I have bled the blue and gold (and black & red) for 3 decades now and haven't missed a Sabres game in person or on TV in 15 years (except for my wedding night. During my best man's speech, the Sabres/Canadiens game actually started bleeding through the PA system. I might have heard my new wife mutter something like "figures". Guess what? Now SHE'S hooked!)

I grew up on Gil Perreault's breathtaking rushes, Mike Foligno's signature jump, the dynamic duo of Patty LaLa & Alexander the Great, the greatest regular season goaltending of the Dominator and those great teams with Dru and Briere. I saw Gretzky's record breaking goal in the Aud, was there on opening night at HSBC arena (and I went by myself), Sat in my car outside a nightclub, on a freezing April night, and listened to the last 3 periods of the 7 period playoff game against the Devils. And then went home and proceeded to watch it, in it's entirety, on TWO VHS tapes. I still have those 2 tapes.

I have a passion for ice hockey, and in particular the Buffalo Sabres, like no other. I desperately want a Stanley Cup for the Sabres, and my posts here on Diebytheblade will reflect that passion. Here's hoping my enthusiasm shines through...and if I offend anyone along the way, well, blame it on Darcy!!! ;)
