Hopefully this hasn't already been posted...if so I apologize.  This artice on Yahoo is suggesting that if we, the Yankees, or the Giants win the World Series, the team may go down as the worst team to ever win a championship.  Anyways, thought some of you may be interested in reading it.

does anyone know for sure what time the gates open saturday?  i called the other day and one lady told me 10 which seemed way too early to me.  so i called back and the next guy told me 12.30.  does anyone know for sure what time the gates will open.

I know this is not at all related to Astros news, but I was hoping to get some help from the locals.  We will be in Houston next week and are setting aside an entire day to go to NASA.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to be sure and do there...should we take the day long tour?  Or should we just go and look around ourselves not with the help of a tour guide?

What are the must do's there, and what should we not waste our time on?

Any help is appreciated.

My family and I will be visiting Houston in late July, and we have tickets for the 7/28 day game at 1:05.  I have an 11 year old and a 7 year old.  We see 15 or 20 Rangers games a year, and just wanted to try something different...so we deicided to slide down to Houston to see the Astros.

I have a couple of general questions about the game, and I will appreciate any info, help, or suggestions that any of you may have.

First of all, we always get to the game early and get in as soon as the gates open...I am assuming for a 1:05 first pitch the gates open around 11:30?

Secondly, I have been to Minute Maid once, and it was the first year it was opened.  The way I remember it, parking was very limited.  If I am around the park by 10:30 or so, where are some good lots to park at...I am not worried about the price of parking, but of course I would like to be as close to the stadium as possible.  Anyone have any secret spots that are close?

Finally, does the ballpark have a kid park, or any kind of kid related section?  The kids always like to have something else to do if the game runs long or gets out of hand.

Anyways, help me out if you can...I appreciate any info.

I know it is really too early to be looking into getting tickets, but I live around 6 hours away and need to go ahead and get plans made.  I would like tickets to the UCLA, Baylor, and OK State games.  I need anywhere from 2 to 4 tickets each game, and the tickets must be lower level sideline or endzone seats.  Any season ticket holders who are willing to part with their tickets to any of these games, please contact me at pwh9980@yahoo.com.  I look forward to hearing from some of you.

I am planning on taking my kids to the Fan Fest that is coming up soon.  Has anyone on this blog ever been, and if so what is it like?

Do all the events last all day, or do they rotate events throughout the day?

I guess I am asking if we need to be there from 9 to 5 to get the full experience or can you do anything they offer at any time of the day?

What type of players and ex-Rangers do they have signing autographs?  Are they big names or more of the prospect/backup type players?

Anyways, anyone who has any input or suggestions for me, please let me know what events to be sure and hit, and about how long I should plan on being there.

I have read alot of reports on the internet about CJ Wilson possibly being included in a deal with Teixeira to "sweeten the pot for other teams."  Has anyone else heard anything about this.  I would be really disappointed if this were to happen.  He dominates lefties, and he is one of my favorite Rangers.  Anyways, any thoughts or info on this................................................................................................ .................................................................................................... ..............................................................................................

I know they changed the times the gates open this year before games, and then changed it back I think.  But, I have never been to a 2:05 start time.  What time will they open the gates and let the fans in for the Sunday, April 22 2:05 game?  Thanks for any help.

I am planning on taking two or three kids off of my little league team to the game on Sunday.  Where do you think we should try and sit?  What is the most affordable option that still gives them the whole feel of the ballgame?  Only one of these kids have ever been to a ballgame before.

If anyone has any suggestions, or even have any tickets they want to get rid of, let me know.  I am probably going to need about 4-6 tickets.

How long will we have to watch players like Wilkerson and Lofton completely suck before changes are made?

I know it has only been six games, but after watching Wilkerson suck last year, and just look stupid at the plate tonight, isn't is close to time to cut ties and give his AB's to someone else?  As for Lofton, he looks lost at the plate to me as well.

Anyways, how long until something changes, and if changes actually do take place, what players will benefit from the changes?

Everyone has probably already seen this, but I am bored at work so I thought I would post this.

I need some help fellas.  My girlfriend and me have a very nice bet on whether or not Josh Lewin is the play by play guy for the San Diego Chargers?  We always hear the guy on LT highlights, but she does not think it is him.  I believe it has to be, sounds exactly like him.  Anyways, this is a bet I would really like to win, so if anyone can help us out I would really appreciate it.

I finally got a place where I have room to have dogs.  I just bought two brown labs.  What should I name them?

I really want to name them something baseball-related.  But so far, the only two names I have are golf related, Birdie and Bogey.  Anyone know of any cool pet names related to baseball, fill me in.

I have to say, I was very excited.  Assuming these are still "spring training" innings for him , I think with one or two more starts he gets stretched out a little.  He pitched great for three innings, and then obviously was getting tired before being rattled by the check swing call on A-Rod (which was blatantly obvious).

If he can put in 5 or 6 innings a start with even close performance of those first three innings, I think he will be the boost we were hoping for.  

What are your thoughts on this?

When Eaton gets back, what will the rotation look like?  Millwood, Padilla, and Eaton are the for sures.  Does Wasdin or Rheinecker get bumped?  Is Koronka a for sure to stay in the rotation?

I am just trying to figure out what kind of rotation we are taking into the backstretch.  

Hopefully we make a move that will mean only one of the three of Wasdin, Rheinecker, and Koronka have to be in the rotation.

In this article, it talks about Daniels looking into every pitching option, from Dontrelle to Scott Elarton.  Freakin Scott Elarton.  Please tell me he would not do something that stupid.

Is there any chance that if we were to be so fortunate to get rid of Buck, that Rudy Jaramillo would be given a chance to manage?  

I wish we would so we could keephim in our organization.  Before long, someone will lure him away from us with an offer to manage.  

Does anyone who wants Buck gone have any replacement ideas in mind?

i did not get to watch all of the game, but what i did see from wilkerson was not good.  i saw 2 strikeouts, a grounder into a double play, and the horrible line he took to the ball figgins hit into left center.  we should have kept soriano and put him in left.  if he would move for the nats he would have moved for us.

I did not get to watch or listen to the game today due to school, but I hope Chan Ho Millwood looked better than the box score made him look.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

Adam, I have read this site for a while, and believe that you are very knowledgeable about the Rangers and baseball.  But, I do not understand how trading on of the premier players in the league for Wilkerson, who had numerous injuries and career lows last year, Sledge, who had a very major injury last year, and some unproven pitcher is considered to be a great trade.  I do realize that we basically had no choice but to get rid of Soriano, but why not get at least a pitcher with some credentials in the league?  This trade does not improve the pitching staff, and makes perhaps the Rangers deepest position even deeper.  I am not convinced that Ian Kinsler will come in and light up the league, although I hope he will.  We tried that with Nix and Laird recently, and it was not that productive.  I believe we should have kept Soriano until June and July when teams are desperately looking for a big bat, and are a little more generous with what they will give in return.  Maybe I am just not seeing something else that is going to follow this, i.e. another big trade.  So, let me know if you have anything so I can better understand this deal.
