Roll 'Bama Roll OK, so I'm lost...

With it being the offseason, I haven't been reading much online or anywhere else about UA or even college football in general. So, could someone, please tell me what exactly is "going on" (or not "going on") in Gadsden. Y'all are probably tired of talking about this. I realise that I'm a little late. I hear "bammers were cheatin." Then I hear "bammers weren't doin no cheatin, it was the boogs." Then I hear something about Finebaum and something about a box, then I hear it was a book. I hear its full of dirt on Bama, then I hear its full of dirt of Auburn. So, if I could get a simple, unbiased crash course on the subject, that'd be great.

Roll 'Bama Roll Also

i forgot to add this in my penalty rant. I honestly feel that i have really taken the past 6 years "on the chin," so to speak. I've handled each loss in a dignified and respectful manner. That being said, the behavior of the Auburn fans that i encountered last night was completely classless. I mean downright trashy. I was told that Julio is on the juice, Saban is leaving when hes offered more money, and that im a m****rf****r. For nothing. I mean, i wasn't even rubbing it in. I was just wearing an Alabama visor. Not even any obnocisious, crimson and white head-to-toe gameday attire.

I was very disappointed. I would have expected this from a corndog or a UT fan, but i expect more of our in-state rivals. They were just disgracing the state of Alabama.

Roll 'Bama Roll Penalties

I have quite a few friends who attend Auburn. I also have a handful of other friends who, through some sort of allegiance, are fans of Auburn. It may have been that they were drunk, but all I heard from them, from the end of the game until around 3 am, was how the officials were "on our side."

You would think that a 36-0 victory would be a fairly solid, undisputable victory, but i felt the need to fire up the ol' DVR and review the game myself.

I watched the entire game and I picked out a total of three penalties that were not called against Alabama, and one was very disputable.

The first came at the 14:53 mark of the 2nd qtr. when Kodi Burns threw a deep pass into double coverage. Kareem Jackson MAY HAVE interfered with the pass to a certain extent, but honestly, the coverage was so tight on him that I'm surprised he was able to breathe. The pass wasn't really that dead-on either.

The second came at the 8:42 mark of the second qtr, when Alabama attempted to block an Auburn punt and wound up roughing the kicker. Even the commentators made a remark about it, but no flag was thrown. Regaurdless, (I may have to watch the game again) I'm fairly sure that it was a third and long situation, and a penalty wouldn't have even helped them here.

The last came...sometime during the third quarter (At this point, I had sort of lost interest in my review, but was carrying on simply to prove my point). It was very evident that pass interference should have been called. There was definitely some jersey grabbing, shoving, and hand slapping. I honestly think they didn't throw a flag on this one because the pass rush was just too hard. Burns would've thrown it INC anyway.

The other thing I had to hear about was the timeout called "during the snap" that prevented Auburn's field goal at the end of the first half. I watched this at least a dozen times in every speed I could. As far as I could tell, Coach Saban called timeout before the ball was in motion. I mean, i really studied that snap.

So, hypothetically speaking, Auburn could have prevented three turnovers. Since they are 13 of 35 in red zone scoring, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and credit them with a touchdown (Remember that this is all hypothetical). Also, I will decuct 14 points from Alabama's score, as a result of them hypothetically not producing the turnovers. In addition, i'll give them the benefit of that field goal.

So, even if all the barners are right, we're still looking at a 22-10 game. It would have been a solid, convincing victory either way.

Roll 'Bama Roll If anyone is interested...

To all Mobilians who will not be making the pilgrimage to the holy land of 'loosa this weekend, I suggest that you check out Rookie's Sports Grill during the game. Pending rain, we will be serving grilled oysters and will have a cash bar outside. We will also be serving a full bar and menu inside. The game will be shown on TV's and projector screens inside and outside.

Also, every time your team scores, you get a 25 cent draft or a $1.50 alabama slammer. Your choice.

I understand that this forum is not for advertisements, but this is more of a suggestion as a fan.

We look forward to seeing you Saturday.

Roll 'Bama Roll I'm so tired...

of all this (explative) that people are talking about Alabama. Someone on an ESPN forum the other day had the audacity to say "I hope Alabama plays Texas in the nat'l championship. It will be hilarious because Alabama hasn't played a real offense."

To hell with that, Texas hasn't played a real defense yet. I mean, I said at the beginning of the season and i'll say it again. I'll be perfectly pleased with a 10 win season or maybe an SEC championship. I (and i'm sure alot of you too) am not concerned about a nat'l championship.

But if they were allready spewing this kind of crap out of their mouths after only week 7, I guess they're concerned about us. RTR.
