and yesterday.

Jake Woods has been optioned to AAA Tacoma, which still means that he could be picked up and/or outrighted.

Yesterday's news was that Jason Davis cleared waivers and was outrighted to AAA Tacoma.

For those of you who don't believe me, I can't give you a link.  I get the info in the press release, which can't be copied and pasted, nor linked to.

Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez has been suspended for one game for bumping the ump in the first game of the series.  He will serve the suspension today, unless he appeals.

Originally reported this afternoon and announced on his radio program, Dan Patrick is leaving ESPN, which does include his radio show.

The last day of his radio program will be August 17, 2007.  It will be sad to see a decent radio program go by the wayside.  I guess it has served its purpose.

Jerome Williams & Brandon Claussen both signed with the Washington Nationals today.  Williams incentive laden minor league deal and Claussen straight minor league deal.

Yankees: The New York Daily News is reporting that even though the club has Andy Pettitte and most likely has Kei Igawa on the way and Clemens on their radar, they may also have interest in Joel Pineiro. The Daily News said a person familiar with the Yankees' thinking said the team also has renewed interest in the right-hander, who became a free agent Tuesday when he was not tendered a contract by the Mariners. Pineiro is 28 and made $6.8 million last season when he went 8-13 with a career-worst 6.36 ERA in 40 appearances -- including 25 starts before he was shifted to the bullpen in August. The newspaper reported the Yanks also had expressed interest in Pineiro before the July 31 trade deadline before acquiring Cory Lidle in the Bobby Abreu trade.

His comments, etc. have gone down a little this year.  I thought he was pretty decent, just from listening to the M's broadcasts for the past couple of years.

I didn't see if mentioned anywhere else on here, but could have easily missed it.  I haven't read everything like some of you (no disrespect meant by any means).

He was a friend of my bro for years, so I thought it should be mentioned, especially since he was an EX-M's player. Also, Justin Leone was DFA'd from Portland by the Padres on 9/1.

I am not sure if anyone has posted this or not.  I think it could have been read at the times, however this came from Rotoworld:

[After initially saying he'd begin a minor league rehab assignment Thursday, the Mariners now don't think Jeremy Reed (thumb) will be ready.

"As of today, he's not quite ready," trainer Rick Griffin said. "We don't want him to be 75 percent or 80 percent. We want him to be 95 or 100 percent"]

Maybe just another delay of the inevitable.
