Kent Emanuel, UNC freshman pitcher and 2010 19th round selection of your Pittsburgh Pirates, just threw the first complete game in the CWS in five years. He scattered four hits over 9 innings to eliminate the Texas Longhorns. I'm sure he slipped to the 19th round due to signability concerns, but he was a bit under the radar as he was rated the 20th best prospect in Georgia prior to the draft last year.

FWIW, Joe Lunardi doesn't have this year's basketball squad making the round of 64. The Big Ten gets 7 hypothetical teams in the dance. Not a huge surprise considering the loss of Cornley and Pringle coupled with the overall predicted improvement in the Big Ten. Let's hope the boys prove him wrong this year with their (slightly) beefed up schedule.
