes-86
Commit Fouls-50
Play Passing Lanes-50
On-ball steals-40
Contest Shots-76
Backdoor Cuts-50
You know the drill
Rules
Over the back-58
Charging-65
Blocking-63
Reaching-47
Shooting-55
loose ball-55
The final edit to make can only be made at a special game settings menu. To reach this menu At the controller select screen (in quick games or association games) pres the Y button (i imagine its like triangle on the ps3 controller) this should get you to the gamesettings menu where you can adjust the difficulty and and game speed, but it also lets you adjust one more option, player speed.
Gamespeed-52
Player speed-46
Rose is J.R.'s Definition of M.V.P.
The M.V.P. award is probably the most vaguest and thus most contraversial award in the N.B.A. From the people who vote on it (media members and now even some fan voting) all the way to the very definition of the word. There are some who believe Most Valuable Player means the BEST player. Another school of thought suggests it means Player who matters most to his team in the entire N.B.A. and a third school of thought that suggest that it means the best player on the best team. There is a media school of thought that suggests the definition is more Most Valuable Story (in terms of marketing and globalization of the N.B.A.) where the player that can generate the best image for the N.B.A. of that particular year should recieve the title. Yet, there is another definition for Most Valuable, that is often overlooked. Perhaps because it is the most primitive definition, perhaps because it is the definition less concerning to the concept of pure basketball (an ironic idea I'm sure). It is a definition no normal basketball fan, critic, or watcher would consider, but one a certain cheapskate owner certainly would.

Dean Oliver on what the Heat should do on offense
Today on espn 1000 (in chicago) the bobcats coach was a guest on one of the morning shows and he talked about how he was surprised that the Heat dont run Pick and Roll plays utilizing wade and james. It seemed like a real good thought.
Then I find this nice article from Dean Oliver, a fairly smart guy, and he discusses what he thinks the real problem of the heat is (over dribbling) and some suggestions. Its a good read, and i still think the idea of wade and james running a pick and roll can be a deadly weapon. If teams go under the screen then you give wade too much room to get a head of steam and with him and lebron going towards the basket the defense is going to collapse. If you go over the screen then you are putting your big man on a matchup nightmare with lebron.
Anyway good read, thought y'all would enjoy it. Discuss
