At least according to some wang. Actually that Wang is a professor at Swarthmore who used manger tendencies to create charicatures of each manager. It's really quite interesting to take a boring analysis of the current mlb managers and create funny-looking faces from it.

Bud Black was really quite ordinary, almost identical to the league averages. But he is quite a contrast to Bruce Bochy (located right next to him, conveniently enough) who looks very much like a weirdo. Strangely enough, this method seems to have nailed Lou Pinella's smile just perfectly.

If you didn't follow the link above, here is the article and here is the picture.

[Note by Dex, 04/02/08 4:38 PM EDT ] This is fascinating and here's a "thumbnail" of the photo along with Bud and Bochy highlighted:

two padres on ESPN's most underrated list

here's the link:

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=2882388

not sure how underrated hoffman is, but then again, I've spent most of my life around people who have heard the bells ring in person.

And I'd also like Peavy to remain underrated until we sign him to his next extension. Having him on this list isn't going to help that.

Gonzalez's contract renewed: $500 above MLB minimum

"General Manager Kevin Towers said Wednesday the club will renew Gonzalez's contract at $380,500. The club had offered $391,500 and Gonzalez had sought $418,000."

So, we're pretty much saying "f- you" to our best offensive player over $26,500?

Makes sense to me.
