KU Women play at 6:30 (central) in the NCAA Tourney!
The women deserve our support too. Unless I've missed it, I haven't seen one mention of them finally making it back to the tourney. It's been a while for the girls.

I thought this was a really great read. I also was curious if anyone has seen our players toting around iPads or something of the sort. I have a sneaking suspicion the answer is no, which is quite disheartening. I wish we could have Joe Maddon so badly... he could GM & manage, or hell, just GM!

I've noticed a lot of pessimism about the possibility of contending in the future, and I think a lot of it comes from an unrealistic understanding of what we need. Here I'm going to take a look at what normally wins the AL Central, what we currently have to work with, and what we would need to acquire to get there.
Please note, this is NOT a projection of what WILL happen. It's an attempt to gauge what would NEED to happen for the Royals to be successful. Whether we think it can be done or not is up for debate from there.

At this point of the season there isn't much to do other than get ready for next year, right? And with that in mind, who I want to see on the roster and in the opening day lineup next year.
Via Jayson Stark: Meanwhile in KC, keep hearing #Royals have made no headway on deals for Guillen, Farnsworth, Bloomquist, Bannister, etc.

So I believe it was Denver who wanted to rename the nickelback position, for various reasons(cough, the band, cough) and it seemed that there was some support for the idea. I had an idea for the name and couldn't find the thread that had the earlier ideas in it, so I thought I would start one up here. Everyone should post their ideas and then maybe rockchalk could set up a poll of the best name. And without further ado, my idea is...
