tyger1147 brings up an interesting question over at bhgp, How well does our coach follow recruiting rules? Personally I'd love to think Pinkel has never commited a violation since he's been hear, but sadly I don't. I believe that every coach in the nation violates some rules, but coaches get in trouble when they step over the "line" and step on some other coaches toes. I'd peg Pinkel in the minor violations ballpark, no one's perfect.

Yesterday was the final day of the 4-day Missouri-Kansas Hy-Vee Shootout. The final day always showcases the biggest and best matchups, and the biggest and best players. I was also in attendence last year and had the pleasure of seeing Mizzou signee Ricky Kreklow play. This season there were two big-time recruits playing. The first is Perry Ellis out of Wichita Heights. Admittedly Perry didnt look outstanding in his game, but he didnt have to against a completely outmanned Nixa team. He showed off some nice dunks and a solid mid range shot, but I was most surprised with how well he handles the ball. Overall he is a VERY large body who would definately help the tigers but I'm usure of his stamina, I don't know if he has the legs to play for CMA.

The next player I am much more interested in. Ishmail Wainwright from Raytown South. 6-6, 220, long arms, great dunker, good defender, and he's only a sophomore? holy balls. Mizzou really needs this guy, because he looks like he would be a great fit in CMAs system, and he is really athletic. He was far and away the best player at this years Shootout, and I really hope he finds his way to CoMo.

So my family finally got our season tickets yesterday (finally!) and I always like to look over the tickets pretty well, see whos on what ticket and such. One of my theories for why it took so long to get them was that DWash was on one and they had to reprint all the tickets without him on one. But it turns out Mizzou went with the whole "to hell with it" approch and he's pictured on the Miami-Ohio ticket and He has a spot on the cover of the booklet thing (which by the way I think the booklet is an awesome idea).

Its 12 days 'til Illinois and my family doesn't have our tickets. We don't have our season tickets either. I wanted to know if anyone else had theirs so I would know whether we need to call or just stick it out. Thanks.

Keep in mind everything that follows is only relevent if Andrew Jones plays a role in the offense next year. Which I really hope happens once Gabbert gets more comfortable at QB. But anyway, does anyone remember about 5 years ago the story about how Andrew Jones and some of his friends stole a saxophone out of the Smithville High band room then tried to pawn it off and got caught? Well Smithville happens to be my high schools rival, so everyone in town remembers that story quite vividly. Assuming he plays, how about we call him Sax Man, after the lonely island song with Jack Black. If anyone has any other ideas please put them in the comments and maybe later we can vote on them if there are enough.

So last Thursday I was riding with my family to Saint Louis to see other family and watch the Mizzou Game. And since it was the 31st, the end of a decade, the guys were making an all-decade team with players from Mizzou, K-State, and kU. So they get to the QB spot and of course they all have Chase Daniel in their starting spot. But when they were discussing Chase's career, one of the guys referred to Chase as Chance McDanielson. An RMN-born nickname if I'm not mistaken. So obviously we can notch up another media member who reads RockM. Weren't we pretty sure there for a while that John Anderson reads RMN? Just another example of what a fine job Beef, RPT, BillC, and ghtd36 do around here I guess.

I was at the Hy-Vee shootout in Olathe with some friends on Saturday. I had no idea who was playing but I knew it was always good basketball. Picked up a program and to my delight Mizzou recruit Ricky Kreklow was playing. As  you all know he plays for Columbia Rock Bridge and his dad ( mom also?) is the MU volleyall coach. Anyways, he is definately a shooter, took at least 10 3's, made 5 I believe. Had some nifty lay-ups and was perfect on free-throws. Honestly one of the sweetest strokes I've seen from the line, much better than Mike Dixon to say the least. The only thing I don't like is ow he fades away on all his jumpers, kinda like Leo...

I also heard today that Dexter McDonald commited to Mizzou to play CB. I thought that name was familiar so looked at the program. Turns out he also played basketball for The Rock. Of course he was the one no one could take their eyes off. Me and my friends definately noticed something new about him when he touched above the top of the square in warm-ups. Don't have much to say about him other than he's really fast, a huge play maker, and hopefully he's as fun to watch on the football field as he is on the basketball court.
