The Rangers were clear winners at last year’s deadline, already seeing a payoff from last year’s deals. They might try again, making smaller deals focused on 2009. They might again have a match with the Braves, dealing one of their extra OF bats — Frank Catalanotto, Marlon Byrd, or even Milton Bradley — for Mike Gonzalez. There hasn’t been much interest in Hank Blalock, but he’s another name that could clear waivers.

if we made a deal with the rangers getting one of those guys isnt cutting it for me..Bradleys good but a band-aid and a free agent at seasons end..but i gues that means two more draft picks..not that we could afford 5 or 6 picks (depending on Ohman's status) in the first round.. but thats a story for a diffierent day. not to mention with moylan being out till juneish next year and soriano's ghost injury who knows we mite really rely on gonzo next year

Once again, no one seems to know what the Dodgers are doing. Reports that they’re showcasing Andy LaRoche and discussing Matt Kemp in deals are balanced against discussions involving Jack Wilson on the low end and Mark Teixeira on the high end. imagine getting andruw back..even if the dodgers swallowed 12 million i wouldnt want him around for 6 million plus another 18 mil next year (give or take) unless we got loney and laroche
