Arrowhead Pride Tickets

Does anyone want some free tickets to the game this weekend against the Bills?  I'm a season ticket holder from Oklahoma and can't make it to the game (gotta go Christmas shopping with the wife).  I'm willing to just give them to someone if they'd like to go.  Section 342 row 38 seats 1-2.  They're just going to waste if no one wants them.  I won't be in front of the computer for long so post quick if you want them.

Arrowhead Pride My Theory

So it's half time of Monday Night Football and I had a random thought.  I've never heard this theory before so I'd like to hear everyone else's opinion.  My theory is that the NFL has become so strict on pass interference penalties, late hits, etc. so that offenses can really put up big numbers.  The NFL knows that offense sales tickets and they want to butts in the seats.  The NFL is trying to handcuff defenses so that receivers and quarterbacks can have huge days (unless you're the Chiefs of course).  I'd say it has little to do with player safety and a lot to do with selling tickets.  It's hard to argue that they care a lot about player safety whenever the NFL won't allow private physicians to access concussions.  They'll only allow their team physicians to evaluate them-I'm sure that the GMs and coaches have a lot of pull in the outcome of the player.  I believe I'm correct on the previous comment, but I could be wrong.  Anyway, please give me your thoughts on this theory.  Don't ask why I had this random thought during halftime.

This is just a theory of mine.

Arrowhead Pride An Unbelievable Chiefs Weekend!

I had a great Chiefs weekend and I wanted to share with the other AP members.

I had a string of luck like I've never had before.  I'm a first year season ticket holder from Oklahoma, but I have gone to 3-4 games per season for years.  I've never had the luck that I had this past weekend for the Texans game.

The weekend started when I left Oklahoma at 5:00 AM Saturday morning and my father-in-law and I had a tee time at a KC golf course at 10:00 because we wanted to get a round of golf in before the game.  The trip from Oklahoma takes 3-4 hours so we arrived at the golf course around 9:00.

We were by ourselves so the golf course paired us with another couple of guys to speed up play.  We met the guys and started to play.  The guys were nice and kept talking about the Chiefs.  I asked them if they were going to the game and they said no, but that one of their dads were going to be working at the game tonight.

I asked who his dad was and he said that his dad was Len Dawson and his friend's dad was Hank Stram.  My jaw hit the ground because I'm a major Chiefs fan.  It was a great day because they shared some great stories about their dads and they seemed like super nice guys.

We played 18 holes and had a great time.  I'm a 31 year old guy and I felt like a 10 year old soaking in the experience.  If that's not enough, we finished golf around 2:30 and headed to the hotel to check in and take a shower.  I walked to the front desk and they said that they didn't have any two full size beds available because a large was staying there.  They told me to come back after the game and they'd have more rooms available.

I had already purchased the room because I reserved it on Priceline so I couldn't go anywhere else.  I turned around and someone that looked like Tank Tyler walked by.  I told my father-in-law "that looks like Tank Tyler".  I forget about it and said "no way" and walked outside to leave and go to the game and start tailgating.

When I walked outside, Branden Albert was walking toward me.  I said "Branden Albert" and he said "that's me", I shook his and went on.  Pretty soon Tamba Hali walked up, Bernard Pollard pulled up and got out of his car, and Dwayne Bowe pulled up in a black Escalade.  I got a picture with Tank Tyler and talked to a few others.

Pretty cool, but I didn't have a pen to get any autographs because I honestly wasn't prepared to meet any players considering I've been coming for years and this has never happened.  If that's not enough keep reading.

After the game my father-in-law went back to the hotel to get our room (totally drenched from the rain).  The hotel said that they were totally booked and they were having to send people away, but that they were going to set us up in another hotel room downtown for free.  I was a little irritated because all I wanted was to take a shower and put some dry clothes on, but what choice did I have?

I took the voucher and headed downtown.  I arrived at the other hotel between 11:30 to 12:00.  The lobby was totally deserted except for the guy at the desk and myself.  I started to check in and had almost finished when another person walked in, but I didn't pay that much attention to them.  In fact, I never even turned around to see who it was.

After I checked in, I turned around to leave and go park the car and go to my room.  When I turned around the person standing in line behind me was Tyson Jackson and I said "are you Tyson Jackson" and he said "yes sir".  I got a pen from the guy at the desk and finally got an autograph from a player.

Tyson Jackson seemed like a very nice and polite guy and he signed my autograph even though he was obviously talking on his cell phone.  Many of you have probably met players and think that this a not a big deal, but I don't live around Kansas City and Saturday was a day I'll never forget.  The only bad part of the day was the Chiefs lost, they didn't look very good doing it, and I set for four quarters in the pouring rain, but oh well GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!
