Windy City Gridiron Enough with the Greg Olsen hate..

I am so sick of hearing people cry about how awful Greg Olsen is.  Half the people here complain and say that he drops everything thrown his way.  Lets see something...

NFL  Leaders: Pass Dropped by TE's (5 or more)  (Thru Jan. 3, 2010)

Vernon Davis - 11 Drops

Brent Celek - 9 Drops

Dallas Clark - 9 Drops

Randy McMichael - 9 Drops

Antonio Gates - 7 Drops

Daniel Coats - 6 Drops

Visanthe Shiancoe - 6 Drops

Fred Davis - 5 Drops

Brandon Pettigrew - 5 Drops

Kellen Winslow - 5 Drops

Neat.  This means Greg Olson had fewer than 5 dropped passes.  And look at the names that have more.  You are right people, Greg "Brick Hands" Olsen is terrible and should be traded right away for a 2nd Round Pick that we can use to draft the Messiah.  Get real people.  Way to appreciate the young talent we have on this very young team that is loaded with potential.  Olsen will thrive in Martz's system.  He can line up anuwhere.  If tall and fast.  He creates problems for defenses and will only get better.  Cutler loves his TE's and trusts Olsen a lot.  Trading him for draft picks is pointless...

Greg Olsen:

Keep in mind that as our only real offensive threat (especially when Hester went down) he faced double coverage all day.

11th in Receiving Yards (612)

15th in Yds/G (38.2)

10th in Rec (60)

Tied 4th in TD’s (8)

Tied 10th in 20+ yd Rec  (9)

Tied 10th in 1st Downs (33)

Fumbles (0)…that’s right ZERO.  For all the fans that say he fumbles too much

Not too bad for our 24 year old scrub TE huh…

Windy City Gridiron Next Years Record

Alright so before I get flamed i just want it to be known that yes i know we will add players this offseason to help but i was just curious as to what people thought about next years schedule.  It looks like a pretty tough road ahead.  I really hope our D can rebound and perform like they are capable of.   Depending on offseason moves i can see us going 9-7 at least.  We do have some tough games tho but this will only show that we can hang with the big dogs.  Any input here?  What do you guys think?
