It's Christina Hendricks' 35th birthday! I don't think much else needs to be said.

If we change the title of his Wikipedia entry to "[NAME REDACTED]", how long do you think until the WikiPolice change it back??

Lady Ruggers may lose '10 MARFU Title

14

Confusion over a transfer's paperwork and eligibility. It would be a shame to see them lose the title over something like this. The fact that the MARFU president says it seems like an honest mistake is promising, though.

Need Help with a Mock Draft

3

So here's the thing: Gang Green Nation is doing a community Mock Draft, and having recently moved to the UP of Michigan, I took the Packers. It's my turn to pick. From what I saw and read last season, you have just about no offensive line and your pass rush needs help. Many of the usual top pass-rushing and OL prospects are gone, but here are the notable ones left: Jerry Hughes (DE/LB, TCU) Mike Iupati (OL, Idaho) Everson Griffen (DT, USC) Charles Brown (T, USC) So those are the guys I'm leaning towards at the moment. I'm most likely going to select Hughes, though many could make a strong case for Iupati. I just threw the other 2 names out there as people that have some buzz around them who tend to be well thought of. Thanks! UPDATE: Ended up taking Iupati. Figured it's more important to protect your (franchise) quarterback than to get after the other team's quarterback.

Royster Injures Knee, could miss '10

Happened during last evening's practice, video was posted by Digital Collegian this morning. The Knee-Hating Gods return with a vengeance... Poz, Lee, Mauti, and now it moves to offense... sigh.

Clyde's 65 Today

Editor's Note: Woo! He's eligible for Social Security now! (Or does that kick in when you're 62?) Either way, happy birthday! Going to steal some highlights from the comments: Older and bolder! Aging and assuaging! Staying and graying! Healthy and stealthy! Geriatric and elastic! Enduring and maturing! Gentrifying and electrifying!

"Wait, wait, wait," you say. "Tim Brewster doesn't have a word-a-day calendar that would have the word 'great' in it." Yes, he does. He's Tim Brewster. He's got a room temperature IQ and he loves to meet new people. He's every mediocre coach you've ever seen, plus a charming case of Motivational Tourrette's. May Minnesota never let him go.

Antonio Cromartie on the market... pursue?

So apparently, the word is that the Charges are shopping Cromartie for a RB or a draft pick(s) (As per this from ESPN). This is intriguing to me... We have depth at RB as we stand right now,...

Haiti Earthquake Relief

Hey guys, I realize this is a sports blog, but we are all human, and we owe it to each other to help when disaster strikes. Most of you probably know about the 7.0 magnitude quake that was centered...

Frankie's Birthday

Just his wiki page, but he popped up on the AP newswire. I'll be giving a shout-out on air this morning, don't you worry. Happy 28th.

Kerry Collins' Birthday

Can't link to the AP newswire system, but here's his Wikipedia page. Hooray! Happy 37th. I'm including him in today's broadcast, for sure. Don't you even worry.

Define "impact"

7

A poll posted on ESPN's sports nation site. Last poll on page. If by "impact" they mean "condoning cheating," then I guess Bowden has had a more of an impact on FSU than Paterno on PSU. I don't think Bowden will have any libraries with his family name on them at FSU anytime soon, though. So there's that. I think we know the right answer.

Gang Green Nation remembers 9-11

1

I know, it's not PSU and it's not football, but for those of us from the NYC area or knew people directly impacted (or for any of us actually), it's a stirring recollection of the events of that horrible day. I'll never forget that day, nor will any of you, I'm sure. I still remember when I heard about it. I was walking from English to Science between 3rd and 4th period in freshman year when my friend Colleen told me about it.

TR,E Bowl Projections

Okay, maybe we sip a little kool-aid from time to time here, but the Alamo Bowl?? Behind OSU, Iowa, Illinois, and MICHIGAN? Really???
