Questions about new ownership...

It is being reported that we are about to have an owner...the Ricketts. So, I might be behind on these discussions, but what does this mean for the future of the team? Wrigley? Is he gonna bring a big payroll? Be a tightwad? Yankees type payroll? Marlins like? Are they/he all about preserving Wrigley? Build a new park? Rename it? Please help...just generally, is this good for the team and fans? Is he gonna be passionate about winning? Thanks for helping...

Not trying to stir up trouble, but it's all a product of not playing like we did the last 2 years...

We all sit around and want to blame somebody, and alot of everybodies. Blame Lou/Hendry/Bradley/Miles/Sori/etc. It's all because we aren't winning obviously, and we all want someone to piss and moan about. No matter what Lou does, he will be the center of blame. He doesn't show any fire/shows too much fire by calling MB names...come on. Lots of things haven't been right this year, and you can blame the TEAM for that. Yea, you might be able to blame a leader like Lou, but he is the same manager as the last 2 years. It has been from poor play all around, not from certain individuals, but the team! And with the Lou/Bradley thing, IMHO I think Lou calling Bradley a pos is the same as Bradley slamming stuff around. It was done out of frustration...neither being very professional. But, both having the opportunity to man-up, own their words/actions and apologize. Then get on with baseball/business and start winning this division...that seems to be what Lou is trying to do...I hope MB does, too!

This Old Cub: Ron Santo special to air on MLB network

Set your DVR's. MLB network is once again being awesome! Their coverage of baseball is in no way comparable to ESPN. It is way better! They are doing a tribute to Ron this Sunday night, June 14th @ 8:00pm central time, 9pm eastern. It is my hope that this video will be a wonderful showcase to all the Hall of Fame voters just how truly great our Ron is. I think this is Ron's year!!

Al's book mentioned on air...

I have been on here frequently throughtout the afternoon. I had many errands to run, and stupid stuff to do. Yet, I still had access to listening to Pat and Ron via "at bat" for iphone... I heard Pat talking about books that cubs fans may be interested in. He talked about "Cubs by the Numbers" by Al, and others I believe. Congrats Al!! Sounds like it is a hit. Glad it is/and is going to be a continued success!! If anyone has the ability to find and put the audio clip from Pat, it would be pretty cool. Surely I'm not the only one that heard him mention it!! LOL

Another reason to get an iPhone

Whether you love or hate the iPhone, you must admit that the newest feature to the MLB at bat is awesome!! The newest feature to the MLB at bat application is that you get to watch the condensed version of EVERY game!! The condensed version shows every out, and every pitch in 10-15 minutes. That is in addition to the live gameday audio! It is also very easy to use as just a schedule/standings aid. Best $10 I ever spent!! There is also a decent app that is built for stats. And it seems to be up to date most of the time. Shows just basic stats, though...not sure of the name of the app. Just search for "baseball stats" This maybe should have been a fanshot, I don't know. But, I didn't understand that fanshot page. Plus there should be an "info" tab for fanshots. Just an idea...

GO...Cardinals??!!??

Yea, i know it seems weird to say and/or hear.

it seems to me that it would be better for the4 cubs if the brewers missed the playoffs altogether.  though i am not scared of them or anyone else, i think that they are the team to pose the biggest threaqt to the cubs in the postseason.

i will be rooting for the cardinals in the upcoming head to head matchup btween the brewers and cards.  i know it is only a 2 game series.  i know alot of people may say "be careful what you wish for" but i am wishing for the best as i see it for the cubs.

and btw how often do teams get 2 days off out of 4?  i noticed the cards/brewers are both off monday AND thursday next week.  all the while, the cubs have to play all 4 days.  whats up with that?

im sure some people will bash me for saying these things, but it is how i feel! how about you?

How did it all start...for you?

Sorry im just sitting here at my computer, wishing there was a game thread, lol.  bored out of my mind.

Fun off-day topic:  HOW did you become a cubs fan??  were you young when you did?  did you come to baseball or the cubs later in life?  what major memories brought you to the status of a "bleeder of cubbie blue?"  in other words, what made you the hardcore fan you are?

My story:  i remember when i was in like kindergarten, my grandpa gave me a cubs jacket, it wasnt any jacket either, it was a shiny, official field jacket you saw the cubs wear on cold nights.  it was sweet!!  My grandpa was baiting me into this wonderful thing we call cubdom!  i remember he invited me over to watch games on WGN, i remember watching Ryno and Grace.  I absolutley fell in love with the cubs!  i watched all the time.

My grandpa passed away last year about a month before the playoffs.  he was buried with his cubs hat that he wore for about 15 years, because he wore the last decades hat out.  i inherited all his cubs stuff.

My grandpa is the reason that i am a fanatic of our beloved cubbies...i would give anything to have him beside me when the third out is made when we win the WS this year. and im sure thats the first thing we talk about when i find him in heaven!

Whats your story?
