Editor's Note: The 2012 NBA Draft is just around the corner, and that means it's time to start looking at this year's prospects. We've enlisted the help of a couple of our community's top draftnicks to break down as many prospects as possible from this year's class, whether they're high-lottery picks, potential first-round sliders or sleepers that could make an impact on a team from the second round. Today: Kentucky center Anthony Davis, by qthaballa.
PREVIOUSLY: Bradley Beal, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Thomas Robinson, Harrison Barnes, Andre Drummond.

Chris Singleton signs with Spalding
Congrats but its weird to see something like this involving someone with a relatively low profile (Chalmers plays in Miami and Fredette was a major draw in college so I guess I can understand their inclusion)
Wizards need Jeremy Lamb
We were mostly in consensus in thinking big man last year and there has been some grumbling about it this year as well but I feel with the combination of McGee-Booker-Singleton gaining some sort of defensive identity and the alarming lack of players able to shoot, let alone score, all draft signs point to one player.
WTF? Not our meek and soft spoken QB?
Please watch at least the first 10 seconds. Oh, and its definitely going down Sunday!
Kevin Seraphin playing LIVE! (Canada vs. France)
Looks like its in the 3rd quarter. Game also has Tony Parker, Boris Diaw and Ronnie Turiaf from who I can see
-Just saw Seraphin commit a silly hip check reminiscent of his many last year
-Seraphin right after that had a nice finish in heavy traffic
Props to daca for the link
Jan Vesely Media day interview
In case anyone hasn't seen it. Also, a promising quote "If Vesely can shore up his ball-handling and perimeter shooting ability, he has all the makings of an incredibly versatile player."
Wizards draft a Win-Win
Last year was not a great year but we all expected that with the rebuild. We need not to forget what happened after the trades commenced and the team started to get comfortable with the roster pretty much set. The team played with great energy and began to compete almost on a nightly basis.
Think of that, and realize that the team was low-key ravaged by injuries:
-Rashard Lewis missed games, Josh Howard hardly played, Wall was banged up, Blatche was hurt and Nick Young even missed a chunk.
Now take into consideration that this team will be the same, except healthier, more accustomed to each other and likely not losing anyone who made an impact last season. If anything, we will be gaining a 2 very good players (Vesely and whoever we pick at 18, hopefully Tobias Harris). And also a further developed Seraphin who should be miles better in terms of his shape and the language barrier.
Guys, we're good. At worse, we suck again and have a chance to do it all again next year in a deeper draft.
Wizards Logo Redesign
Slightly old news, but if I'm just now seeing this I may not be the only one. This shows a potential logo for this new era Wizards squad. Looks a bit YMCA-ish, but I actually dig it.
Gilbert baby!!!!!!!!
This is purely inspired by the fan in me. I said I was done, but I just can't quit our former savior. He's stunk it up all year, but is having a vintage Gilbert type outburst during the 2nd half of this Magic-Hawks playoff series. This post is in appreciation of that, and any other comments, thoughts or observations on Gil and the Magic until they're eliminated.
Capt. Kirk also gets a huge shoutout for his stout defense in the first few games. Jameer had some success but Kirk kept him mostly under control. Also, the hedges. Can't forget about the hedges.
SI's Draft prospects breakdown
Anyone interested in the draft should at least take a peak at this. It's a great write up of most prospects in this upcoming drafts through the eyes of NBA scouts. Minus Enes kanter
Hawks interested in Hinrich
From David Aldridge. Basically Wiz want a young player and a 1st round pick and the Hawks are reluctant to give up both. The Hawks are also trying to convince Washington to take back Bibby for Hinrich...lol
Wizards 2011 Draft pick: Jared Sullinger
Not an entirely insightful post because there has already been an entire breakdown courtesy of Rook and I'm also pretty sure most, if not all Wiz fans know what needs to be done in the upcoming draft. But I just can't explain how excited I will be if the Wiz actaully have the oppourtunity to draft this kid.
The Great Debate: Nick Young
I've never posted before but Rook's player analysis and the comments that followed made this feel like a necessity. That post about whether or not Young is good enough to be a starting SG on a playoff team was met with an alarming amount of trade ruminations (at least in my opinion). The word trade keeps coming up and i don’t understand it at all. Nick has been playing good basketball and is basically the Wizards’ main source of offense. Young fits in the system and plays well off of Wall and is a pretty consistent shooter (which is something the Wizards severely lack at this point). He is still young and was drafted here.
Not sure how to use the jump but, more thoughts after it...
