Calling all A's fans!  Do you miss the voice of Bill King coming over your streaming audio feed (or radio)?  If so, give the man some respect, and vote for him on the Baseball Hall of Fame's poll on Facebook.

We all know that we'll be teary-eyed when we hear his voice in Moneyball The Movie.  So, let's make everybody else know what we're all missing by making him a finalist in the 2012 Ford C. Frick Award which celebrates great baseball announcers.

I think Bill King was the greatest baseball announcer, and chances are, you do too.  So let's make him a finalist this year, and make sure that he gets the award he deserves.

I don't think this has been posted yet in FanPosts (I did a quick search), but it it was, my apologies.

I moved to the Charlotte, NC area early least year, and am in danger of going insane without a major league club here.  In addition, I haven't had any luck finding any A's fans.   Would love to meet up with some A's fans and take over a bar for a game.  Or if nothing else, have folks come over, have a BBQ, and watch the A's at my place, with the Direc TV Baseball package.  (Assuming my wife approves, of course.)  :)

So, are any of you out there? 

I love our A's, and over the past few years they've followed a pattern.  THey start bad, look horrible, and I lose all hope. Then, just before the break, they start winning, and continue that streak all the way until the playoffs.

I've become accustomed to that pattern.  I cherish it.  It gives me comfort.

But now, our guys are 1st.  And they're doing it with 5 (maybe 6) starters on the DL?!  Is something wrong here?  Doesn't anybody else see it?  Does this mean we're going to stay strong all season long?  Or will we start losing during the break??

AHHHH!!  I don't know what to make of all this winning early in the season!   Anybody else feel this way??  :)

I wrote the A's asking if I could get a copy of the Bill King video tribute shown at the coloseum last night, since I wasn't there. Here's what the A's responded with.

"We are not making this clip available to the public as of yet. There will be a produced CD with radio highlights coming out soon."

WOO HOO! I can't wait!

Yesterday was opening day, and there was no Bill King to tell me so. So, I've been trying to find a "Holy Toledo" MP3, or the video tribute to Bill shown last night at the Coloseum, but to no avail. Any idea where I can get one or both of these?

I knew I missed him, but it wasn't until I was watching the game on ESPN, and didn't hear his voice over my computer that it really hit me.
