I am a huge Rams fan. I got my first jersey in 1983 when I was 6 years old. That jersey was none other than Nolan Cromwell and for those of you who weren't around in those days it wasn't just a jersey but it was the full get up, the pants, the jersey, and the helmet. From that day my dad geared me and my brother up in those uniforms I was a Ram fan for life through the ups and downs the good the bad and man i mean baaaadddd Im still as big a fan as i was when Dickerson ran for 2000 yards to the 2000 Super Bowl to under 10 points per game last year. No change I love my Rams, and this gets me to my point this is what led me to this site, Rams information. I sit and read all the posts and blogs just cause i can't get enough information on the Rams. While I sit and read these articles and blogs I can't help but cringe and think to myself have any of these people even watched football let alone played the game in there life time or are they just feeding off the media to come up with some these absurd statements they're making. This brings to the Justin Blackmon debate i have read everything from hes not big enough to hes not fast enough to he is just a possesion wr. You either smoke crack before you post or you have never watched him play . Forget forty times and watch him play his strength speed and quickness in every game regardless of opponent is so superior it looks like everyone else is in slow motion. I'm not even going to go into the measurables there's no point everyone knows how big he is but the funny thing is since he is not 6'5 megatron hes not a number 1, that's garbage. There is not another megatron there is only 1, so does that mean every other team in the league only posses number 2 receivers ? I see people buying the Floyd hype and that's ridiculous I don't even think hes in the top 5 of this years class. Watch the tape it doesn,t lie no big plays no yac what does that spell a big possesion wr and to blame his QB is a joke he had over 100 receptions last year thats 100 oppurtunities for big plays how many did he have, very few. the problem is the same all the way from the college recruiting to the pros they get so caught up in the height weight speed issue that they overlook rare talent . what does 5'8 169 pound d jackson and 6'5 230 pound c johnson have in common, rare talent they have the ability to make plays that others can't when they have the ball in their hands. Plain and simple with a receiver its all about the yac and blackmon is a yac monster. Do you think many touchdown were straight go routes running by a db? No, with exception of Rams VS Rvens most long TDs are a product of yac. How long was Mannings pass to Nicks in the Super Bowl maybe 10 yds and the rest of the 70 was all Nicks. "yac" To say his hands arent great is stupid iv'e seen him make many ridicoulis catches. But ive seen him drop easy passes no concentration you say, I say show me a reciever that hasn't dropped easy balls because they all have. He plays in a weak conference you say, I say are you crazy the Big 12 is a power conference that gets elite talent, there are 29 current dbs on pro rosters right now. He is a system guy you say, I say he was the 1 option on the field that the opposing def cordinaters had to account for which meant coverage rolled to his side, he was pressed, and he was doubled which he easily beat time and time again to the tune of 1500 yds 18 tds. Now with all of this said he is still a prospect not even one we are guaranteed to land he could be great or could be a bust thats the parley of a draft pick no one ever truely knows how a player is going to turn out because there are so many variables to football. But I do know this on the biggest stage of his career the Fiesta Bowl he single handedly took over the game with 186 yds and 3 scores.one word explosive! You think any other receiver from this years class stepped in there minor bowl games like that? The answer is NO! That is why he is rated so high and why he will not slip past 6. The 2 that you love from last year never even had a meaningless game as good as that one but for some reason they are viewed as so much better and be for you go casting me off as OSU lover or something retarded like that i'm right in the middle of SEC country and a huge Bama fan that watched all of Julios and Greens games. The best comparison i can make for him and it shocks me i haven't heard this yet is T O . I for one would love a T O clone with a team first attitude
