Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged an Ode to T.O.

Yes I am one of "those" T.O. sympathists. Why? Becasue I love football. I love seeing it played with passion, intensity, and skill. Terrell Eldorado Owens embodied all of these attributes. He was also an a$$hole, but I don't need to like a player to want to cheer for him.

T.O. loves him some T.O. and Manny Ramirez is just being Manny, and let's not forget Rodman. This is my own personal opinion but what I think all 3 of these professional athletes have in common is all are/were horrible teammates and that late in their careers they were brought in to do one thing, bring their respectives teams a championship based on their abilities to play the game.

I think Jerry Jones is weak and succumbed to media pressure by cutting T.O. And me saying that is no joke because I have defended Jerry many times before. I think Garret is a hypocrite and blaming T.O. for his piss poor coaching as an O.C.. Garret took the job knowing T.O. was on the roster. If it was a him or me situation then why did he take the job? T.O. was a jerk, whiny, cry baby in SF and Philly so why did the Boy's sign him? Because he is a great player. His numbers speak for themselves.

Were said numbers in decline, yes, but thinking Williams, Crayton, or Miles are going to put up better numbers this season is a reach in my opinion. His age may dictate that he was due to further decline but has there ever been a receiver in such great physical condition as Owens? I think James Lofton played to the ripe of old age of 37 and Owens looks to be in much better shape. And anyways T.O. was already paid so what does it hurt to find out?

And before anyone goes off on a rant, no I do not think by cutting T.O. the Cowboys are gonna go all Detroit Lions on us and be the worst team in the NFL, and yes I know there are other great players like Witten, Barber, and Jones, but I do think that they lessened their chances at a Super Bowl run. This team is less talented without T.O. that is what I am saying.

Don't fault T.O. for being himself especially when everybody already knew who he was from the get go. He was cut for all the wrong reasons.

Thanks for reading.

How the Reeves deal fell through (At least How I think it did)

I think Grizz hit the nail on the head with this statement:

"So Reeves thought he was creating a position with executive authority and Jerry was viewing it more as an assistant coach."

And this is how I think it all could've went down:

Jerry: Maybe we should hire a consultant?
Wade: Hey my buddy Dan would be a great choice!
Jerry: Great let's bring him in.
Jerry to self: Thank God now we have somebody that will help Wade out.
Wade to self: Thank God now we have somebody that will help Jerry out.

Wade: Hey Dan, Jerry wants to hire you as a consultant!
Dan: That sounds great I would love to be part of the Cowboys again!

Jerry: Hey Dan how would like to become a consultant for the Cowboys?
Dan: That sounds great when can i start?
Jerry: Just come on down and we'll get you an office and hammer out the details when you get here.

Jerry: Thanks for coming Dan. So here's the contract. You will be reporting to Wade.
Dan: Whoa. I thought I was being brought in as a consultant?
Jerry: You are being brought in as a consultant. A consultant to Wade.
Dan: Isn't that basically being an assistant coach?
Jerry: No because you won't be coaching you will be consulting.
Dan: I thought I was being brought in as an Executive?
Jerry: Oh heavens no I handle all of the executive decisions and sometimes I let Stephen think he's an executive. I have got everything under control. It's Wade who needs help. That locker room is a nightmare. And did you see that Philly game?
Dan: Sorry Jerry my health won't let me work the hours necessary to assist err consult a head coach. I am going t o have to pass.
Jerry: I'm sorry to hear that Dan, Wade was really excited about the idea of having a consultant on board.

There you have it folks.

And it wasn't T.O.'s fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
