Turf Show Times AFL or CFL

Do NFL teams look at these leagues very much when looking for help in different areas. I noticed an article that talked about the dolphins signing a stud from the CFL named Cameron Wake. Had a ton of sacks. I did some exploring and found an interesting player that might could bolster the rams linebacking core, if not simply make our special teams stronger. His name is Steve Watson. He currently plays in the AFL and has had some pretty outstanding stats. Plus his home is St. Louis. He actually attended Missouri St..  Here is a link to his profile http://www.arenafootball.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=19827&SPID=1550&DB_OEM_ID=3500&ATCLID=1097030&Q_SEASON=2009

I don't know, the dolphins signing that guy got me curious. Let me know what you think.

Viva El Birdos Attn: John Mozeliak

I have recently been searching for a SS worth trading for and an impact bat to put behind Pujols.  I think I may have found both in one player.  Brandon Wood for the
L. A. Angels of Anaheim.  And I believe it just so happens that the angels are in the market for someone to replace Garret Anderson in the outfield (something that we have an abundance of) since they are not picking up his contract in the offseason.  "Brandon Wood spent most of the 2005 season with the Angels' High-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, hitting .321 with a California League record 43 home runs and 51 doubles. Combined with two doubles and a triple in four games with the Triple-A Salt Lake Stingers, Wood became the first known minor leaguer to hit more than 100 extra-base hits in one year."  Now I know that he is one of the angel's prized prospects but I think he might could be had for either Ankiel or Ludwick and maybe one other prospect.  Let me know what you think.

Viva El Birdos Go after Renteria!

For those of you that haven't heard, Pudge Rodriguez has been traded to the yankees.  That makes a vacancy at catcher on the tigers.  Also, I don't know if you have noticed but we are lacking offensively up the middle.  They have renteria: a former beloved cardinal.  Now I know renteria is NOT having a great year offensively, but I feel that if he were to come back to the Lou he would do much better.  Now let's see, do we have any catching prospects that the tigers might be interested in?  Oh, yeah, Brian Anderson.  I know that it would probably take more than just Anderson to complete the deal, but I for one would be glad to see renteria back in red.

Viva El Birdos Middle infield help.

I think that our greatest need is some pop in the middle infield.  Then maybe go out and get fuentes or another lefty reliever.  There are two people that might not be realistic but we might should think about them.  The first is Jhonny Peralta on the indians.  He's fairly young, about 26 and has some pop in his bat for a SS.  He's got 14 HR's and was on a bigtime slump, but lately he's been pretty hot.  I figure He might could be had for 2-3 pretty good prospects.  The second is a little less realistic and would take a lot more, but would be amazing is Ian Kinsler.  The 2 bagger for the Rangers.  He is batting .335 with 14 HR 53 RBI and 23 SB (STUD).  We might have to give up brian anderson, jon jay, maybe another pitching prospect or something but he is a beast.  (side note: He also attended MIZZOU so he would be a great fit.)

Viva El Birdos Why not Jaime [hi-me] Garcia?

I say we bring up this kid instead of waiting till pigs fly before mulder comes back and pitches effectively.  Just look at his minor league stats this year, they are ridiculous.

Team League W L ERA G GS CG SHO SV IP H R ER HR BB SO GO/AO AVG
SPR TEX 3 2 2.06 6 6 1 0 0 35.0 26 10 8 0 16 41 2.44 .206
MEM PCL 1 0 0.69 2 2 0 0 0 13.0 12 2 1 0 1 12 2.38 .226

One of those losses in double A he did not give up an earned run.  He has been very effective, a lot more than you can say for the "stud" we got for danny haren.

Viva El Birdos Kosuke Fukudome

Why don't we take a shot at this guy.  He has proven himself to be a very big impact at the plate in japan and it is also said that he has excellent defense and a cannon for an arm.  This would give us a big bat in our lineup for protection for pujols.  This link talks about what he might go for and I think it might be worth a shot. Tell me what you think.
