Bellotti third best Pac-10 Coach and Autzen number 9

Ted Miller went in depth about ranking the Pac-10 coaches from top to bottom.

I agree with him that Pete Carrol is the obvious choice for the number one coach in the Pac-10. I personally don't have much respect for Dennis Erickson because of how bad of job he did for the 49ers. As far as college goes he picks up a good amount of wins every year. I just don't see how he is better than Bellotti maybe that is just my bias. Bellotti is third followed by Tedford from Cal and then Riley at OSU. I also know about Rick Neuheisel's at UW, but I don't see him making a impact that quickly at UCLA. USC has all the recruiting power down in Southern California and the rest of the country.

Ted Miller wrote another article about MIke Stoops and Ty Willingham being on the hot seat in the Pac-10. I think Stoops is done after this yer unless he puts together a nice bowl run. I don't think Willingam has to make it to a bowl game this year for him to keep his job. UW starts the season with UO, BYU and Oklahoma. I believe the Huskies will start 0 and 3 but if those games are close and UW gets within a game of making a bowl game I think UW will give Willingham one more year at least. Just my opinion though.

I just came across this because I have no life other than surf the web about Oregon. Autzen is ranked #9 amonst toughest places to play. Michigan is 8. What the hell? Michigan should not even be mentioned in the top 10 after what happened last year.

Georgia is number one follwed by USC and Ohio State. I think it is interesting Florida is ranked so high despite the bad year , in Florida's standard, they had last year. Only three Pac-10 teams made the list topped with USC at 2, ASU at 16 and Oregon at 20.

We are in the process of updating to a new video screen at Autzen. Rob Mosely also has an update about the size and dimensions here. Apparently, OSU has been saying their scoreboard is the biggest in the Pac-10 and this screen is supposed to surpass theirs by a lot.

Is the new screen really necessary? I know the audio is not very clear compared to other stadiums. I personally think the new screen will look sick for the pregame video, but other than that I don't really look at the screen very often (maybe once or twice during a game) to see a replay.

Ryan Anderson pro ready?

The Sacramento Bee has a nice article about Ryan Anderson. Scott Howard-Cooper evaluates Anderson and sees if Ryan Anderson is pro ready. Cooper also goes into detail about the hard decision that goes into deciding whether or not to stay in school or go to the NBA. These articles are always interesting because it is a life decision for these players and anything can happen at anytime.

This could be a big deal in the Pac-10 next year because he is one of the best players in the Pac-10 and the country.

Let me know what you think about Ryan Anderson. Is he pro ready? Should he stay in school for another year? Let me know your thoughts.

Freshman forward Drew Viney has been granted a release from his scholarship at Oregon, the University announced Thursday.

"Drew asked for his release and we have granted his request," said head coach Ernie Kent. "It's always tough when a player departs your program, but I respect his decision and understand his desire to continue his career closer to home. Drew did a good job for us this season."

This is from goducks

http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&ATCLID=1442558&DB_OEM_ID=500

In case you have not heard, Ben Braun from Cal has been fired after 12 years of coaching Cal. The link below has the information about it. The article sites that due to the lack of ncaa tournament appearances was the reason for the firing. This should be interesting to see whether Ryan Anderson will go pro or stay for another year.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3313928

Thought it would be interesting to share with everyone.

Jerome Boyd is in a walking boot. Does anyone know what happened to him? I have seen him walking around campus with this boot on. I feel like the paparazzi following Tom Brady around New York, but I have a class with Boyd and I seem him multiple times a week. This is the same type of boot that drove the media crazy when Brady was wearing it before the Super Bowl.
