Someone did pick up a bat and hit Bianco!
Someone did hit Bianco as hard as the Auburn player hit the three run homer! And they knocked him within 3 1/2 hours of Cumberland, MD. I haven't made a game all year, but I can't wait!
I'll have those Rebels hitting this weekend, if it's not baseballs it will be the opposing players.(They aren't allowed to come into the stands, right?)
I hope they throw punches better than they swing the bat.
My brother is working in Virginia, he's only an hour and half away from Charlottesville.
Look for us on TV, we will be the two Rebel fans yelling for and at the Rebels.
It's called tough love.............
They better be ready to represent!
Hotty Toddy!
TSUN is better, damn right!
Bianco falls asleep at the wheel!
It's tough being a Rebel. If it's not the players who seem to squander perfectly good opportunities to Raise the Rebels to the next level, it's our sub par coaching that lets us down.
2nd and 3rd two outs and a man beast, all of 6'4" 230 lbs comes to the plate for the 57th time this year. He only has 14 home runs in 56 at bats on the year.
The catcher and pitcher stare into the dugout to get the free pass sign and to their dismay Bianco insists on pitching to the caveman with a club.
Knowing that most left hand batters have a sweet stroke at the low and inside pitch, Bianco calls for the slider.
The catcher sets up on the inside corner and Huber delivers a beautiful pitch that is hit so fucking hard I heard it all the way up here in Cumberland, Maryland.
Would someone please pick up a bat and hit Bianco in the fucking head, just as hard!
Great move by the Mascot Selection Committee
I received an email today from the committee to join the website(http://mascot.olemiss.edu/?page_id=11) and participate in the selection of the new mascot. The committee has taken the time to include alumni and season ticket holders to their contact list. This is a great move by the committee and should allow those of us who have gone before the present student body to feel apart of the process to select a new mascot.
Go Rebels!
Lansharks attack!
Where the two will meet?
I gave you the worst case scenario of an old Rebel fan and why they feel the way the do, for the most part. Some folks can't let go of anything. Like old cars, they just keep piling up in the yard. You know what I mean, you have seen those homes I am sure. A lot of truth went into my post, and a little exaggeration. The real truth is, what ever the school decides I hope we can always be Rebels.
It appears most are ready to cut the ties to the oldest generation of Rebels who still walk this planet. And to the defense of that generation not all are racist. We always seem to have outside help with the racism issues, go figure. I agree, if they can't change after 40 years they aren't going to. We are better off without them, let's move along.
Let's change our names if we have to and peoples perceptions without a doubt. If we change our name when others say "Aren't ya'll the ones that changed your name 'cause you are racist." We can finally lie like everyone else has done for 40 years to us. "No ma'm, your thinking about Mississippi State, the Bulldogs, down there in Starkville."
"We've always been the Rebackcardsharkels."
Let's be smart, let's make sure our administration picks a positive mascot. So we can get that North end zone finished. Let's do our part as Rebels in hopes this will be a huge turning point for (The) University of Mississippi.
It won't be as easy as you think and it won't be as hard as I made it out to be.
I apologize if I upset any of you. Not really if you didn't want to play the game all you had to do was quit posting.
Hotty Toddy!
Did you guys find your tent yet?
The rebranding of the University of Mississippi
ED - GHOST: ThReAd LoCkEd!1 Per multiple requests, I'm locking these two loads of fun down. Apparently people are just tired of talking about this. T'was an interesting two weeks though, that's for sure.
Branding is used in advertising to give consumers an identity to associate to a corporation. How do you change the branding of a major university without losing the identity those supporters have become accustomed to identifying with the university.
If you change too drastically you will lose the support base that has made your company successful. If you take away core symbols of that branding, what will be the backlash and how can it be overcome?
How can the University of Mississippi make this change successfully?
I have given arguments from someone who has associated the "branding" of the university with the Rebels, civil war and old traditions for 32 years. How can the school change without alienating 45 plus years of supporters?
It appears to me the university could use some professional help in their endeavors, maybe they have received that help and have been told it will be a long and painful process.
Ackbar is scary looking, and I can't see the association with a black bear unless we change from being the Rebels to the Black Bears. I don't see that idea going over too well either.
Are we in the middle of the process now and it will be the slow and painful process, or is the administration just playing it by ear?
We seem to have some impressive people who appear to know the answers to everything. How do we get an entire generation of Rebels on board with a change to improve our perception to the outside world.
Class of 1863

There is nothing at Ole Miss that embodies the tradition of commitment, honor, and duty to the state and the school more than the actions of the class of 1863.
If not for their actions we wouldn't be able to lay claim to being the "Rebels". If we can't continue to honor the class of 1863 then we are frauds.
We should have a new mascot, he should be called "Johnny Reb", he should represent the commitment, honor and duty of all Rebels in representing the state of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi.
Dress him in school colors: grey pants, red or blue jacket with matching hat. He can carry a flag of "Ole Miss" in red or blue. He will look like a soldier from the past, his uniform colors will represent our school, but most important of all he will look like a student from Ole Miss.
If we are to remember any tradition at Ole Miss it should be what we learned from the class of 1863. "Commitment, honor and duty".
There is no other mascot that can express our traditions better than "Johnny Reb"
