You don't have to try very hard to realize that the Detroit Red Wings are one of the best teams in the NHL. First, you see their offense. With Pavel Datsyuk who, night after night, makes insane offensive plays. Then there is Cleary, Draper, Bertuzzi, Eaves, Filppula, Franzen, Helm, Holmstrom, Maltby, Miller, and of course, Henrik Zetterberg. That offense is insane and is quite difficult for a defense to stop. Then there is their defense. The veteran Nicklas Lidstrom, Lebda, Rafalski, and Stuart. There is the rookie goaltender, Jimmy Howard who took over for Chris Osgood who struggled at the beginning of the year. When you put them all together, you get a team that is nearly impossible to stop. There was much speculation that the Red Wings wouldn't make the playoffs this year, but since the Vancouver Olympics, they have really stepped up their game and have clinched their spot in the playoffs
