This quote shows why John Wooden is the gold standard of coaching, and the attitude that this story embodies applies to all sports, including football. KD does not any may never embody this attitude, and that is the simplest reason to fire him regardless of what he does this weekend:

Bill Walton: "Coach Wooden in the four years I played for him never called a timeout. He always felt that timeouts were an admission of defeat, and would only allow the other team to regroup."

Now thats the true attitude of a UCLA coach, regardless of sport. I've never seen KD show that level of confidence in himself or his team, and I've never seen him as passionate about winning. Compare him to the attitude Wooden brought to winning, and there's no reason for him to stay.

Coaches Hot Seat is updated for this weekend, and what do you know, KD finally wins something.

CHS ends with this chilling prediction if the school muffs another hiring:

"If they don't get it right this time, then UCLA football will drift off into never-never land and will not be seen or heard from again for a long time to come."

here's a link:

http://www.coacheshotseat.com/CoachesHotSeatBlog.htm
