Turf Show Times The WR Situation

I don't post very often, but I would like to get your opinions on the WR Situation. Grammer police please don't hate, I am an engineer not a writer.

First off I will say I am pleasantly surprised with the new direction of our Rams. 4 pillars just got burned to the ground and I for one LOVE IT. I wonder if those pictures at Rams park are still around? Would it be a good idea for Fisher to put them back up?

Turf Show Times Round 1 Next Year WR/RB?

Who knows where we will be picking next year in the draft, but I feel we need to draft a WR or RB.  After the first game we all saw just how bad our WR core still is.  This unit needs to show some life this week and the rest of the season.

Mike Sims Walker-Were you even in the game week 1?

Danny Amendola- Tough luck and hope to get you back soon.  I hate to say this, but he may be our best trade bait player if Salas impress this year.

Brandon Gibson - You have never impressed me in your time here.  We have little options at WR so I guess we have to play him.  Looking forward to see someone else step up and take his job ASAP.

Mark Clayton + Health = - (Brandon Gibson)

DX + Health = - (Brandon Gibson)

Pettis- Please don't follow the path of Keenan Burton and Brooks Foster.  We need time to pass any judgement on this rookie.  Still would have preferred a different draft pick, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Salas - I can't wait to see if this guy will step up while Danny is out.  I really like this kid and I think he has a bright future.

As far as the running backs go we still need a replacement for Jackson.  Cadillac played very well the first week and look for him to repeat again in Week 2.  He will be a solid #2, but his age and injury history is a concern as a #1 RB.

I am in the camp to do whatever it takes in next years draft to get Sam a bad-ass #1 WR.  If this means trading later picks then so be it.  I am tired of drafting later round WR, it never seems to work out for us.  This obviously means that we will have no shot at drafting Trent Richardson, but there will always be solid value in round 2.  The value of RB has been declining in today's pass happy league.

My perfect scenario is to go WR round 1 and RB round 2.  Get Sam some explosive playmakers.

It is never to early to talk about next years draft.....

Turf Show Times Rams Rookies at Schnuks.

I received a phone call today while I was at work from a friend who said some rams players were at Schnuks at about 12:30 p.m.  Film crew and all.  He knows I am a die hard rams fan so I took the opportunity to check it out myself.

Little to my surprise the entire rookie class was wondering around the market in rams shirts.  I was pretty stoked to see the players that close up,  Bradford walked right past me in the deli (don't worry I avoided the shoulder).  Apparently this is something that happens once a year where the players learn about nutrition and other health facts at a grocery store.  I'm sure the location changes and its just for rookies but it was pretty cool.  Just thought I would share the info with yall, I doubt they publicize this.

Gillyard was snappin photos with some hot chick pimp style.

As for Bradford's shoulder it looks great.  I watched him and his shoulder dominate the sample trays.  I stuck around for about 10 minutes and every time I looked over Bradford was always eating.

It was hard to pick out the later round draft picks to their faces.  One thing that did stick out was how huge one player was.  I think it was Fendi or maybe Hoom.

I wish I got some pics for the site but I was at work and I own a go phone (no camera) sorry guys!  The location was the Schnuks at Woods Mill Rd (141) and Clayton.

Turf Show Times Draft Issues and Concerns-Who is going to backup SJ????

I do not post much, but I want to get some thoughts from fans around the website on a few issues I have with this draft.  Overall, I give the draft a B- some picks I liked and some that I did not understand:

1.  I have heard for 2 years now how we need a capable backup to SJ either from the draft or FA.  It did not happen last year (im sorry Chris Og.) does not count.  So what happens this year, we pass on this position in the draft, then proceed to watch alot of other teams trade late draft picks to acquire other teams second string rb's which would be a huge upgrade from what we have.  Kenneth Darby is not even close to what we should have as our No. 2 rb.  This should have been fixed last year.  I hope the FO has something up their sleeves, maybe an ex-giant/eagle/undrafted gem?

2.  Building in the trenches to build a team I can agree with.  I was surprised at the Saffold pick, but I think it will end up being a good move.  I think the Selvie pick is my favorite at this point, spags can work some mojo on this guy to help out Long.  The other DE's I don't know much about so I wont even comment.

3.  Gillyard seems like good value at that position but I don't think he will be anything more than another #2 WR, unless he turns out like Steve Smith.  As much as the FO is all about size, why do we keep drafting small WR's???? I was in the camp that no WR should have been taken, unless a solid pass cathcing TE.  This would have done wonders to help with Bradford's development.

4.  MurphyJeromeMurphy - Deja Vu???  This pick is ok I guess, I think TE Arron Hernandez would have been a great pick here.  I am also upset with the later round pick again used on a CB when I think we had some more pressing needs like RB, DE, or LB.

In summary, only time will tell how these guys show up in the NFL.  We had a solid draft last year, hopefully this year's as well.  Overall I am satisfied with this draft, but I am disappointed that we were not able to make more moves in the later rounds of the draft.

Thoughts?

Turf Show Times EAGLES QB

It seems that McNabb could possibly be done in Philly.  I am curious if our organization will try to make a push for any of their QB's.  McNabb is still under contract for a year and vick will obviously be gone next year for them.  Kolb will probably start the way McNabb plays in the playoffs.  I think he will get run out of town, Philly fans are ruthless!

I wanted to get comments and thoughts that if the rams could possibly make a deal for one of the Eagles QB's, which one makes the most sense.
