Turf Show Times Sources: Rams Intensify Owens Talks

Apparently the Rams are becoming more interested in him.

Heres the report from Chris Mortenson on ESPN.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5407084

How do you guys feel about bringing in T.O.? At first glance i was completely against it but im not so sure. How would he affect the depth chart for our receivers? Could he even still be productive at this stage of his career?

Feel free to give your opinions.

Turf Show Times Just Give Me Something To Get Excited About...

Through all the losing and horrors that have been this season, i find it harder and harder to get hyped up on sundays.

The rams need to make some noise and give us loyal fans a reason to believe that they will do what's necessary to make this team better.

For those  reasons I BEG for the rams to make some moves this off season. I dont care wat it is or who it is just give me a reason to look forward to next year.

PLEASE! IM BEGGING HERE!

Turf Show Times Vick!!!!!!!!

Im sorry but i honestly would like to try out Vick at QB. Hes had a year to sit on the bench and learn the NFL system all over again. He is a physical beast and could very well regain form next year. He doesnt want to be in Philly and wants to start so why not bring him in?! He could actually make plays and be able to move out of the pocket to open up other things.

Take Suh first round and Draft a QB in the second to develop behind vick.

Just imagine a defensive coordinator having to gameplan for Vick AND SJax?!....talk about a nightmare!!!!

Turf Show Times WR in the Second, RT in the Third?

I believe Barron can hold up the LT position so that leaves us needing to draft a RT.

This years draft is deep with O-lineman and i believe we could find a RT in the third round. Im hoping a guy like Phil Loadholt could fall to us.

Now look at the drop off in value from…..

WR in 2nd and a WR in 3rd
             -Significant Drop Off

OT in 2nd and an OT in 3rd
             - Very Little Drop Off

With that said i believe we need to address our WR corp in the second. Many believe we should take a big body like Ziggy Hood to sure up the middle of our line but i i think our WR corps is a bigger need. We have Avery, Burton, and Stanley....definitely not enough. If a guy like Harvin falls to us in the second then i think there is no way we pass up a talent like that. And even if he doesnt then i say draft Brian Robiskie in the second; a tall, strong receiver to compliment Avery.

I liked Clifton Ryan and believe he has potential, that said i think he deserves the chance to prove himself as our NT. He is a big 316 pounds and could be the big run stuffer we have been looking for.

To those that say a CB like Sean Smith in the second...

If Tye Hill can step up and play to his potential as the second starter then i think our secondary would be pretty good. Drafting a CB in the second would be for depth and we definitely need our second pick to start day one. Go CB in the fourth.

This is what I believe would be a good scenario...

1st- Curry

2nd- Robiskie or Harvin(if he falls)

3rd- Loadholt or Meredith(if both are gone best available OT)

4th- Best available CB or Kory Sheets

5th- Best available DT

We get three starters in the first three rounds....pretty successful.

Turf Show Times Why Do None of the "Experts" Have The Rams Taking Curry?

I have been checking all over the place and besides TFT I have not found anyone who thinks the Rams will take Curry with the second pick.

Most have them taking Smith, Monroe, or Crabtree. I personally believe the Rams should take Curry and there is a good chance they will....hence me picking Curry with the second pick while representing the Rams in our community mock draft.

So I wonder why in every report, mock draft, and even conversation..... none of the "experts" have the Rams picking Curry?

Any Explanations?

Turf Show Times Why We Have To Draft Smith...

Our Oline needs help and i dont know about anyone else but i AM ABSOLUTELY SICK OF SEEING BULGER TAKE POUNDNG AFTER POUNDING EACH GAME AND LAYING ON HIS BACK HALF THE GAME! HE NEVER HAS ANY TIME TO THROW THE BALL…DID IT EVER OCCUR TO EVERYONE THAT BULGER, LET ALONE THE WHOLE OFFENSE, WILL NEVER BE ANY GOOD IF THE POCKET INSTANTLY COLLAPSES AND THERE IS ALWAYS LINEMAN IN HIS FACE!

Now in the draft would i rather…

A. take smith in the first round, he has got skills and can come in day one and get better and better each day

OR

B. take a lineman in the third round who would definitely need some work before he could actually produce and be satsfied with Barron protecting bulgers blind sind….hold on let me say that again BARRON!…no way am i satisfied with that

so yes i would love to take curry who i think will be a great player, but i think we bring in a stud like smith to solidify our line and finally give bulger time to throw the ball…then pick up another target for bulger in the 2nd round( i like robiskie )

And by doing that we take the less sexier pick in smith and watch bulger, jackson and the rest of our offense bloom…

...THEN we go linebacker in the third because our offense will go three and out every drive if our oline sucks like last year…and i dont care how great of a player curry is, the defense will be on the field 24/7 (just like last year) and they will absolutely WEAR OUT!!

Now if we do draft smith then this is what our line would look like...

LT Smith, LG Bell, C Brown, RG Incognito or Greco, RT Barron

now this is a line i would be satisfied with and it would allow our offense to finally produce

Other Notes...

i do like culberson at linebacker and ryan at DT…. as a rookie last year Culberson has potential and he could battle for a starting job this year and Ryan is a big body that showed he can play filling in last year

our defense is better then they get credit for its just last year they were on the field way too much because our offense never put up any points and were always going three and out

-oh and i also really like the idea of bringing in lucas-

Go Rams!

Turf Show Times Smith Or Crabtree?

Scenario 1: Draft Crabtree in Round 1 and take the best o-lineman available in round 2

Why: We need a number one reciever because i dont think avery or burton are ready to take the job as our starters. Add him to the mix and i would really like the teen squad plus im not sure how much of a drop off their would be from smith and a lineman in the second round.

OR

Scenario 2: Draft Smith and take the best available wr in the second round (ex robiskie)

Why: Smith would solidify our line and finally give bulger some protection and Jackson some running lanes (if we can get the running game going then i definitely think holt could play like he did two years ago and with a good pickup in the seond round like robiskie then our wide recievers would be talented and would be able to grow throughout the season) .

 Tiebreaker

Holt: If holt stays and the rams dont release him for business purposes, then it would probably lessen our need for a number one. If he goes then we would definitely have a big hole in the recieving corp.

Pace: If Pace stays, which im hoping for, then i would be satidfied with our line and we would be able to go with the sexier pick in crabtree. If he leaves then it would be a given to draft smith because our line would definitely need some work.

Free Agency: If we can pick up a reciever like ronald curry hank baskett or bobby engram then i wouldnt mind our recieving corp. Maybe pick up a lineman for depth to compete.

Ps I like mike peterson as a middle line backer. He would really help spoon and our D.
