JEFF ADRIEN, NBASSOCIATION STARTER

Current UConn specter of competent post play and former power forward Jeff Adrien got his first NBA start last night. He scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds. And blocked two shots. And he...

JEFF ADRIEN IS BACK IN THE L; UCONN SOUTH NOW IN CHARLOTTE

1

Jeff Adrien was signed by the Bobcats today after the manager waived his own son. This is good news, especially for the players in the D-League who probably got tired of Jeff Adrien playing actual defense--He had over 9 defensive rebounds a game for the Rio Grande Vipers. Charlotte now has three former UConn players on its roster, including Adrien, Kemba Walker, and Ben Gordon.

AJ Price mentioned in same article as Deron Williams

Because he pushed him a little bit. But hey, Anthony Jordan is in the NBA!

Was Jim Calhoun on a horse?

+

I hate linking to deadspin for some reason. It always feels over the top, given that all deadspin does is link to things. META. If anyone knows for sure who was on the horse (Allen has, in the words of Daffy Duck, pronoun trouble) I'd be much obliged. Anyway, here's a thing: "If he'd care to share a story about Jim Calhoun taking his UCONN trip on a field trip prior to the start of the 1999 NCAA Tournament: "[W]e were playing at Rupp Arena, that was my junior year. It was like ‘get ‘em out of the hotel, I don't want them sitting around.' He always did something. Now I understand it more, because now I travel and I get out and I do certain things just to enjoy certain cities. So he took us to a horse farm in Kentucky, and he was like, ‘guys, you think you guys are doing something?' And then we walked into this barn, and this big horse came out, and he was just ready. He was ready. He just saddled this thing and he just went to work. And we were like ‘wow!' Everybody was going crazy, everybody was laughing, it was so funny, and we were like ‘we really ain't doing nothing.' That was the PG version."

Four UConn Footballers Drafted

Which is more than Cal, as many as Colorado, and fewer than Clemson. (This links to the "C" page of a by-schools summary.) Anthony Sherman was our first running back taken. 5th round by the Cardinals. Wilson went in the 6th to the Panthers, Todman in the 6th to Chargers, and Greg Lloyd in the 7th to the Eagles. Also, here's a placeholder until you feel like writing more on this topic.

So, the Louisville game really bummed me out. So, I found this video of Rebecca Lobo on Sesame Street. Then I noticed that the editing suggests she did not make the reverse layup. I got bummed out again, but shortly thereafter found the humor in getting bummed out about Rebecca Lobo missing a layup after breaking big bird's ankles. So, I hope that this can cheer you up, too.

Burton Family Football complex now just the Family Football Complex

+

Seems Mr. Burton wants his name off it because he didn't have enough sway in the coach selection process. Also, he wants his three million dollars back. Anyone know how this stuff gets worked out, and if it could somehow negatively affect our much prayed for basketball practice facility budget?

I mean, we have to have a little egg on our face, no?

Remember that time BC was telling football recruits about how UConn would have new coaches in January, and it was risky to commit there? Perhaps still a disingenuous means of recruiting, but, nevertheless, www.sadtrombone.com.

Quick question of taunting ethics

Is it cool for us to taunt Bob Huggins for spending several days in the hospital after breaking his ribs, whereas Coach Calhoun got up and finished a long distance bike ride for charity? Or should...

How could you be so Harkless?

6

Maurice Harkless decommitted today. Obvious things to consider here, namely the signing of Giffey, though I don't know if that's the chicken or the egg in this instance. At any rate, this doesn't mean he's gone, just means he's not here at the moment. I'm not terrifically upset; he was not at this point a top flight recruit and is more wiry than an Alexander Calder. Nevertheless, if you read this Mo, I hope you come touch the sky at uconn, rather than go play for some gold digger. But you have to get stronger.

This exists, and that's important.

Yup. It's on the Web. And it is a beauty of a page.

UConn ranked third-best BE recruiting class says aptly named Reggie Rankin

Which is I guess, pretty good, or if nothing else is reason to feel good about things. Most important, I think, is that Shabazz! Napier is drawing favorable comparisons to Dana Barros. Dana Barros!

mmmm, so says a small post with no replies on theuconnreport.com. Really, I have no verification of this at all. This is great citizen journalism on my part. But here's a link. He's a junior...

In my newly begun campaign to redistribute students at basketball games, I present this video as argument in favor of doing so. This kind of thing doesn't work when most students are at unfavorable altitude. Props to RushTheCourt.net for the link.
