Curious as to what some D league fans think about the name for the  Maine team. I for one am not a huge fan, but the list of potential names didn't offer too much anyways. Another question, which city is a better fit for the C's now that Springfield has announced a team as well? Now that there is another team in New England, i'm sure the Celtics organization is looking into it.

Im sure most of you are aware by now that the name for the Portland D league team, that will hopefully be Celtics affiliated is the Red Claws. Is this a good name? do you support it?

Also I was made aware of a potential D league team in Springfield, Mass. Would that be a better fit for the Celtics? i mean what other NBA team would affiliate D league team in Mass, it seems to make more sense. But the C's have made their interest in the team known so it should be interesting to see how it develops.

So i heard that this d league team might not be affiliated with the celtics? this makes virtually no sense. If you look geographically at where the teams are placed throughout the US there are hardly any on the east coast, especially the northeast. The current affiliate for the celtics is the Utah Flash. Why wouldn't you make there D league affiliate th ONLY team in New England where thay have a huge fanbase?!?!

I was at the launch yesterday at portland high school to witness the event first hand. All that has been announced is that there will be a team in Maine. BUT there were a few key people there to hint otherwise. Casey Jones and Celtics President Rich Gothim both spoke and voiced there hope that Boston players would soon play in Portland. Also the man who spearheaded the effort to get the team here in the first place is none other than former Celtics asistant coach Jon Jennings. All signs point to the green and white, but no official announcement has been made. I am curious as to how real Celtics fans feel about the possibility.
