OT - German Shepherd Breeder
Kind of an obscure question, so mods can delete this if it violates anything, but I just moved here and don't have anyone else to ask. I have used the google but surprisingly have found few good leads.
Anyone know of any good German Shepherd breeders in the area? Or know how to point me in the right direction? I am hoping to pick up a puppy in the next few months and was hoping to get a recommendation from someone. I had a good one lined up in San Diego but moved before I could make the choice.
LOL YANKEES
I guess a billion dollars of swindled money doesnt get you what it used to.
OT - Baseball Mogul Online
Was wondering if anyone played the old Baseball Mogul Online before it closed up. Baseball-Manager-Online bought it and is running it for free as they try to spruce it up. Currently it is still the same as before with a few minor tweaks. I just found out about it, anyone else playing in any leagues?

Opening Day
Over the last 6 months I have been in the process of relocating from San Diego, back home to the Bay Area. One of the reasons for the move was to attend Giants home games rather than watch games at Petco amongst a fairweather, low baseball IQ group of people. I have posted here for assistance with the job hunt and location hunt, but now I come to the McCoven for a different reason.
One of my hopes was to attend Opening Day. I have tickets to "Opening Night" (Since when do they make a big deal about that?). I will be solo for Opening Day and was just wondering if anyone here had a ticket they would like to sell or something to Opening Day. If not, is there a super awesome place in the city I should watch the game at?
Any additional Opening Day advice would also be welcome.
You have to feel sorry for this kid
What I don't understand is why he just doesn't take the Rick Ankiel route. Maybe minus the HGH.
OT - Where to live?
So a few months ago, I posted this. I ended up getting hired on with a very solid restaurant company who is giving me a 30% raise over my previous position in San Diego.
I begin training in San Jose next week and will be living at a Marriott for almost 3 months. During that time I will be looking for permanent rental housing in the bay.
After training it looks like I will be working in Concord, while my significant other already works in downtown San Francisco. So I am thinking the west Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, Rockridge areas will be where I will start my search. I was hoping everyone here would have some input as to specific places I should look. Neighborhoods to avoid, etc. We plan on using BART, so being in the vicinity of a BART stop is important.
Look forward to everyones feedback!
OT - Moving back to Northern California
I was going to title my post "Fielder>>>Cain" but didn't want to risk getting destroyed...
While I don't post often, I read almost every post, all day, every day.
I live in San Diego. I love the city, hate the sports teams and the people. I grew up in Monterey and have been a Giants fan since... birth i guess? I attend all Giants games down here at the boring hellhole that is Petco and make a trip up to the bay once a year to catch a series with my pops.
Even with the terrible economy I have decided to leave my stable job in search of work in the Bay Area. I am currently a General Manager with a local restaurant chain and am looking for a similiar job anywhere from South San Jose to Marin. My move date is the last week of February.
I call upon my fellow McCoven to assist me in any way possible. I don't want to sleep on your couch or eat your Cocoa Puffs (Hijack topic: best cereal???), but I would LOVE any advice or help I could get. If there is anyone around here in the Restaurant Industry that could offer tips, or anyone who would like to proof my resume, or any rich bastard that owns a restaurant in need of a high energy, positive manager, PLEASE let me know. I will be forever grateful!

No Jail for Vick?
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=bryant_howard&id=2990177
this article brings up the details from todays guilty plea by michael vick, and points out the possibility that, if vick can snitch on enough people, he might stay out of jail. how does everyone feel about this?
How long do we wait to buy into Rajai Davis?
well, i know he's had limited experience with the big club so far. but i gotta say, davis has been exciting. i LOVE watching him SO FAR. i dont know, this could all blow up in my face. but in 18 at-bats he's hitting .389 with a .500 obp and 4 stolen bases. i know dave roberts was obsolete already, but this guy and freddy lewis should blast him out of a giants uni forever. ive wanted to get excited about a giants player all year (besides timmy, and k-fran has been misused). when can i offically get excited about r-dav? (someone please nickname him).
maybe he'll flame out, but for now, even if only for a few days, im thinking sabean may have pulled a rabbit out of littlefields ass. no? yes? i dont know. someone tell me what to do?!?! im getting excited and i dont wanna get dissapointed!!!!
